In my opinion Terrence Howard was worth every penny offered. Marvel should have paid him what he was worth to keep him in the MCU. Don C. Is a great actor, but he never felt like War Machine to me.
Not to take anything from Mark but was a softer and more emotionally in-check Hulk the right decision? I rewatch the iteration with Norton and think that out of control and destructive was the proper depiction. Mark is a great Banner but his Hulk is shit.
He would have been a mkre in control Hulk in the Avengers movie no matter who was playing him. If you watch the end credit scene of Norton's Hulk, he meditates for a while ans them open his eyes dramatically and they are red. This is to indicate that he learned to control his transformations.
I'd have to respectful disagree with the take of Mark Raffalo version has truly grown into his own. Mybe grown into a much boring & most uninteresting character. Hulks uncontrolled anger and Bruce constantl struggle is what makes Hulk so interesting. I mean how many intellectual methodical characters are in MCU already? RIGHT HULK WAS DIFFERENT AND NOW HE IS JIST ANOTHER GUY THAT HAPPNES TO BE GREEN 💩
Dirty Harry was offered to Frank Sinatra, Indiana Jones was supposed to be Tom Selleck, the very first Batman movie with Tim Burton was offered to Mel Gibson who was also offered the lead in Gladiator. Han Solo was offered to believe it or not Al Pacino. This list is endless. Could literally go on for days, and oh just about everything is offered to Tom Cruise.
Three of these roles, while technically recasts, were actually the actors that the director originally wanted for the parts. Ridley Scott wanted Christopher Plummer, but was told by producers to get a bigger star, which led to Kevin Spacey. Mark Ruffalo was an early candidate for Bruce Banner, but... It was a journey? And Michael J Fox was always Robert Zemekis's first choice for Marty McFly. However, Fox refused to jump ship from the TV show Family Ties (at which point, a large amount of the audience was tuning in to see him as Alex P Keaton). However, when Zemeckis couldn't get the performance he wanted from Eric Stoltz, he begged to make it work with Fox. And even if it was a punishing shoot for Fox, he really delivered the goods.
Mark Rolston, costar in Aliens, told the story. Five days into shooting, Remar went out to a bar and tried to score heroin. British officials said that he can either go home to America or to jail in the UK. Next day James was on a plane home and Cameron was on the phone to Biehn. Within two days Michael was on set in Remar's costume.
Norton is an amazing actor but he tries to control the situation. If Norton could take direction like Ruffalo we might have had a similar experience. Also remember that hulk is a really difficult character to write around.
Dougray Scott also had a shot at James Bond and Aragorn. He didn't want the time commitment of a year filming in New Zealand after Mission Impossible 2, and Pierce Brosnan stayed for a fourth movie, and after that producers changed directions with Bond and he was no longer right for the role.
@@klydejohnson7520 I’m coming at Disney more for the portrayal of the Hulk overall. The only movie where they did s good job with him was the first Avengers
@@JohnDoe-qu7gmyou’re coming at Disney like an idiot since you had no idea they were sticking to the source material with the “Professor Hulk” glasses😂

@@klydejohnson7520 you mean i kNOw he would🤣 norton could made it happen if he really wanted too, hell he already did his own solo film and its Edward Norton lol
1. Terrence Howard didn’t want “more” money. He wanted what the contract said he’d get. 2. It’s wasn’t X-Men in 2000. It was the a C level character of Blade in 98 success that started the Superhero movie run. 3. Eric Stoltz did something horrible. Cause Back to the Future was NOT a known property when it was being made. They had no idea how big it would be and still paid money to not only replace the actor but also reshoot scenes. I call BS!!! But very cool the 1980’s can keep secrets this long. 4. Edward Norton wouldn’t have nerfed The Hulk going forward so this was a good replacement.
Ruffalo was a downgrade in every way.

Man I should watch Her again. I remember actually crying when I watched it on a plane
Norton was amazing as hulk your smoking something good ruffalo is HORRIBLE

Imagine having to be a bigger badass than James Earl Jones' voice. He nailed it.
Lol Mark Ruffalo was the downgrade especially seeing where the Hulk character is now Edward Norton's Hulk was under appreciated

Don Cheadle is a better actor in every way.
I just think that he shouldve been a lil bit more forthcoming to his friend who gave him the role. I mean thats just backstabbing at its finest
Come onnn maynn
Ruffalo as hulk was a mistake. Turned one of marvels most powerful characters into a fairy princess.
I've never been a fan of Ruffalo as Hulk. They went from Norton's badass, ass kicking Hulk to Ruffalo's lame excuse for a hero.

I think Eddie Murphy was the best Axel Foley in Beverly hills cop franchise and Don cheadle was the better James Rhodes AKA war machine MCU 👍👏💯

Mark Ruffalo was NOT an upgrade over Ed Norton
Ruffalow’s Hulk was one of the worst decisions Marvel made. Norton’s is far superior
100% Facts. Wtf were they thinking?

V for Vendetta , V's mask is a Guy Fox mask I believe it was prevalent prior to the movie.
Honestly do your job Disney. The Hulk has one of the strongest healing factors in comics. Why would he need glasses?
lol good point. but when he merges with Bruce Banner, things are different maybe

Ruffalo Hulk, IS NOT better than Nortons Hulk cmon now
if edward norton was still hulk he would have had his own world war hulk movie by now and his own set of movies like ironaman, thor and cap did

Mark Ruffalo seems more like a "lab sweeper" & least convincing as a "nuclear physicist"!
I like Terrence Howard better as war machine,
