Good question. Lightning port is designed for both headphone & charging. If you're worried, you could buy iPhone's original wired headphone at a reasonable price. But, as far as I'm aware, it should not cause any problems.

Yes, you could. But you've to buy the adaptor for Type C USB rather than lightning as for iPhone. In any ways, the next iPhone model will have USB C too.
It seems your headphones or adapter doesn't support microphone. So, in order to be able to speak to others, I guess iPhone switches automatically to speakers so that it could use its internal microphones rather than the headphone's. Please make sure you're headphones' microphone are working. Sometimes, you could switch to the headphone but selecting headphones from the calling application.

Welcome 👍 Yes, iPhone doesn't have a separate port for headphone. So, you could either use wireless charging or wireless headphone if you want both at the same time. Regarding wireless charging, I suggest Apple's original wireless charger from Apple's website.
@@maddieperez8939 I found the solution: for this you need to buy an original apple lightening cable (it won’t connect as bluetooth) For lightening cable settings- firstly, update your phone to latest ios, it will come automatically. When you connect any original applelightening cable/earphone - lightning cable option will arrive. Hope you find it helpful :)

Nope. And my Skullcandy headset has been working for months. Suddenly, I can still hear videos (i.e., youtube, tiktok), but I cannot hear people with the headset plugged in, and they can only hear me sounding "distant." Apple customer support was not helpful, either.

If your headphones has got Bluetooth then you could connect it with Bluetooth instead. Yes, iPhone has got some annoying features but overall I think it's better than other phones. I've used both iPhone & android phones for many years.
