228/110 is my favorite yblock cam sprung to do 5500 which they do very happily with the HE pistons I got from you folks. My supercharger cam started with that profile but was adjusted for the pump, I use a ceramic bearing pump. What puzzles me is I have a couple of pals with 327s in same weight cars that dyno'd a lot more HP but aren't quicker than mine. (they do have higher top speeds). I suppose this is because of the torque curve. Does that make sense? Or perhaps its because mine have a much louder roar.

So what is the formula to figure the 3.0 valve area?

A bazillion years ago (1969 - 1972) I had what I remember as a Crane Cam, ZIP 518 camshaft in a 292 in a '57 Fairlane. I had a late '60's big Ford top loader 4 speed installed too, taking out the OEM Ford-O-Matic. I now see Crane no longer offers that cam, or any other, for the Y-Block. Nice you offer this "Helpful Hints" guide! I still have that Fairlane, going back to a 312 with Ford-O-Matic in all stock configurations. However, in 1993 or so I purchased a '57 F-100 and am putting together a 272 bored to 292 and have a ground down mains 312 crankshaft in it. Still deciding on the cam to install! Guess I need to recheck your site to see what you offer! Thanks for your guidance, John! 😍😎
