    the one plus having a bad camera is one of the biggest myths in the tech space.

    • @namcojr
      @namcojr Month ago +24

      They DO have worse camera hardware, but we all know that doesn't translate 100% to actual use. It'll be hard to find situations where other phones with better hardware will actually produce better photos, and in all honesty, we've reached a spot where little to no difference can be noticed in such small screens anyway. We're in a plateau where phones are concerned.

      S**t, i am about to acquire a new phone. Hesitation is between Iphone 17, Google Pixel 10 Pro XL and Oneplus 15, mostly. I would like the phone to take excellent photos and videos, but almost every reviewer tells that photos and videos are worse than the ones from the direct competitors. Well, i am a bit surprized watching this video...

      true because if you ask me, I have OnePlus ace 2 pro here it's a freaking china only phone with SD 8 Gen 2 but with 50mp this is all I need because it's already giving good shots for camera and good gaming performance, that's why my only option when I want to upgrade is OnePlus or Xiaomi now because even with Xiaomi 11t in Dimensity 1200, 108mp is already good enough for everyday use

      OnePlus compared decently with samsungs Auto mode which is samsungs weakest photo mode. If you use expert raw, default images set to 24 megapixels and the final image to jpeg, while keeping everything set to auto it is night and day difference vs auto.

    • @PolyT-t3i

      Same . Because I have the Google Pixel 9Pro XL and hate low light front camera, I have a OnePlus 9pro and been eye the 13 but never got because I have a Pixel and I've been looking at OnePlus 15 and I am going to get it in Kenya. But the social media thing can be thrown out the test all together. That has to be the dumbest test category. I will basically always use the actual camera setting unless it's Snapchat for the geo features. Nyali centre, club Hypnotica (I spend a lot of time clubbing) the camera setting on the Google won't allow the time or anything text wise unlike the oppo system. OnePlus is in the same system so I can have the time, phone, etc in different parts of the screen (something I miss having a lot) plus Kenyans use TikTok WAY more than IG and I actually deleted mine like a year ago. One short 30 second category of social media for an app.. come on bro 🤦🏽‍♂️

    • @kouavang7819
      @kouavang7819 2 months ago

      @PolyT-t3ithe oneplus 13 will be bad for your tiktoks if your using selfie cam, the lack the autofocus yeah so it sucks and video chat is blurry which thats the reason I had to buy the oneplus15. Kinda funny how people compare the cameras but no one test them in video chat so we know how well apps utilize the camera but yeah the oneplus 15 selfie cam has autofocus.

    Why is there never a category for RF (radio) performance - how well or badly the device connects to the mobile network? After all, that is one of the key parameters for a mobile phone. All of the other stuff is not much use if your device won't connect to a weaker mobile or wifi signal.

    • @whyhaveaname5963
      @whyhaveaname5963 4 months ago +4

      U dunno anything about silicon carbon. They are not slacking 😂. And pixel is not a big company at all yet. Anyways silicon carbon is neither more expensive nor better than lithium ions. They are found to be degrading faster and don't match their numbers in capacity at all. So there is a lot of testing that needs to be done yet. And none of these big companies manufacture batteries. Chinese phones don't care about long term. They are flexing with silicon carbon

    • @whyhaveaname5963
      @whyhaveaname5963 4 months ago +12

      Apple and Samsung are cautious about using silicon-carbon batteries due to faster capacity degradation over 2-3 years, safety concerns (expansion/swelling risks), and the potential for increased regulatory hurdles for shipping higher-capacity batteries, especially after past battery incidents like the Note 7.

    Really like this testing style. Everyone was crying about the OP15 camera downgrade like it's literal trash and ignoring how vastly better it is in every other category but watching this I would be perfectly fine with this camera. I think ppl are way too obsessed with that aspect to, especially just what's "best" and not even looking at specific things. I'm on a OP13 so I probably will wait a bit for other options but from a 12 or another phone it's an absolute beast

    • @midnightdetective95
      @midnightdetective95 4 months ago +48

      They are good but I think the main issue is they don't look close to real life which isn't obvious when watching these videos. It's only when you take the photo yourself and see the subject IRL vs what the phone took that you notice. So it's personal preference if you like an oversaturated and vibrant look vs more realistic looking. Would recommend testing the phones out yourself before buying.

    OnePlus fast charging is simply a game changer. It's the reason why my OP12 is in hand 90% of the time vs my S25 Ultra, Pixel 10 Pro Fold, or 16 Pro max. But I am not even certain there are enough added features in the OP15 to justify an upgrade from the 12.

    Great content. I love my s24 ultra. With Bluetooth s pen. Anti-glare screen, power share. I was gonna get the s25 ultra in January but in december I decided to get the s24 ultra. After I heard the rumor about no Bluetooth in the s pen. I love using it for group photos. Now as for the qi2 magnets in a phone. I'm sure you know as well everyone else, that most people put there phone in a case, and every case I have has built-in magnets. Now if you rock a phone naked then either your a RUclipsr that has lots of phone's or has the money that if the phone gets messed up so what I'll just get a new one. I'm sure that most people get one phone per 2 to 3yrs. And if you want to keep your home screen Anti-glare and use a glass screen protector get a matte glass screen protector it works fantastic with it.

      The killer feature is that you could make the phone last 2 days on a single charge while heavily using it or if you're a light user, 2.5/3 days is not a problem at all which is a far cry from what you have right now.
      There's also the fact that I only typically charge my phone for 10 to 15 minutes while eating and that's more than enough.

    An important specification that is missing from most reviews is GPS channel (L1, L2, L5) coverage, GPS accuracy and how many decimal places are stored in the X, Y and Z coordinates that are stored in the exif data stored in the photos. Many phone truncate the number of digits so that the phone doesn't save the location to anywhere near the native accuracy of the phone. They can be off by over 300 ft. I often need to know where a photo was taken so this is a big fail for me.

      Because OnePlus was known for than way back when you could buy their top of the line for $499! And some people will ALWAYS say Oneplus doesn't have as good as a camera. I could care less about smartphone phones because they all use tiny little sensors that are just good for snap shots! I have bigger sensor cameras with MANY TIMES the sensor size - REAL CAMERAS - Not Toys! But, in this review, if I was making my decision solely on the cameras performance, I would buy the ONEPLUS 15 ! It looked great! ... And I'd save hundreds in the process!

      It’s your choice but oneplus has higher resolution so even it is more powerful it cant output 165hz as oneplus and oneplus has has the fastest ram time in the market as well has highest touch sampling rate if up 3200 hz due to there touch response chip. And in gaming test oneplus is more optimized and stable while gaming if you compare it to Samsung or any other phones by using FPS meter

      @diggedboy2333 I don't think one plus can beat Samsung in Customization, Samsung Goodlock app will always give you options it can even customize animations. And the problem about One Plus is that it is not optimized on socmed apps like Galaxy Flagships and iPhone and what more Samsung offered 7 years of OS, better security (Samsung knox), better Galaxy AI and One UI still the best if not the best but most popular UI reliable android skin as of now. And in Popularity One plus is not comparable to Samsung.

      Yeah, debt culture here in the US is wild. But I'll be buying the OnePlus 15 outright soon. They likely won't ever be picked up again by carriers. A quick Google search says T-Mobile dropped them due to poor sales, customer issues with the devices (OnePlus 7 Pro), and OnePlus themselves saying that they want to focus on direct to consumer sales.
