The morning after the annual Purge, Elmer confronts his co-worker Dan about the atrocities he committed. Awkward.
Since watching the first purge I've actually been wondering what the next day must be like. Like imagine being the employer knowing 1 or more of your employees killed or tried to kill you amd your family. Or some such thing.
That's why the purge wouldn't work in real life

Well, it would never go back to "normal" after a event like that.
The country would fall apart the first night. What stops people from just burning down every police station, every fire station, every hospital? Entire cities would be burned to the ground in one night. There would be no recovery.
Simple reason the purge must have rules or would never work:
If I steal a car during the purge, do I have to:
Return it at 7am?
Get the victim to sign the title over?
Prove I stole it during the purge and not at 7:02am?
Not drive it after 7am until I get insurance on it?
You break a murderer out of prison on purge night and after the purge he kills 17 people not during the purge and is caught. Are you now an accessory to those crimes?
This is why such legislation would never pass to start with, too many what ifs you have to write into law.
yup and many more things that just wouldn't happen. It would be very complex. My issue isn't with the movie but some people believe it can actually work as a theoretical real thing.
Not true the announcement says crime is legal for citizens. The one at the beginning of the movies, but why did you have to go there for real?

As for your “legal” questions -no, nothing you do during the 12 hours of Purge is considered a crime. When it is legal to take someone else’s car, you can, without any legal worries. The justice system deals with illegal actions, so when they’re legalised, that means you have committed no crime. Since stealing the car is not considered stealing during Purge, you wouldn’t be in possession of a stolen good, because, you know, it’s not *stolen* stolen.

The only reason I've ever even heard of the Purge movie is because of the episode of Rick and Morty that referenced it. Haven't seen the movie itself though. Didn't even realize at first that they were actually referencing a movie that had actually been made. Felt more like they were just making up a fake reference.
Anyway, I'd guess that because of Rick and Morty youtube's / google's algorithm could be reviving whatever old content about the Purge it can dig up. (Although this is a while after that episode aired, so who knows?)

The purge is just so epically stupid as to be beyond words.
Let me explain. The Arsonists would win. Entire city uncontrollably on fire.
The premise of this video exposes exactly why the entire premise of The Purge is ridiculous and would never work.
The movie pretends as though one night of “purging” gets everyone’s aggression out, and sublimates the aggression that would otherwise cause crime all year long.
It ignores the fact that for the rest of the year, there would be unimaginable amounts of resentment and hostility. A one-night free-for-all would cause the society to be utterly crippled for the rest of the year. And there would be no reason at all to believe that people would refrain from violence in retribution on the other 364 days.
I mean, most people would just not be hostile.

@@capybarhim but there's this thing called suspension of disbelief. There can't be too many logic holes to jump through if you want to make a story not dumb. I mean, with a movie like Men in Black the logic hole of "Aliens are hiding among us" isn't that big because they have more advanced tech than us in those movies. But in a movie like The Purge, there are just too many logic holes to jump over. Just look at the criticisms of the movie to see all the logic holes, you can't jump over all of them. For most other *good* movies, there aren't as many.

That raises a good question. After The Purge, can you admit to crimes you did during The Purge? (Maybe that's why a lot of them wear masks so they can be absolved of crimes afterwards.)
I mean you are immune on that night but what about after? Also what if you hurt someone and they are hospitalized that night and they die after 7:00 AM? Are you immune from that? It's like asking questions about The Gremlins "not eating after midnight rule."

I gave these guys a thumbs up to give support but the skit kind of sucked they can do better. what these amateur filmmakers failed to do in almost every skit is the background music., your background music can make a scene funnier or more serious all depends on the genre of film
