I was at Kokomo. Very entertaining night. One contribution to the dash excitement was the top 6 guys didn’t stage in time and got put in the back, somewhat inverting them. Kudos to officials for sticking to the rules. And, everyone staged on time after that. 😊 I disagree that Larson is the only reason people are at these races. I’m from central PA and he’s just another quality driver which High Limit has plenty of. I enjoyed the fact he had to work to get in. It means you have a quality field and truthfully the fact he didn’t get out of the C didn’t ruin it for me. The track took rubber but before that was crazy. The C and B mains were stacked. Very fun night.

What you said about Larson and Sweet was spot on, could not agree more with the statements made. Have had the privilege of meeting them both on a few different occasions and they do not seem like the type of drivers to throw away races. Both teams give it their all and best effort they can, at every race they appear in and the hard work pays off. How it's possible to hate on that is beyond my thought process.

I have to admit that I'm a bit surprised by the amount of negativity HL gets. Sprint Car racing is second in popularity when it comes to dirt. That was never going to change with just the World of Outlaws as the only national touring series. There's more talk about Sprint Cars right now than I can ever remember. That's largely because of what Brad and Kyle have done. WRG has been great for the sport, but likely lifted it as far as they could. With them and HL there is plenty of room for growth. More national touring series races hopefully means getting Sprint Cars on tracks and in front of fans that don't get that opportunity very often. Central PA, Western Ohio, California , and Central Iowa aren't where big growth is going to come from. Small steps into new areas is where the opportunity lies. Going to places like Golden Isles, Wheatland Missouri, or Florence are risks, but necessary ones for real growth.

Alot of times that has to do with higher than average car counts and trying to quickly get through a program.

It's not just a portion of sprint car fans it's just a portion of the general population. I always find that people who need a conspiracy theory to explain something that occurs are generally just afraid of the idea that shit just happens sometimes. It's the same in this situation as it is anywhere else, they are jealous of the success Brad and Kyle have in both business and racing and they need to make up stories to discredit that -- when reality proves them wrong, they need to make up more stories and they just get deeper and deeper into their made-up fantasy world.

  • @BillSmithBooks

Love the video, great commentary. Racers and race fans, because they are so engaged, competitive and (often) partisan, easily buy into conspiracy theories that fit their point of view ... but honestly, that's part of what keeps people engaged in the sport, just like the rivalries. It can go overboard, but it can also be part of the fun.
After all, I will go to my grave thinking NASCAR rigged Richard Petty's 200th win at Daytona with President Reagan in attendance and yet many of the NASCAR faithtful insist I am crazy.

was there larson and day just didn't have good luck last night but day started out well, kokomo was ok but it got dusty very quick on the last two races, but the speed which the show was ran was fast we were done 10 minutes till ten oclock or so, as for the wrecks there were some big ones the flip out off the wall and down the front streach and the wall ride I caught on video, as for the crowd the stands were packed, as for brad and kyle no they definatly were not sandbagging yea they might often times be ahead of the competition but they ligit got beat, I didn't think courtney was going to catch buddy but managed to on a restart and was prettymuch knocking on the door to get back to the lead position most of the race kofoid was doing very well, now as for the level of dirt sitting right off the turn you get absolute sandblasted even with goggles on the dust was getting under them and it was not quite the fast track it was last years version definatly more a drivers track and had to rip the top which as the accedents showed is riding the knifes edge just like they used to at eldora right up to the wall, just glad no one was hurt there were three real wicked wrecks and could have had a differant outcome easy. as for sunshine courtney and bayston, indiana represent, no one comes to our house and pushes us around to quote the rudy movie. as for kyle larson thanks for bringing winged racing back to north indiana and sarry your night got soured so fast you put on a heck of a show last year against justin peck and show us why you are a ledgend already.
