So, I have a few tips. In regards to the hospital, make sure your insurance covers the area your going to just in case of an emergency. Nothing worst than having an emergency and then not having money/coverage. I also travel with a notebook that has all my conditions, meds and doctors in it. This one requires a little research into the area your going, but I have called/emailed organizations or associations that specialize in the medical conditions I have. You could probably use Facebook for that matter. I have used the organization’s to get simple thing’s like safe restaurants and accessible amusements, to things like if my supplies get damaged where I can go. I’m past my travel days now, just too much anxiety these days.

love these tips! i cannot emphasize enough that everyone should bring extra emergency meds. it might sound like a waste of space, but the peace of mind is absolutely worth it! you don’t deserve to have your trip ruined by feeling sick if you have meds that are able to help😊

Great tips! I loved to travel before my health got worse. This video has given me the confidence to try again. One big thing to check before travelling is what your insurance will cover in another network or state.

I just wanted to say that I follow you on Tik Tok and here and I love your advocacy videos. I too suffer with emetaphobia and I’m not afraid to get a stomach virus since that was the only time I threw up. Whenever im around someone who puked I panic and have to escape, I’m so afraid of it and I get the days where I keep emergency drain bags on me. I never know if my body will give in. Also you are so cute and I’m really sorry you’re having to go through this. It’s so sad to see other people suffering. I have had some relief from motegrity in regards to helping emptying my stomach faster and getting hunger pains but I still will flare and never know when. Usually 1 time a week I find myself having to drain. My colon seems to be the slowest out of everything and I’m trying to figure out a regimen for my colon because I can’t tolerate linzess. 😢 sending you love and spoons!

Thank you so much for this info, tips and trick. And thank you regarding the access cards. I never knew they were out there. When I could actually eat food, the only place that allowed me to eat off of the kids menu was Crackle Barrel. I tried to order off the kids menu several times at Texas Roadhouse but they would never allow me to. I’d order off the adult menu, and all things to the side (dressings, etc…whatever the kids wanted, lol). Then the food would get pushed to the side and wrapped up to take home. If my kids didn’t eat it then in the trash it went. Sad. They should allow us to eat off the kids menu. I even offered to pay adult price but they still refused. Thank you again for the vaca, flying, packing, etc videos. These helped a lot & now I can’t wait to go see my friend.

Thank you for making this little series! It’s been so so helpful and educational. I haven’t travelled since getting my feeding tube so I had no idea but always wondered! Good to know!! Definitely makes me feel better, I thought travelling with a tube would be a disaster and honestly have avoided it at all costs… i also have a central line now so no idea how that would look. And Yes! I definitely relate being emeatophobic and the fear of being far away from my doctors, hospital, pharmacy, supplies at home etc. thanks for sharing!! A confidence boost for sure😊

Aww you’re welcome! I definitely thought it was scary and would be a disaster but it ended up going way smoother than I thought it’s definitely possible!
