It’s really cool that people who like trains no matter where they are from all act the same way expressing their pleasure and excitement.
Takes me back to my childhood when my dad and I and my brother would watch those great old steam locomotives rumble into Union Station in Columbus Ohio. We'd stand on the platform and feel the steam blast into our faces and smell the wonderful smell of the smoke.
Those were better days.
today we might have bullet trains capable of doing 350 kmph but nothing can beat the elegance of this beast. 🚂🚃🚃🚃🚃
I just noticed those marine-type spinning windows on the cab front for keeping a clear view of the road ahead. Great idea.
…
Because they get heavy, wet snow that cakes onto everything.
That's because Japan is the Global Leader in innovation.
@@brucebartman9890 Those are called "Kent Screens" Invented by Edgar de Normanville; an Englishman. He also invented the Laycock de Normanville overdrive.
Guess thats the benefits of mitsubishi making everything from ships to pencils. If you have a good idea, its easily implimented into many different products, as apposed to a company that makes one thing. The research only continues along that one path as apposed to in all directions.
I am glad to see Japan getting into steam preservation all the Old Locomotives that remain should be restored to operation.
Beautifully maintained facilities and equipment. The staff at this location obviously cares. Wonderful to see it done right.
A beautiful steam locomotive. One of the best 1067mm steam locomotives ever built.
The love for old steam locomotives knows no borders .
Railfanning and historic preservation is everywhere!
This has to be the cleanest steam engine I have ever seen! The only country that is even close to it, is the Swiss steam engines. But even they have grease around their bearings, clean grease !!!
Indeed! 8:37 - 8:47. Look at the driver's spotless white gloves 😄👍
I agree, they certainly look after her. But I would suggest Braunton (masquerading as Lord Dowding) on the West Somerset Railway (England) in 2018 came pretty close.
Look up the germans.
Look up the Ffestiniog railway, very clean engines,
Err. Have you looked at Clan Line, B I Line, and Tornado? Spotless and they all do a lot of work.
Japanese steam locomotives have a neat look all of their own. Well cared for too!
Indeed, I just wish that ho scale of them DIDN'T COST thousands of dollars.
@@alexfogg381 those are the brass ones, if you find those plastic ones it probably cost around $400+
@@moisturemachine404,thank you.
Ever hear of a Mikado? Extremely popular design in the USA during latter days of steam.
@@mark-wn5ek You are right sir.Every railroad had these type of steam locomotive. Some ran in to the 1950s.
Llll
Amazing!! I love that big steam machines !!High cuality manteinance, a museum masterpiece but still running!! Greetings from Argentine.
Great Beautiful looking Locomotive and Train Cars... It is a piece of artwork at work. On your Railroad.........
What an amazing machine!!! You can see the pride and care taken with this locomotive.
The Japanese are just so cool. They have their extremely modern, high speed trains and they have also have steam trains
So does the UK, Europe and also America..
Great to see that high tech Japanese still love their steam trains and what a nice train it is so well maintained.
@mattblack - they also build great cars so their trains will be just as precise. Not surprised - they care about what they are doing unlike lazy-azzed; unionized; don’t-give-a-sheet Americans.
Very clean and obviously well maintained equipment, bravo!
LAS MAQUINAS Y SU EXCELENTE M,ANTENCION JAPONESA
Brilliant shots ! 👍🏻
The only problems Japanese engineers was the relatively poor quality Steaming Coal...just think what they would have done with Welsh or Blair Arhol coal ( QLD).
The Japanese 3'6" ststem was on a par, engine wise, with SAR 3'6" system, except for SAR's Garretts.
Well done video. I have seen several static Loco museums in Japan, all top-notch.
Great video Thanks, perfect!!!!
Wow, such a spotless-looking engine, a Mitsubishi? Keep it up, thank you
I just love to hear a steam locomotive traveling down the tracks, and to watch the pistons move the rods. Steam engines are high maintenance, but very few of them exist anymore, I guess that's what makes them so special to me.
Gorgeous. Simply gorgeous.
A handsome and well cared for locomotive.
Hats off to the meticulous Japanese. My friends who have lived in Japan say every lever and every switch on any appliance or machine is a real one which activates something or the other unlike here in India where if even 50% work and if we don’t come to harm by wrongly turning off or on a switch against manufacturers’ express warnings then we consider it exceptional skill and organisational capabilities of those who made the machine.
Thank you Thank you for the amazing video !!!
A beautiful Machine
Look at the thick and clean black smoke pouring out from the exhaust funnel of the C6210 train 😫😫👌👌
Great job using steam.Great looking engine😎
For an engine that size that has to be the smallest tender I have ever seen! And everything so clean and well maintained! Sad this wasn't alot longer! Fabulous!
It's a proper fit for such a locomotive, which isn't really that big. This is 42" gauge I believe as opposed to standard 56.5".
Probably the best maintained steam locomotive of all time
Very nice Engine !Thank you for sharing !
Fabulous locomotive - great video!
Is that a 'clear view' rotating glass in the front facing window? First time I've seen that, great idea. Thank you for posting this clip, nothing wrong with Japanese engineering 😍
Is this a Hudson? With balanced drivers and roller bearings? Damn! I'll bet that baby could crack 100 if you ran it flat out. Judging from the way the engineer is laying on the whistle, he's enjoying the hell out of it.
AND THE TREES ARE LOVING IT !!!!!! JUST LOOK HOW GREEN THAY ARE!!!
Wonderful artworks ... Wonderful times ... And wonderful people ...
Great! Greetings from Hungary!
I just love it! Wow what a beauty!
loved your video please keep up the great work!!
Nice Japanese Hudson type steam locomotive
Engine driver and fireman...both wearing white gloves! Sheesh!
Taxi drivers wear white gloves also in Japan.
YEAH, just like a ship's captain wears white gloves.
Brilliant, very very intensive maintenance job :)
Why this good train is so much cluttered? See UP 611, though very powerful but simple-without any clutter.
It's beautiful
3:25 such frail con rods, maybe Henry Ford was helping to build this.
The coupling rods (in US, side rods) look a bit slender but the connecting rods look pretty stout to me.
04:29
Looks the wheels.
,,Ah sorry you must go a little bit more backwards please."
,,Little bit? Ok!"
😂
Great video Thanks
If you want to understand what Force, Torque, Power, Mass ,Energy and...Style ...all you have to do is watch this Amazing Invention of Man = The Locomotive
Steam engines are all beautiful machines and while some modern trains can match their beauty no modern train horn can touch a steam engines whistle - not even close in that regard.
Thankful thath.is preserved and operating. Smaller side rods indicate not designed for heavy tonnage.
Interesting seeing the piston rods outhe front of the pistons. Small coalumps for automatic stoker?
9:44 What is round thing on the front window? Cleans window?
The round thing is a self cleaning window. a lot of ships have them
Simply, beauty of a machine !!!
Superb locomotive !
Very good video.thank you to sharing this video.OLD IS GOLD i like it.
