I'm glad it was enjoyable for you. Too bad you weren't there 30 years ago (1988) when Moto GP returned to the U.S. after a long absence. Randy Mamola, Wayne Rainey, Kevin Schwanz, Eddie Lawson, and Bubba Schobert. Most of whom came up to GP from flat track racing (like the San Jose Mile, which I saw once before it was cancelled forever.) The amazing turn 2 pass early in the race where Eddie Lawson late braked past 2 other riders, going deep into the apex of the corner whereupon he "flat tracked" it out to the exit, laying down stripes of rubber from BOTH tires. To the cool down lap tragedy (which I witnessed) where Bubba Schobert was conversing side by side with another rider and someone came up very fast and hit him from behind, paralyzing him for life and ending his career.
Rossi vs Biaggi - Welkom 2004 Rossi vs Gibernau - Jerez 2005 Rossi vs Capirossi - Sepang 2006 Rossi vs Pedrosa - Estoril 2007 Rossi vs Stoner - Laguna Seca 2008 Rossi vs Hayden - Indianapolis 2008 Rossi vs Lorenzo - Catalunya 2009 Rossi vs Marquez - Assen 2015 Rossi vs Dovizioso - Losail 2015
Stoner, Rossi, Lorenzo and also Pedrosa are the fantastic 4 and have raised the level of contention and this is history. Too bad not having seen Stoner vr Marquez would have been very interesting
@Tino Kz m4rqu3z remind me about stoner because stoner said: I stopped being a Repsol Honda test driver because the young rider promised m4rqu3z didn't want me there, "Stoner said to GP One LOL ^o^~_~≥3≤
I saw this live. Rossi had bad luck at Laguna many races. However no other riderr will ever touch this. The 2 Best of all time in their prime. ROSSI 🇮🇹 RULES!!!!
Stoner in practice absolutely blitzed the time sheet. His bike so fast. Rossi set his slower bike up for the race. Incredible race. The gap to the rest of the field shows just how extraordinary they both were. Ultimately Rossi showed him that a slower bike could beat the Ducati in a race. Rossi got to live rent free in stoners head after that race
Rossi has said it was his greatest race. Had Stoner gotten ten bike lengths ahead - he would be GONE. Stoner had 3/4rs of a second per lap on everybody. Me and my wife were at the fence on corner 2 - could see five curves from where we were (curve 2, 3, 4, 5 and way in the distance corner 10). Got the entire race on video from corner 2.
I had seen in one video jeremy burgess said he advice just one thing he can do that is not letting casey on front as we all know vale love to chase his rivals upfront on early lap and take over on few last lap.. But we all feel casey anger on rossi here saying aggresive and clever but he is lucky to retired early otherwise i cant imagine him battle with marcrash 😂
No he wasn't. He was a very good rider, but not a great one. Giancomo Agostoni, Mike Hailwood, Mick Doohan, Valentio Rossi, and Marc Marqez, that's a great rider.
@@justangel8911 Ducati won because Yamaha and Honda wasn't ready with the new 800cc engine, they to busy competing the world title. While Ducati had started their 800cc engine research on August 2006. Plus all Michelin rider had a lot of issue on that season. if he was a great rider, why he couldn't defend his title on 2008?
Awesome Race. Back when Moto GP really rocked. Not saying the current group of riders is not great but these were very exciting times. Thank you Vali for all you have done.
lol....People dont understand whats its like to just navigate the corkscrew at slow pace. You turn that pace up to race speed and it becomes terrifying. Then add in competition so the line your used to taking becomes 15 different lines at maximum speed while adding other bikes next to you....I wish they made a roller coaster ride of sorts that mimicked what these guys experience on a race day.....The go pro's, camera shots, etc, make it look easy.....99% of people would shit themselves
Massive power engine from Ducati + Stoner VS Smooth and balance engine from Yamaha + Rossi. 2007 - 2010 was the most great era of MotoGP. Every bikes has their own specializing back then and the electronic "things" has not much intimidated the race. That was a pure talent, pure riding skills
I remember watching this race: Rossi's pass at the corkscrew & Stoner binning it at the final corner. They squared off a bit in the media pen during Rossi's BBC interview before the podium ceremony too. Great stuff. I did not remember Lorenzo's massive highside though! 🤯
Rossi knew he hadn't the speed to stay with Stoner. His only chance was to follow Stoner, start battles with him and beat him in these battles. That's why he always fought back when Stoner took the lead. Otherwise Stoner would have disappeared into the sunset. What a brilliant race
Stoner was the only one with the guts to ride that Ducati to its limits- Nobody else could come close to riding those iterations of the MotoGP Ducati Gorgeous riding style as well. Those Rossi / Stoner battles are epic
It's even but these guys don't really make mistakes, like in F1. So no matter how even they'll make it, itlls still look like it's not getting better because they don't make mistakes.
The only way to beat Ducati is in the corner..Rossi's strategy was to attack straight away when Stoner overtook him..to disrupt Stoner's rythm..and it worked brilliantly..👏
I stared watching because of the Dr and It's hard to watch races now with Rossi towards the back of the pack. Would love for him to get 1 more win before he retires.
Not gonna lie, this was the very first MotoGP race I saw and it was the best introduction you could ever imagine.

You had a good one, l hade last race of 2015 , where Rossi came from Last and had 4th place. Ever since, Rossi fan.
this was also the first race I saw live, and I've been a fan ever since
Ppppppppiipiipipipipippppppp
I was at this race, when Stoner crash.

Rossi vs Dovizioso - Losail 2015
Rossi vs Petrucci - Assen 2017
Rossi vs Melandri - Sachsenring 2006
The golden era of motogp, in my opinion
Crappy camera coverage compared to today though.
Wish we'd had the same as today then.
Bravo e senza rossi no party 👊
These guys are the best riders of the sport (in my opinion)
It's not your opinion, it's the truth
+1❤

bloody oath!! That would be a awesome race
Marquez reminded me of stoner when he first moved into MotoGP

Nah, Marquez against Simoncelli..... Now that would have been really interesting to see
I saw this live. Rossi had bad luck at Laguna many races.

The 2 Best of all time in their prime.
ROSSI 🇮🇹 RULES!!!!
The legendary race 'corkscrew' rossi and stoner, the most epic race ever.
Pure talent vs pure entertainer = Best battle of all time🔥
This battle was so iconic and it was so similar to Villanueve V Arnoux
I remember watching this live. Great race.

one of the best battles in motogp 👍

One of the most iconic moments in MotoGP history if not THE
Jaman skrng udh ga ada lagi yg battle kaya mereka berdua, serasa sirkuit milik berdua.
Ngerebutin posisi 1, dengan gap yg jauh sama posisi 3 dst
I miss the old design of these bikes, but the new designs are beautiful!

He was a GREAT rider name another Rider who has won the MotoGP world championship with Ducati... oh wait.

Rossi overtake Stoner at corkscrew
15 years old Marquez : interesting
Now it’s easier: in the past there was the gravel
To this day, i still cannot see why Stoner was so pissed at Rossi. No contact, hard fair passes from both.
Because Stoner was a crybaby. He was known as “Stoner the moaner” among the riders.
Race lover from india
When I saw this race, 13 years ago, I was 5 ... it's like it was yesterday
These battles were at another level....wow
Awesome Race. Back when Moto GP really rocked. Not saying the current group of riders is not great but these were very exciting times. Thank you Vali for all you have done.
people don't realize how hard it is to overtake at the corkscrew 😩

Switched on sports channel without even knowing this was live, thevrace was so incredible, I still feel lucky I watched it live on TV lol
Fantastic race, no one else in sight!

Despite Stoner crashing, he still managed to finish in P2. This 2 guys were in different league at that race
It was very unfortunate with that little slip off the track, I was so sad when I saw it haha
UNA DE LAS MEJORES BATALLAS QUE HE VISTO EN MI VIDA GUAAUUUH... 👌 FORZA VALE FORZA 46 💪
No clutchless down shifts..so much has changed now..
Even though I often see this but why does it make goosebumps goosebumps
V4 engine power vs late brake n fast acceleration inline 😁👌
best battles

Now a days a race like this can't be seen.
You must not be watching GP then.
Legend battle..
Epic race forever 🔥
Greatest battle
2 legend in circuit legend
great race now if stoner would have just said great battle but i got beat would have had alot more respect for him
Legends
Unbelivable battle Stoner, Rossi wins Laguna Seca 13 years old. Legends
motogp should do what F1 do, reduce the gap between bikes so we can see more of this
It's even but these guys don't really make mistakes, like in F1. So no matter how even they'll make it, itlls still look like it's not getting better because they don't make mistakes.
C'était quand même autre chose ! 👍
thank you Vale
