I wish I knew how to put into words what Chester Bennington meant to me. The first time hearing Linkin Park at 10 years old, completely changed my life forever. Growing up in such a sheltered home, I had never in my life heard so much passion & anger in someones voice before. Feeling everything I was going through at that age, I immediately felt like someone understood & that it was OK to feel angry & sad. He gave me a voice when I felt like I didn't have one. Anytime I felt alone or hurt, he was there. It hurts so bad to think about how much hope & happiness he brought me & to so many others, yet he was so hurt inside himself. I hope we all can take something from this tragedy, even though some may seem so put together. You never know what another human being is going through or what they are battling. If any of you are feeling lost or broken, please know that YOU ARE NOT ALONE. This song is for you. This song is for Chester. Rest in peace you beautiful soul.

What I'm liking about all these tributes, is that everyone is not trying too hard to impress, or experiment. It's just pure emotion, and that's how it's supposed to be. That's what Chester used to look for, raw emotion. Loved it, Andie. :)
i loved how she picked this song. after all it really is words showing his fears and wants for the day that he'd be gone. and sadly that day came. so it put a sad smile on my lips seeing she picked this song of all.
Tbh I agree. In all of these tributes nobody is trying to make it about ego. It's just about Chester and how we feel about him.

Condolence my dear i hope youve been doing all right. Ive lost three of my loved ones in my life time but my uncles death was the worst he was shot three times and he was only twenty one. My question is why not just say thank you to linkin park? They made the song not her, although id have to say she is really good but say thank you to them not andie

Beautiful. Just beautiful. Thank you for saying that about him. I first heard of LinkinPark as I was channel surfing and ran across the beginning of One Step Closer many many years ago. Also, it rang true in my heart as I was dealing with my own struggles at that time. His vocals brought an awareness that I was not alone and I can see I was not the only one he impacted. May his soul finally be at peace. He is missed dearly in this world.

2024, and it still affects me to this day. Chester's music brought words to my emotions when i was younger. His songs made me stop and think, i wouldn't be here today if it wasn't for Linkin Park.

My best friend and I would drive around town when we first got our permits blaring hybrid theory all the hurt and pain of home life found a kindred spirit in their music. When I heard Chester had passed I couldn't believe it to even fathom the pain he was going through must have been some deep pain going on. This cover is so good. Thank you for making it Chester would be proud.
