I've been waiting nearly 50 years for my husband to buy me just a ring. A diamond would be a bonus. He said they're a waste of money other things in life are more important. He pays the bills and put a roof over our heads and food on the table be happy with that. I guess some people's dreams really do come true. It's nice to wish once in awhile. I'm happy for you. Nice video, nice finished result. I have technicly question- after soldered part of ring is no oxidation? Is it soldering with borax?
Hi , there’s no oxidation after soldering Platinum , You my find some stains but with a good polish and Rhodium you hardly see it , I always leave it cause it shows it was hand made and it shows carácter

It be like that sometimes people saves thousands of dollars just to have something like this done for 25 years. Trust me because i was one of those people lol when i was 13 i wanted a big chain now im 24 and i have that chain because of hard work lol

I've always believe platinum is the best mounting for top quality diamonds not white gold or even palladium All metals have pros and cons but the only metal that can be better than platinum is rhodium and I don't know why we haven't seen anyone making the most brilliant metal which is rhodium.
Hi nothing is made with Rhodium that I know , Rhodium is worth 28200.00 an ounce when Platinum is at 1200.00 an ounce , Rhodium is only use for electroplating only when you want a piece of jewelry to look very white , Platinum with 10 percent Iridium is the same white as Rhodium and it cost a lot less , and I have very little experience with Palladium , but I don’t get orders of jewelry in Palladium , this metal is very soft , Thank You
@@gastonrives3392 that is why I am interested in looking for someone to make the rarest metal for jewelry.✨💍✨If there is a market for natural color diamonds like 🍊orange, 🍎red & 🍇violet even though they are supra, ultra & extremely rare I don't see any reason why rhodium jewelries✨💍✨ can't be made available since they are readily available unlike many natural color diamonds.✨💎✨💎✨

A. I, too, was VERY interested in solid Rhodium rings. After doing much research and talking with many jewelers, I found out why it is almost impossible to make one:
Least of all is the cost - about 10X solid gold.
Most important is the very high melting point and poor malleability.
What this means is, the melting point is so high that it would be almost impossible to spin it into a cast for a ring before it would start to solidify. It would end up as a partial ring glob. Rhodium is ~1000 deg. higher melting point than Platinum and Platinum is very hard to cast.
The other method is to melt the rhodium into a thin flat long rectangle and bend it into a curve (a ring) and solder it shut with white gold. The only problem is the poor malleability which means it would crack and break as it is being bent because it is too brittle.
That is why I gave up trying to get a solid Rhodium ring made. The guy from London may have a point that if 20% Platinum is used, it may be malleable enough to make a ring. I suspect a jeweler would charge up to $10,000 USD to make one.

@@gastonrives3392 coz I've heard before someone is making rhodium jewelries. If few jewelers are making rhodium jewelries then there is fewer market to create for it. People who invests in precious metals could be interested in investing in rhodium jewelry.
