We just got a 1989 Holiday Rambler Crown Imperial 34 with 33,000 miles on it. Does have some minor issues and a broken water line from freezing. We took it locally for a trial run. Loved it!
I'll be honest, Mr. Dave. I watch your videos because of you! My lifelong dream is to one day be able to afford an RV. Don't think it'll happen. I'm now 73. S.S is very little! But I still can dream. and watching you and your videos makes me smile & feel good. You're terrific! Take care~
I just got a 1990 Holiday Rambler Imperial 37..... it’s got 46k miles but I’m having trouble finding the alternator and am trying to restore it. Any leads on where I can find parts and hard to find parts with in the vehicle and things I should check out? Any thing would be 👍
Depending on the chassis, odds are it's a regular chevy 454 or ford 460 alternator. Have your parts store look up one for a one ton pickup with that engine. Alternatively, you could pull the bad one and they can usually match one up. Worst case find a local electric shop to rebuild yours. Colaw RV has lots of used parts but most stuff is interchangeable with newer RVs like the water pump, furnace, a/c, etc.
totalsalessolutions well it’s a ford engine. And it’s got Chevy chassis. Harley and Gillig touched this particular model as well. And the alternator ...this is the dual output isolated terminal 160 amp high output in a small case. The company went out of business back in 2007 or so, I had it rebuilt but he could only get it powerful enough to run the motor. Hey as far as suspension on these old Imperials, how much does that usually run if ya gotta re do all of it? Thank you for answering my previous question. I’ve never owned an RV. Let alone worked on them. Picked this one up for 5k with a running engine, bad alternator, a small (fixed now) leak by the passenger window, and a clogged crapper tank. It’s been sitting in a drive way for years after sitting in a previous driveway for, only God knows how long in Washington state. Now I’ve gotten ahold of it and in the process of restoring it to its former glory. (With some modern and more compact amenities). It just made a drive from Colorado Springs to Dallas Texas with no radiator fan operation. I mean for a 30 year old RV that was given an oil change, fluids checked, new tires and a lot of praying 🙏....that RV just ran the gauntlet through New Mexico and Texas. I have to hand it to holiday rambler on that. And that old big block Ford “ticker”. Gas costs...let’s not talk about that....
@@Nm-co6zp that's because the vins go with the frames which are sold as a rolling chassis with an engine thus "incomplete" until the RV manufacturer builds it out
totalsalessolutions “until the manufacturer builds it out”.... so does that mean something is missing or is there something I need to do to have it as “complete”....did I make a bad purchase and get screwed? I’m sorry to bombard you with questions, however, I have searched the internet hard and have asked around for the better part of 4 months now and quite frankly, you have answered the questions I have not been able to find answers for. Also you mentioned you used to go far and wide in search of these particular RV’s. There’s a reason for that. Also with this reason comes knowledge that I just haven’t been able to locate and have just been kind of “winging it” as I diagnose and address each issue. So stumbling across this video in a “when all else fails, try RUclips” moment has been a blessing. Is there a place or something that has every little thing to possibly know about this particular RV? Or is finding “The Guy that knows” about them the only way, short of taking it to a shop? Shops take the fun out of getting to intimately know the workings of the Antique RV as well as take funding out of the pocketbook. I do have the maintenance/driver log, engine, transmission, generator, electrical and A/C books/binders that came with the RV when I purchased it. However I did not see anything in the pages about all of the other accessories and suspension/ master leveling system. I’ll hire someone for the suspension because I’m not getting under there. I’d still like to know everything about it and everything else on it and how it’s supposed to function. The problem is finding the information and the maintenance manuals. Thank you again for your time thus far. It’s genuinely appreciated.

Bonjour Wouah magnifique vôtre camping car il est vraiment trop beau ce camping car
They screwed it up by taking the dual wheels out and just having single wheels in front of the tag axle.
I have a question
Is there a large mirror in the back bedroom
I have a 1990 with 84,000 miles, not as good as condition as this one but i am having trouble finding a blinker lens cover
most RV lenses are originally off of cars or trucks. you just have to figure out which one.

totalsalessolutions oh and have you ever had an old RV have the VIN come back as “incomplete vehicle”?
