The onion slicer is called a Mandolin! :)
Your theme song is awesome!!! My dehydrator is coming in the mail tonight or tomorrow and this is the first thing I’m gonna make!
Thanks! love the look & the texture of the oven made.
The tremble in her voice when she admits she stole the dehydrator cuz she couldn't hold her laughter 😭😂😂😂
Thanks for showing us the process ❤ Great Jingle by the way 😊
Where did you get the grinder. I love it and would love to have one. Love video
Nice sis👍🏾‼️
God bless you all, Jeuss loves you all.
Liked the video, but please watch it yourself and count how many times you said, ‘ahead’, it is so annoying!!
I loved 💖 the way you showed both ways of making this Homemade Onion 🧅 powder since I don't have a Dehydrator. Thanks 🥰
Thank you hope you give it a try
Use cloth washing machine dryer.
@@BrotherXFactor are u serious?
@@ayodejianiyikaye4770 yea bro i was talking about the cloth spinner, but it might ruin your clothes afterwards.
For those wondering: the only difference is that your oven uses much more energy.
I find that the oven method imparts a slightly toasty flavour to the onion that someone may or may not be looking for, but that's just me. Could be some kind of association effect
Thank you so much ma'am, I grew far too many onions in the garden this year, this will help keep them from going to waste. Thanks again =)

Any thoughts on dehydration for long term storage? Just wondering about shelf life. Thanks for this wonderful tutorial!
Mylar bags...
Place your powdered goods within and add oxygen and moisture absorbing sachets, then heat seal.
Hope that helps.
What is the brand of the grinder please?
The oven kinda produces darker onions, but in reality, the color difference is in the grinding vs blending. Grinding things turns in finer power, and powders are alway lighter in color.
150-175 is too high ! i cook meat at that temp and its cooked in 2 hours !
its 50 the most for drying vegetables or fruit and make sure the oven door is slightly open so the steam can escape .
Hi, I have a question, does it retain the onion flavor or did it taste a little plain now? Thanks.
Bed Bath and beyond sells a dehydrator similar to that one I once had one I now have a smaller one nice dehydrator though
You are the best thankyou... Wish to know more recipes...
Thanks! What is the name of your grinder?
Y’all this onion powder is really good with oil rice Derrick where u at come testify !!! Soooo Good!
Please what can I get dehydrator in Nigeria to dry my onions
It’s called a mandolin…😁
Where did you buy the grinder
How do you store it without it going bad
Great working. That simple. I got a stoma this year. Can’t eat onions anymore. But I am a gardener. And I have a dryer, but not a big kitchen machine. Your way gave me a great help.❤
@SafeSpaceKitchenette, the differences in characterization between the two powders you showcase are likely the result of the increased temperature in your oven. Dehydrators are designed to efficiently dry at 140 degrees Fahrenheit. Oven temperatures also can vary in temperature significantly depending on design and whether there are hotspots or other defects.
I love that Caribbean lilt to your accent.
Just an idea...have you thought of approaching the manufacturer of the grinder to seek sponsorship from them or maybe an affiliation?
Thanks for uploading!
How many onions did you use for each method and what was amount of finished powder for each?
Also, name of grinder you used? Thanks!
Thank you for showing the more “common” tools as well!
The one on the right looks like the one called granulated onion powder. Thank you for showing both methods!
What brand is your grinder?
this is exactly what I was looking for! thank you =)
What's the temperature you used for your oven
Thanks for info on two ways to dehydrate. I have a gas stove so I am thinking this might be the cheapest way to dehydrate for me. Grateful for your help. Jesus bless.
Which one dry it faster oven or dehydrator?
Im mostly curious about the smell.
What kind of grinder do you have?
How long does it last if we were to keep it?
What kind of grinder is this?
Please can I sundry it
Another beautiful video! Good job👌🏾
150 to 175 what?
I can I dry it with sun
I like the more course one better then the powder, even though I have a grinder I may use the blender. Haven’t tried that. Thank you so much these videos
I did this with a red onion and it came out so. I’ll look to see if you have any video and you don’t! I hope you don’t abandon your channel? Do you have a new one? Also I love your background music
Ran across your page I subscribed
My friend worked with a chef. The guy put everything in. The crowns and the secomd skin. In fact there were loads of cut-offs besides whole onions. I've never had such a tasty powder. It makes store-bought powder pitiful.
How long does it last?
1 year, in closed container
IM NEW HERE AND TY SO MUCH FOR SHARING THIS WITH US I WAS WONDERING HOW TO DO MY ONIONS THIS WAY SO YEA THANK YOU,,PS MY CAPS BROKE SO LETTER IS BIG SORRY IM NOT YELLING LOL
what tge name of grinder
I'm wondering if it would better if after you ground it you passed it through a fine-meshed sieve, then put the powder back in the dehydrator again.
You have not given the name of the silver grinder that grinds the onion. What is the name of it?
i'm wondering if the smell is overpowering in your house while you're dehydrating the onions?
Yes I have one it smell overpowering sometimes. Put outside to dry to dehydrate
i love your grinder
Did you mention what temp to have the oven on? I’m not sure if I missed it
I love ur teaching, God bless you, please where can I get the onion slicer
Great video!! I have a large bucket onion & don’t know what to do with it.
Cant i just throw the onions in a food chopper/processor.
Whats the name of that grinder?
That machine/gizmo is called a food mandolin
Can u please share the make of the grinder
I prefer the coarse powder. Same with garlic powder.
Interesting can I keep this onion salt 1year?
What’s the name of that blender you used please?
What should be the temperature of oven?
the lowest possible
150° - 175° seems standard.
In effect, you are very gently cooking the item, if you think about it, so the lower the temperature the less the item is cooked, however, it takes longer to dry.
Slower drying also means less of the nutrients evaporate out.
How long do you dry it in the oven and at what temperature?
❤ thanks it's very helpful ❤
What’s this grinder called
Haitian? From north east?
Great video, here for first time.
where did you get get that grinder?

Thank you
This is awesome!! Thank you!!
Wow
❤
Um
Thanks for the lovely recipe
Just wanted to know what was your oven temperature? Thanks
150 to 175 depending on your oven the lowest temp for my oven is 175 I hope this helps
I love this video! Thank you so much for showing both ways to do the process! Very informative and helpful!!
Why no temperature for the oven or dehydrator?
She said in the oven it's 175° or the lowest temp on your oven.
Dehydrators come with fairly accurate drying times, but it's also dependent upon how much moisture the item being dried contains.
I usually place anything in kitchen towels for 20 mins first, which assists the drying enormously.
Love this ,to me the color of the powder would be ok for me .when home cooking soups are anything else know one would know lol..going to try this in my oven Thank you !!! 😇💐💐💐
Give yo momma her stuff back! 😡
Firssssssttt hereeee
Yayyyyy 🥰🥰🥰
Great info. Thank you!!!
Videos are really good but the only thing missing in some of them is the time-length of each process during in the recipe.
Well noted thank you
Greetings from Australia. I bought a Dehydrator to dry my herbs. I love it. Never thought of onions and garlic. Definitely making tomorrow. THANK YOU SO much. 😊
I hate RUclipsrs too many words pls use subtitles and mute only music
You cannot reasonably expect RUclipsrs to conform to what you, one single person (and only one of the fourteen *thousand* followers of this lady's channel!) requires.
In effect, you are asking them to suppress their nature.
Would you like to be subjected to that?
You have the option to use subtitles yourself, using _'Closed Captions',_ or did you not know that?
Besides, for this lady to employ subtitles herself costs time and money.
Are you willing to pay her the extra costs?
Smh and lol.
9 hours 😮 nvm 😆 I’ll buy onion powder until I can invest in a dehydrator 😂 but thank you! I learned how to do it 🤍
