As a white man with a neuropsychologically based disability, one thing I've learned really early in life is that society expects a lot more from people who look like me. Despite being born with organic speech impairments, I've had to learn to speak the King's English, knowing that I could never get away with anything less. I've had to learn to keep my irritability under wraps even in environments where I'm overwhelmed and overstimulated, knowing that I can be judged negatively for behaving like anything less than the perfect gentleman. I can't drive due to my disability but have had to be as self sufficient as possible, using active transportation, knowing that this is what's expected of me. If I were a woman, particularly an attractive woman I could easily have free, on- demand transportation for life. If you're a white man, the world demands the sun, the moon, and the stars of you but scarcely affords any protections or allowances to you, whatsoever, for any reason.
I'm 67 and retired, never married. I think the change in women, so they're no longer wifey, happened during the protest years of the 1960's. And yeah, the pill, abortion, shoulder pads in business suits and then came....
It really started when teenage girls who got pregnant were allowed to stay in high school and they weren't shamed about it anymore. I remember in the early seventies and before girls were sent away to have the baby and most were forced to put up for adoption. Even single adult women who got pregnant were shamed for being unwed mothers. Now it's the popular thing to do, because they don't need a man. Well, they did need for at least one session!
I enjoyed your video Erin. Somehow RUclips put it on my "recommended" list. What a blast from the past! I read the book, The Manipulated Man over 50 years ago and it had a profound effect on my life. I adored women before I read that book and treated my wife like she was a goddess. Most men back then did the same. Within about 2 years after reading that book I asked my wife for a divorce. When we were married she was like a little girl. Not really there as a partner but as someone I always had to do things for. I had bought her a new house, car and expensive clothes because I felt my status in life was being judged by how my wife was seen. I have now been single for 50 years and am 81 years old. I have had such a wonderful life with several long term relationships but I never got remarried. After reading the book I had a clear picture of what life with a woman was about. I even checked out the book from the library and reread it about 10 years ago to see what was written that changed my attitude so much about women. Don't get me wrong, I love women, but I see what they are doing and I have just played along. I gave you a big "like" but there is no need for me to subscribe. My days of dating are over and I KNOW what these women of today are up to.
You can always click cancel the free subscription... So click and enjoy for a few wks listening while you workout or do chores or drive and you'll be glad you gave it a chance
Home boy, it's amazing how these podcasts discussing men's issues bring to attention the tropes with women we think might only be happening to you but find the sheer opposite of everything we were taught or the narrative of how we treat girls and women in the 60s, 70s and 80s, is a complete hustle .
Was that book popular when it came out 50 years ago? And what was dating like in the 70s? I think women were more attractive in the 70s than any other decade.
@@brianbard3410 Please use some commas. I almost passed out reading your comment because I couldn't hesitate to take a breath. lol. It sure was a hustle how we as men were taught to treat women.
When I found my second wife (she found me) she had just started a home-based desktop publishing/graphic design business and I moved across the country to help her with it. She was very industrious and was the love of my life.
Thank you Erin and all of you today for reading my petition and my need of prayer and your intent in the chat to send that energy 🙏 and to ask God for help with my current situations in health and family and other personal issues. So many of you I'm thankful for and obviously Erin and lolita( lola) I'm very keen to animals and they too are God's big helpers in many ways. Thank you again and God bless you all!
As a college student in 1986, I noticed Dallas was becoming unfit for raising a family, so I read an article in the paper listing the top conservative states and cities in America. I moved to the top state. Then transferred my credits and changed my major. Graduated and got married the same year. Found a good fulltime desk job. Bought a new car. Had four awesome kids. I think location and going to where the moral Christian young women will be is how to find a moral Christian wife. You have to do research and take real steps to get a good family situation.
Erin , you are describing the whole Gilmore girls of the 90s. How Lorali, comes home to find hometown handyman Luke. Blue collar flannel shirt wearing, the LOVE of her life.
I think I saw a movie version of this story that followed your Puss in Boots story quite closely. I think it was produced by Golan and Globus who produced several movies based on "fairytales" some decades back.
Pro choice-Doesn’t mean supporting every choice, being pro gun doesn’t mean supporting every gun crime, being pro marriage doesn’t mean supporting every poor marriage, being pro individual doesn’t mean supporting narcissistic behavior, being pro independence doesn’t mean supporting breach of contract, being a human means making choices and living with respect and loyalty. Decide what you support and let others know. Thank you for trying to help.
I would be interested to listen to your thoughts on the old norse poen Havamal. It is the king of the gods, Odin, giving a man advise on how to live a good life. I recommend the Jackson Crawford translation as he also gives greater context about the poem.
I'm 48. Never married, never dated, never been with anyone. Not because "zOmG w0mEn aRe So AwFUL!' but because I'd rather be myself. It keeps life simple. I don't bother anyone and they don't bother me. Why must marriage be the end goal for everyone?
I have unswerving faith in mankind. We will eventually figure out a new way, replacing old/outdated institutions such as legal marriage, work, religious establishments, education, politics etc.
Today we have Karen, back then they had Trina. 😆 Interestingly, in dutch/flemish "Trien/Triene" is an old fashioned derogatory term for a boorish woman. Can't have words like that anymore today.
Hmmmm, so the cat became a man’s best friend?! I smell something fishy in Denmark! Lol. I guess the message might be along the lines of “Cats are people too”! Not sure if the cat food is still a thing, but I remember “Puss-n-boots” brand canned cat food while growing up. Now I know the Grimm back story to it.
I would not trust any current books if I were you. The current directive is to replace anything "offensive" with the corrected versions. You already seen this in entertainment, the time for books has begun.. They will reprinted, and added to sale; in your minds, you think it is the same book, but it won't be. And the minds of men are easily manipulable.. Keep a tight hold over your old books, and stay away from anything new or reprinted/revised...
@@Ron88909 I'll say this much: nobody understands the Bible. Any translation after the KJV 1611 all were simplified and offered only one possible meaning. The Bible is the most complex book in existence, and there is no translation that accurately describes what the original text meant. The gold rule to the Bible is: if the text is easily understood, something is not right.

If a woman wants to break up her family. If she even so much as thinks it. She deserves to be alone. No second chances.

Fascinating. Even the "old" versions had already been tampered with..
You forgot one small but important detail about Hallmark movies. The girl is usually already seeing somebody but he works too much.
Thanks again you sweet thing. MIGTOW for life - very funny to hear you say that but true these days for most men..

In espanol, her name might be la’trina!
After her family changed it from Shithouse
P you know what strange is Rocky and Bullwinkle fractured fairy tales or actually pretty much accurate to the actual

What if women simped for men? Would that be forwards or backwards?
My impression is that women need faith / piety, otherwise they don't feel a need to be moral.
That would be appropriate.
But really I do not want that, and it is irritating. Treat me like a human being that you respect.
