49:26 is probably why your dive hooks and snaps in easily. Seen somewhere that it is removed to make it easier. Mine is a bear to hook up. Your videos, amongst others, help me decide to get one. Here's what I know. Have spare cable or upgrade before going out. Bliss Fabrication seat risers are a must and helps clear the steering knob. Fits 17x14 crate. Buying direct saved me over 75 in "protective packaging" fees which is the exact same packaging from the factory...Eco Fishing.

I got this Feel free moken 10 PDL a couple weeks ago. Its the first kayak Ive owned.
My son has had his paddle kayak for a few years now. He told me if I was going to buy new I should get a paddle drive. That took me on a month long journey researching and stopping at just about a dozen different kayak and canoe shops, looking and asking questions. Then came across this video.
I had never heard of Feel Free up until seeing one of your videos on the Moken 10 PDL. I don’t know why, but when I saw it I was like thats the one… But non of the shops I had previously visited has any feel frees on hand. But I stopped by the small shop a few miles down the road from my house (I don’t know why it was the last place I stopped at) and to my surprise they had almost every model of feel free on display.
Its not the fanciest kayak. But the moken 10 PDL is great for the money. Im going to get at least one more moken 10 pdl so my other kids can go with my older son and me if they want.
As for a drive hole plug/cover cut a harbor freight $5 kneeling pad (sku 56572)
The foam is soft enough to creat a good seal, as well as its firm enough it can be stood on and not push through because of the lip in side of the drive hole. The color and textured pattern is very close to the feel free EVA deck foam.
I made scupper plugs with some of the left over kneeling pad. Using a hole saw with the center bit removed. I don’t know how often Ill use the scupper plugs. But I figured I have the material and it’s probably better to have them & not need them, then need them and not have them.
Thanks Aliex for all the great kayak info.

@@ALIEXKAYAKTEST I’m primarily using the moken right now. But they are probably going to end up being for my kids to use. I Have a NuCanoe deal worked out with another shop not too far from my house. I haven’t pulled the trigger yet because I’m waiting to see you flip an U10 before I commit. lol
Also, is there anyway you could maybe do a short video kind of showing the size difference between the moken and U10?

Id love to see a comparison of all the 10ft kayaks, my buddy has the old town but thats not really in my price range as of right now, definitely looking at the moken 10 as my first pedal kayak

this moken would be the bottom tier if you compared to some other 10 foot pedal drives.... if you are a hardcore fisherman, i strongly suggest spending a little extra on a native or old town. i cannot believe how dissatisfied i was with the feel free.

    • @HishUnderscore

@ds-zd9qz then you'll be happy to hear that I found a used Native slayer propel 13 for a bit cheaper then the moken.

Just got mine and having issues where the latch on the drive doesnt reach the tab to lock the drive in place ? About an inch of space needed to reach the tab. It seems the tab is a bit too low for the latch to swing over and reach 😢

I wish I didn't have to sell my Old Town PDL 106 but I need the money right now. I have downgraded to this Feel Free Moken 10 PDL due to its similarity in size and the PDL drive. Plus having smaller kids at home, I don't get to take out my kayak much so no point of having such a nice Old Town just sitting at home. I think this FeelFree will do me just fine for going out time to time. Love this review and the guy is SOOOOOOO nice and cool! I just hate how the rudder one lay all the way down and it sticks up, haha.

the moken is a nice boat for sure, the wheel in the back helps a lot too, thanks for the nice comment, yes the rudder sticking out sucks

@@ALIEXKAYAKTEST I had the feelfree lure 13.5. I hated that kayak. I bought it waiting for the pedal drive to drop for it. That got delayed. Then found out if I waited for the pedal drive I would have to cut into my front hatch to install it. Was a big mess. Gen 1. So I sold the kayak because it sucked paddling it more than most other kayaks.

This kayak has a problem (in my poor opinion) at the pedal system. Use a belt to transfer the movement to the propeller. Can you imagine if that belt break and you are at the ocean??? Think about...
