Once again, Bruce Meyer shows why he is one of the best and most astute collectors in the world. Bruce loves to drive his cars and share them with the world, he doesn't just hide them away never to be seen again. And this video shows why the smaller italian marques like Bizzarrini and Iso deserve just as much respect as Ferrari, Lamborghini, etc. Fantastic video Jay!

In response to Jay's question toward the end regarding turn signals at LeMans: Yes. Back in the '60s even prototypes were required to have working turn signals. Smaller displacement prototypes and GT cars, knowing that they would be passed regularly by the larger displacement prototypes and GT cars, would frequently use their turn signals to let the faster cars know that they were aware of their presence and which side of the track they would be running, especially when approaching corners, and especially at night.
Absolutely correct! In that time period even the prototypes were required to have under chassis clearance of about 4", perhaps it was 100mm. I have a photograph someplace of inspection at LeMans where quite literally a box the height of the required clearance was being shoved under a car. This was eventually dropped as ground effects aero technology required less clearance.

Check out a guy called Wray Schelin’s ProShaper workshop on RUclips he has excellent methods of patterning and developing and replicating these shapes of you want to do it yourself. Also I’d argue that the Jag XK 120 was one of the first cars with slab sides but possibly by accident than by aerodynamic design
Beside is the only one.. Ferrari have 38-39 of the 250GTO, Ford did build a few Ford GT40.. but this , this is so way ahead of all mentioned and the most beautiful one ! Nice to have a collection with each one car mentioned side by side but damn even in replica form would be so nice to admire from up close each car build with strong passion for racing and very nice shapes.. ;)
This car is amazing. I believe I saw a Bizzarini at an Italian event in Monterey a few years ago. I did not understand the car at all at that time. Jay was at that event on a golf course. This particular car really is one of those once in a life time cars for the tenth of the people who can afford it or less. So for Bruce to have shared this car with all of us via Jay Leno is completely a treat and totally wonderful. AF
Ive always liked this Bruce Meyer individual, and apart from seeing him in the high boy deuce episode and the Porsche amelia island piece, I was hoping to see him again on the channel and despite my being a Le Mans and 60s racing aficionado, along with always enjoying history and development regarding as such, I was not aware of this vehicle at all! This was a spectacular episode in my view, and I really enjoyed it, and think it was one of the best ones in recent memory. Thanks Jay!
oh I wasn't aware, thanks! I was blown away to see that Bruce owns the 935/K3 Porsche from 1979, and ive been interested in seeing what other cars he has too.
+IdontAlwaysCommentBut WhenIdoYouLikeit Yeah cost's 25¢ to make $45 for the shipping accross the Pacific. We do things so backwards these days it's depressing. Even fine itialian Campagnollo is now made in Tiawan. All for profit to hell with employing local machinists.
Stu Dumpster yes, and it kills the working class. I was a master Mercedes tech and quit because I realized there's no way to make a living anymore from skilled labor. And btw, shimano is an evil empire taking over the cycling world and Campagnolo has followed their business model. I digress.
+IdontAlwaysCommentBut WhenIdoYouLikeit I was told at an early age to avoid working on cars by a mechanic. I honestly just about went to school to become a network Tech then I realized it would be setting up banks buisnesses etc... So now here I sit too woke to work for money. I ride a bike everywhere. Surly Krampus with Shimano cranks, because the fixing bolt on SRAM always fails and my local as its gonna be FSA is garbage. Honestly wondering whats left to do thats good besides building and remodeling houses as thats what I do best. I would love to go back to sleep because I find being too woke is depressing. I tried watching football no joy. Making music is a great outlet but tough when no one is around to jam with. I still watch allot of car shows on YT it reminds me of when I was a young rotorhead. Keep on fighting. I honestly think bitcoin is an invention to destabilize the dollar we may see some great things in the future or our children will be handing their Social security checks to the Chinese as they pretty much own US.
This is simply the very best car Jay's ever had on the show. It's the epitome of Italian design yet makes the best of small, revvy American OHV V8. I am in love. ♥
Rem Olmsted owned a restaurant in Rome in the Trastevere district on the West bank of the Tiber river that runs through Rome. The opera singer, Claude Heater, who had a villa that attached to the villa of the famous Mario Del Monaco, who was to play "The Christ" in "Ben Hur" ate there a few times before either he or Rem were cast for their roles in "Ben Hur". Born June 15, 1913 in Los Angeles, California, USA Died April 7, 2002 in Rome, Lazio, Italy Birth Name Remington Olmsted
I had a 1966 Chevelle with the same 327 and the same Muncie 4 speed. That car sounded exactly like my Chevelle with the high revving short stroke 327 and the Muncie whine. I miss that car.
You have to appreciate the fact that Bruce Meyer takes care of all these important vehicles. Currently at the Peterson museum his cars are all undisplay and they are 100% magnificent. If you're in LA and you are a car guy head there immediately. You won't be disappointed.
Hey Jay in the 1970s I worked with the greatest movie Stunt driver at that time Cary Loften, Cary had 2 or 3 Bizzarrini at that time his favorite car.
@@shanedoyle1057 thanks for sharing. I didnt knew him before and his channel looks absolutely amazing
@@288gto7 It sure is. He really explains the techniques behind everything. He has an excellent playlist where he reproduces an Etype bonnet 👍
Somebody give @RamblinAround the money right now! Yeah yeah, im writing that cheque too.
That cross intake and carbs look really badass and something cool and different on that Chevy small block.
Gorgeous! From the golden era of race cars...
wewd tool
You know it bro.
yeah, its pretty for sure
Beside is the only one.. Ferrari have 38-39 of the 250GTO, Ford did build a few Ford GT40.. but this , this is so way ahead of all mentioned and the most beautiful one ! Nice to have a collection with each one car mentioned side by side but damn even in replica form would be so nice to admire from up close each car build with strong passion for racing and very nice shapes.. ;)
wewd love your pic!😂
This car is amazing. I believe I saw a Bizzarini at an Italian event in Monterey a few years ago. I did not understand the car at all at that time. Jay was at that event on a golf course. This particular car really is one of those once in a life time cars for the tenth of the people who can afford it or less. So for Bruce to have shared this car with all of us via Jay Leno is completely a treat and totally wonderful. AF
Jay are you feeling OK? Even if you spilled some oil on your denim, you must have a spare at the shop..
The lines and proportions of this car are absolutely gorgeous.
Thanks Jay!
Bruce and this car were recently featured on Petrolicious on the track.
oh I wasn't aware, thanks! I was blown away to see that Bruce owns the 935/K3 Porsche from 1979, and ive been interested in seeing what other cars he has too.
Went to a Italian car festival in Baltimore in 2007 and the was a Bizzarrini "rivet car". Completely fell in love with the Bizzarrini.
The car, the story etc. is completely insane, however I believe we can all agree that the polo shirt was the biggest suprise..
Don’t know what’s sexier , the body or the engine! That car is amazing! And kudos to the owner for actually driving it still.
Well I'm glad Jay managed to get enough money to buy a new shirt
Bharath Naveen shirts are expensive these days don't ya know?
Damn. That's paradise on wheels! 💋
and the noise from it, the gear change at 18:42 - that growl :)
Wow...breath takingly beautiful..right up there with the Alfa Stradale and the GTO.
Has there ever been a video of Jay driving where he didn't drift out of his lane?
i think that's because of the camera sticking out of the passenger side. Jay doesn't want to hit anything with it.
its obvious you're the far better driver
Lol. Driving a priceless automobile and just swerving everywhere.
@@ConservativeGangstR as Jay always says, "American muscle cars were basically built to go in a straight line, thats what theyre good for".
@@bobgemale1312 I wouldn't exactly call his style of driving "straight ". Lol
I saw a few of these race at Spa Classic, the noise these things made was gorgeous. Highlight of the weekend.
Rem Olmsted owned a restaurant in Rome in the Trastevere district on the West bank of the Tiber river that runs through Rome. The opera singer, Claude Heater, who had a villa that attached to the villa of the famous Mario Del Monaco, who was to play "The Christ" in "Ben Hur" ate there a few times before either he or Rem were cast for their roles in "Ben Hur". well said!
I had a 1966 Chevelle with the same 327 and the same Muncie 4 speed. That car sounded exactly like my Chevelle with the high revving short stroke 327 and the Muncie whine. I miss that car.
288 GTO! Please Jay, if there is a way, make it happen people!
Love it, 30 years in a museum and now racing and driving on the streets. Thank you.
OH MY GOSHAH THE BIZZERRINI I DROOLED SINCE BRUCE SHOWED IT TO ADAM CAROLLA I'M ALL CAPS I DON'T CARE
I knoW!!!!! ITS SO DAMN AWESOME!!! :)
FANTASTICO wonderful story.. What a car incredibly beautiful, a soundtrack to stir the blood, Thank you!!
Whoooa no cowboy denim today jay😦😦😦
Every Taylor Special car calls for a special shirt!
Ya, but Ill bet he's wearing the same pair of underwear as 20 years ago.
Respect when respect is demanded. Bruce Meyer.
Who is your drawers monitor?
Coolyards the underpants nome from South Park keeps me up do data on these matters .🤣
You have to appreciate the fact that Bruce Meyer takes care of all these important vehicles. Currently at the Peterson museum his cars are all undisplay and they are 100% magnificent. If you're in LA and you are a car guy head there immediately. You won't be disappointed.
That "the air was much cleaner back then" joke never get old
It isn't a joke. Its true.
@@bluespig1 Not in Los Angeles.
Eric Hensel LA is a hellhole now.
Nothing more interesting to me than 2 car guys talking cars. Especially when they know what they're talking about. Love the history too. Awesome car.
Hey Jay in the 1970s I worked with the greatest movie Stunt driver at that time Cary Loften, Cary had 2 or 3 Bizzarrini at that time his favorite car. He had so many tickets over the yrs that as he said he was banned from having a license in the U S so he drove with a Hong Kong lic. Wonder what happened to those cars?.
Cary should have moved to Montana
I was already digging it, but when he said it's got a Chevy small block, I fell in love.
2:30 I'm italian, we're exactly like that ;) 😂😂
3:45 !
I love the de-acceleration snorts & pops, brings back memories of my 1000.00 dollar Datsun 1800cc / 160 hp engine I had in 1976 ...
