I'm a list maker; everyday I make a to-do list, but always struggle with time management. A counselor told me to only put those things on the list that I would take immediate action on, otherwise the rest of it just becomes a reminder of all the things that I didn't get done instead of motivation to do them. Also remind yourself of all the little "5 minute" things that you do get done, and keep going. All that adds up to productivity (and will also take away time if left to the last minute). And that's why I listen to 2 Biz Talks at the same time... total multi-tasking! JK... I have to listen and concentrate on every word Habib says, lol 🤣
The free knowledge is soo great. I have never bought any of your products but I know it’s great stuff. Now that you guys offer the bundles I’ll be able to start and get better! Young nails has inspired me to get back into the nail game after this pandemic. Thanks to young nails I now have more confidence at work, and more drive to learn even more! Im so excited every day to come into work to practice their techniques. I can never thank them enough! I can’t wait to get my first bundle! Thank you 🙏🏽
Love these biz talks! Keep up the good work guys!! When I know it’s going to be hectic day, I make sure to pack quick healthy snacks so I can keep my energy going. Plus HYDRATE, HYDRATE, HYDRATE!! I’ll bring my energy drink of choice but never forget the water!
My problem is when someone springs a surprise on you. For example, your client is scheduled for a regular fill and she walks in and says I think I want to totally change my nail shape.. or, someone who doesn’t usually do nail art all of a sudden wants something I’ve never done before, but didn’t have the extra time scheduled. Do you just tell her you can’t do it? I’m booked ahead for weeks so I can’t just tell her she’ll have to come back later for it. And it’s usually for some special occasion you weren’t aware of so it’s not some thing they want to just do next appointment. I feel like this happens all the time
This is a very common challenge that a lot of techs struggle with! Being open and honest with your clients from the start is important. Let them know when you are scheduling their next appointment that you are only scheduling a basic fill (or whatever service they are having). Make sure to ask them if they will want anything additional at that time so you can schedule them accordingly. If they don't tell you then, let them know that most likely you won't have time if they change their mind at the last minute. Also, let your clients know that if they find a design in between appointments, they can send you the pic and if you are able to add it in to their appointment, you will, but if they don't add it at the original scheduling, it may not be possible. If a client does come in and wants something different than what they scheduled, it is ok to tell them you don't have time at that appointment. When you have another client right after, it's not fair to that client to run into their scheduled time.
Because of my shoulder I have to spread my clients during the week, since I've noticed when I work 8 hours straight it kills my shoulder and neck. I'm doing better now that I only do 2 or 3 clients a day
Tracey can usually do fills in around 30 minutes. You would discuss with your client prior to the appointment about what design they want, hopefully with a photo, and then add the additional time you think you need for the design.
There are a bunch of different apps out there these days! I would first figure out what your needs are in a scheduling app. Are you just looking for scheduling clients, something you can schedule business and personal, something for POS transactions? Once you know your own specifics, I would recommend getting on the YN Facebook community and asking what people use. This way you can find what lots of people use and find the right one for your specific needs.
But how do you time manage when your actually doing the service? That what I struggle with. How do You do a great/clean set of nails in a timely manor?
Some of it is little things, like seasoning your files before clients come in or having enough sets of your tools for each client so you are just clean them all at the end of the day instead of in between services like Tracey would have. Some things just come with practice and time and they become muscle memory and then you get quicker doing them. Before social media, the best forms of advertising were your own nails and your current clients! Make sure that you are always wearing your nails and when people compliment them, make sure to have business cards with you so you can hand them out. Talk with your clients and let them know that you are trying to build your clientele. Ask them if they would be willing to carry a few of your cards with them so any time their friends compliment them, they can give a card. You can also do a referral program for your current clients. For every client they refer (that actually comes in for a service) your current client would receive a discount or a free nail art design (or whatever else you can come up with that doesn't take away too much of your income). Even something like a sliding scale... refer one client, get 10% off, two clients 20% off etc..

In love with the lesson.. Me an a beginner ... Wow
Horror story just this past weekend. I had a 3:00pm appointment didn’t get in the chair until 4:40pm!
I needed this soooo bad ❤️❤️❤️🙏🔥
you are so right guys
Because of my shoulder I have to spread my clients during the week, since I've noticed when I work 8 hours straight it kills my shoulder and neck. I'm doing better now that I only do 2 or 3 clients a day
My problem is gaining clientele. Then the clientele I already have want early mornings or late nights. So i have dead time between 1-4
Looking for clarification. Refill and gel design on the 15?

@@youngnailsinc yes. that's great advice. I have an issue with time management.
What time managing app/ personal calendar do you recommend?

What’s up with the audio? It doesn’t sound like it usually does. It sounds like they’re echoing. Doesn’t sound like they’re talking in a mic.
It’s like the room has no sound absorption. I was wondering if it was just my migraine which has just started to start.🤢🥴😖🙂
We accidentally forgot to press start on the audio recorder. 😂🙈We felt the information was too valuable to scrap this episode though!
@@youngnailsinc 😅 I knew something was different. But nonetheless, I always tune in. 😅
