Thanks for sharing, it took me a half a day to create the template and now I am ready to share it with my colleagues. Your short cuts were very helpful and you showed me a couple of tools I had never used before. FYI, I plan to pay winners of each round with candy or snacks, it adds to the fun. Some players like certificates as long as you make them fun enough to give them bragging rights. We plan to make each game theme or subject specific so each round helps to tell the story we want them to learn, like how to be a better leader, manage your office records, keeping your workplace safe, etc. We might also do some just for fun that just support team building.
Found this tutorial yesterday, built this game and it's awesome! Just have other questions.. I'd like to add sounds when the pick the correct/wrong letters, is that possible? I also wanted to add like a intro game show sound when the game starts. Is that possible?

As far as the cheesy music is concerned I do have a paid subscription with audioblocks.com, which provides a wide range of licence free music and sound effects, but I realise that it's not a cheap option. I know there are lots of RUclips channels offering creative commons licenced music, so you may be able to find something suitable there?

Prepare all slides. Select first slide. Go to Transitions and choose one, add a sound (e.g. camera), duration 2:00secs, check the Advance slide on Mouse Click box. Then "Apply to all". After the first word is solved, click with your mouse and you advance to next slide. Worked for me. Hope it does for you.
This works great! Thanks. How can I add sound effect only when the letter appears on the phrase board. I assume we only need to add it to the first letter since they all appear at once if used but i only want the sound when the letter shows on the board NOT if the letter is not used.

Now I explain to you why I'm so interested.
I used to teach the knowledge of Bible verses using a game based on Flash called Hangaroo.
I could use it preparing by myself the Bible phrases to guess for my Bible students.
Starting from 12 January 2021 Windows 10 has completely deleted Adobe Flash Player from my system and I am not able to use Hangaroo anymore.
That's why I'm searching for a similar way to use this method to help my students.
I'm not able to apply what you explain about the use of power point. It goes beyond my ability.
But, may I ask you if you have something to give me that could enable me to do what I used to do with Hangaroo giving me the possibility to put my own Phrases to guess ?
I'll be very thankful if you will be able to help me in my teaching work.

I love this game! I cannot figure out how to change the empty boxes to a different color than the boxes where the letters of the phrase are placed. Any tips would be helpful!!
Great video - BUT for some reason after I've done all the animation etc, when I try to 'play' the puzzle nothing shows in the center boxes. I see the letters I've chosen start to appear at the bottom, but all the center boxes remain blank. I've spent HOURS on this and about to cry! Hope someone can help me, I'm sure it's something simple I'm overlooking, but I've watched video over and over and can't figure out what!!
Without seeing the file it's difficult to know what the problem might be. It's probably something simple. I do offer my Patreons a service which lets them send me files and I take a look to try to fix them, if you're interested?
How do you make the boxes light and the others dark? Also if the template box was used as a puzzle by mistake, will saving any empty template puzzle work?
Thanks for this awesome tutorial. I think I did something wrong though. When I finished and put in my own phrase, no matter what letter I pick from the top, the letter A, then B, etc fill in the spaces. Can you help please?
Sorry, I must have missed this question before. All I did was select the dark gray tiles where the word was going to be placed, and changed the fill colour to match the letter tile fill colour. Hope that helps!

A simple way would be to add an exit animation (besides the pre-existing ones) to the buttons and set it to take place "with previous".

Just Shift + click on the boxes you don't need and then change their fill colour using the Shapes menu at the top of the ribbon.
