Amazing! Smart using gloves and cleaning the sides. I certainly didn't do that on reassembly...
This comment caught my attention. I consider touching any of the optical elements a faux pas - in standard operation.
I'm unsure of what an assembly procedure might demand from me, but I'm sure it's more.
Why are incorrectly sized and incorrectly fitted face masks shown in a company promotional video? This is an easily addressed source of contamination.
The masks are probably excessive if they're working in a cleanroom. I worked in a Class 1000 cleanroom and all we needed was a thin cloth barrier to prevent spit from getting onto our samples. The HEPA filters and laminar flow kept dust and other particles under control. Are you talking about the woman who had gaps to the side of the mask? The sample in front of her would be safe from moisture from her nose or mouth.
A lot of work is necessary to make the best quality products
This is one of the best explanations I’ve ever seen of how to manufacture and assemble a multi element lens. Q: so there is no need to paint flat black on the edges of each lens element?
Thank you! Painting the edges black can reduce stray light in the system, so it is done in cases where that is a priority
(Sept 2023) - Thanks for your comment on my question. Great! I have seen some lens assemblies with painted edges of flat black on certain elements On another topic, are you excited about the invention of miniature Metalens? These can make Photonics even more possible. Please see RUclips link...
