Decluttering always makes me feel better/alleviates guilt around unused items, and gets me excited for what im keeping all over again. Hope you feel the same when you're done!
I love watching declutters, so thanks for sharing this! If you ever feel like filming your actual declutter process of your singles and reorganizing them, I love watching that stuff, as well!
I hear you: coming to terms with our own overconsumption isn't easy. But you did such a good job with this declutter and kept your overall goal in mind. Thanks for giving us a glimpse into your very colorful collection! Some of the decisions you made shocked me (in the best way).
This is definitely inspiring. I need to learn to let things go and pass them on so they can get loved by others. Especially palettes I used to love but don't ever reach for anymore. Our taste change and evolve and I feel guilty hoarding things I am not using. ❤ You did great! 😊
I’m simultaneously surprised by some of your declutters but also was expecting it. I think it makes sense in how you explained your makeup tastes / style these days versus how I do my makeup. I like how thorough your explanations are - really makes me think through my own collection. I’ve decluttered 30+ palettes the past few years but there are some others that probably don’t bring me as much joy as others
Yeah I even surprised myself with some of the choices! But honestly it felt SO good to let things go and I honestly think in like 3 more months I’ll want to get rid of another 3rd at least…
Eyeing my 25-or-so bin of decluttered palettes while I watch this. It’s one thing to say I’m done with this one vs actually exiting my home and making its way elsewhere lol
Oh, I have two of those glamlite palettes. One unopened. I bought most of them on sale then a killer deal on the whole collection so I own two of all except the purple one.
Aww thank you so much Ivy, that is so incredibly sweet! By the way, I am so proud of you for doing this! I know from experience the sheer dread of an impending declutter of this magnitude! It has never been something I could do with ease, or without a LOT of foot dragging. 👏👏👏👏
I love that you went through and chatted about every palette. I don’t usually watch declutter videos over an hour long but your voice is so soothing so I played it while I was washing dishes and cleaning my clients apartment. 🫶🏻🫶🏻 do you sell on Mercari?
So glad you found it relaxing! That is what I was hoping for 💗 I don’t currently sell on Mercari and was planning to “list” palettes for sale through my IG but I may consider a platform like that since it’s going to be a fair amount.
Great job Ivy! I'm also doing a single shadow purge soon so this was just the motivation I needed to get rid of old stuff. It was also nice to watch while I washed my brushes 😅
You did a great job! I loved listening to you talk about different formulas, what no longer serves you, and your makeup journey! I also feel very similar about my Shroud palettes. I’m thinking of finally parting with mine.
You have/had an amazing collection. I am so bummed that i didn't get the moonlit marsh when it was available, it was still on their website up till around a month or two ago
I saw it! I have to say I think it looks really pretty... been trying to decide if I want to pick it up or hold off. Having gotten through this declutter I feel less inclined to bring in new shadow actually.
I really enjoeyed your thorough explanation for each of the palettes and your preferences for letting stuff go. But I got kind of mad/ sad when you were rushing through your singles. I get that energy gets low at the end of such a long video and filming and I get that you want to get rid of a lot there. But I missed the explanation and I loved when you did BYOP and it seems you dont want/ wont be able to do that now and I just wanted an explanation, although I know you dont owe anyone that really.
I understand, and in looking back I think perhaps I should have filmed my singles declutter separately so that my energy would have been higher by the end (I was feeling really exhausted by that point and had been filming for like almost 4 hours!). BUT in truth, I was also really slashing and dashing singles because I find less and less that's how I do my makeup and the size of that collection was giving me anxiety. Within the palettes I still have, many of them are magnetic and I am still keeping some singles which will allow me to do BYOPs if I want to, but put a lot less focus on an area of my collection that was actively collecting dust. At first I felt a lot of guilt around this, but I've found the healthier way to look at it is that tastes change and that's ok and it's better to accept it than to actively deny it's happened! Hope that long-winded response makes sense.
I feel about Blend Bunny, how you do about Bella Beaute Bar. I have many of the matte shades I want in my collection because of them. I tried to like BBB, but couldn't get the hang of blending with their mattes, and felt so frustrated because they have such sweet color stories. But I'm glad they work for you. :)
shroud still is around. she did dissapear for a couple months surrounding the Dark Arcademia palette with some sort of mental struggle I think. definite unprofessional. But she came back and fullfilled all the orders and sent our coupon codes for next orders as an apology. I ordered the Dark Academia AFTER all that drama and it arrived within days of me ordering. I feel bad for her and get everyone's gripe with hearing nothing for months. But damn so i love their color stories and formulas. I've followed them since they were Strobe Cosmetics
I came to the same conclusion as you this year but was more horrified about how much money I spent and wasted. I had over 500 palettes and I’m not a content creator like you. I have given many to friends and family and now a friend is selling ones I cull out for me to recoup a small % of what was spent plus I get to bless my friend with a big % too because she’s doing all the work. I’m now trying not to buy anything for a long while as I work my way through using all the palettes and culling more out.
I am going to be making a lot of the easier to ship items available for purchase soon and giving away the more delicate stuff to local friends so hopefully no trash apart from anything really broken! I have a big storage bin where I keep all my larger palettes and smaller bins for the smaller stuff. At some point I may do a video of my makeup table/storage.
Ivy this was such an incredible video watching you break down the changes of your preferences and just really being honest with yourself about your collection. I feel a great purge coming my way soon as well and this has really deeply inspired me to get on it. Always love what you do and I am always honored being reminded we are mutuals on Instagram
Ahh thank you so much for this (completely made my day)! I am thrilled if literally even only one person gets inspired to re-look at what they have too :) It felt really amazing to get clarity on what things do and don't work for me.
Now it's a decrease in quality and an increase in prices. There is no reason to buy genuine products, it's better to buy counterfeit products with even better quality than genuine ones kislux
Decluttering always makes me feel better/alleviates guilt around unused items, and gets me excited for what im keeping all over again. Hope you feel the same when you're done!
I feel SO much better after the decluttering and honestly have very little guilt because I know how I want to move forward in a better way!
I love watching declutters, so thanks for sharing this! If you ever feel like filming your actual declutter process of your singles and reorganizing them, I love watching that stuff, as well!
I may do a part 2 where I actually get deep into the singles declutter! Time will tell...
Loved hearing all your reasons for what you’re keeping and what you’re decluttering!
That means a lot to hear cause in my head I’m like “omg you are rambling too much!”
damn that was a ruthless declutter LOL! some of those u decluttered surprised me but ur standing on business!
I wanna know what shocked you the most!
@ the narimi palettes!
Yeah that was a game time decision! But no regrets, I think someone else will enjoy them very much!
I hear you: coming to terms with our own overconsumption isn't easy. But you did such a good job with this declutter and kept your overall goal in mind. Thanks for giving us a glimpse into your very colorful collection! Some of the decisions you made shocked me (in the best way).
I live to shock 🫢
Where did you get the clear palette that has your Clionadh shades? I really like it!
I got this from a brand called Kryptein Cosmetics! You can find them on IG and here: www.krypteincosmetics.com/
Just the kind of long video I need for Monday morning!
Glad you're here!
Also, great declutter, and loved hearing your thoughts.
Appreciate this SO much!

I promise it feels so much better and more freeing to let go of things that don’t serve you anymore!
I have to do a declutter soon but i also have such a hard time getting rid of things cause i feel like i will eventually use it
It is hard but also extremely freeing to get rid of things! I feel like it ends up opening my creativity more than when I have too much around ❤️
This has been such an informative and relaxing video
I'm so glad!

This was a lot of fun to watch. It's hard to part with eyeshadow for me but you did very well.❤
I appreciate that! And I think with a lot of things since I had fun with them it felt easier to say goodbye
I LOOOOOOVE A LONG VIDEO 😭💗
Eyeing my 25-or-so bin of decluttered palettes while I watch this. It’s one thing to say I’m done with this one vs actually exiting my home and making its way elsewhere lol
So true, I’m committed to getting things out and with new friends!
Oh, I have two of those glamlite palettes. One unopened. I bought most of them on sale then a killer deal on the whole collection so I own two of all except the purple one.
To this day I regret not picking up the glamlite cookies & cream palette when it was on deep discount!
Mine will be available soon and I would be happy to send your way!

Lol‼️‼️ what is going on ivy!?! Omg… THIS IS EXCITING. Notification is ON for this one, what u got up your sleeve girl!?! Perfect timing 😉
Hope you like it!
Also that necromancy cosmetics packaging looks amazing
It’s great, and I love that whole brand!
YASSS GARFIELD IS STAYING 😭😍😍🐈🍝🧡🧡
Couldn’t let the cat go
❤
Great job Ivy! I'm also doing a single shadow purge soon so this was just the motivation I needed to get rid of old stuff. It was also nice to watch while I washed my brushes 😅
Virtual high fives for cleaning your brushes!

You have/had an amazing collection. I am so bummed that i didn't get the moonlit marsh when it was available, it was still on their website up till around a month or two ago
It will be up for grabs if you wanna get it from me!
@@Betterthanbasicivy Oh that would be nice, I've been searching mecari and Poshmark, hoping that I could find it there
Love!!🎉🎉🎉🎉
I'm sure you're aware already, but did you know Glamlite is releasing another Ghostface palette?
I saw it! I have to say I think it looks really pretty... been trying to decide if I want to pick it up or hold off. Having gotten through this declutter I feel less inclined to bring in new shadow actually.
@Betterthanbasicivy Understood. I am salivating over that bigger Narimi palette, with all the greens & purples. So my vibe!
WHERE did you get the clear acrylic single shadows palettes that magnetize shut? Especially the larger one at the end?
Any of clear acrylic palettes are through Kryptein Cosmetics! www.krypteincosmetics.com/

@@kayla4702 I have also struggled with their mattes and I feel so left out cuz most people find them easy to blend 😭
I've never tried Blend Bunny! But I've had good luck with BBB, sorry it's not been as workable for you!
@@Mostlymatte at least you know you're not alone.
oh hell yea
what’s the stone in the ring on your right hand ring finger?? its sooooo pretty
That is a lavendar quartz!

Hmm I've never realized you don't lean toward pink and purple as much!
Yeah I struggle with those colors even though I like them!
Did you count how many were decluttered?
Not formally but I can tell you the number was high!
Well, I was planning to go out today…
No more - cozy inside time awaits!
