  • How Chicago Tribune photographer Jose M. Osorio got the shot: "Knowing the city was enshrouded in fog this morning, my colleague Peter Tsai suggested heading to either the Willis Tower or former Hancock Building to see about making feature photos of the fog and clouds floating past the skyline. Tsai thought a time lapse video using my iPhone would be fun. I decided to head to the 360 Observatory Deck at the former John Hancock Building and what I saw was wonderful. In position, I opened up the camera, scrolled to the time lapse function and placed it on a flat edge that was close to the window. I lined up the shot by picking a building to focus on and then underexposed it a bit. I set my watch for 15 minutes and pushed the record button. Once the 15 minutes finished, the phone compressed the time lapse into a 20 second clip. My first time using the time lapse function and it was a success!"
