I've always had the silly image of Wilson teaching Webber how to shave (and probably mucking it up), given they're some of the few who actually grow beards.
I like to think Wilson views himself as "The only normal person here" when in reality we all know that he's just as weird the rest of them. Great video!
Did you see that short where Wilson nearly cries when given some quality food after his adventure with Wanda? I think this man worships the ground Warly walks on simply due to the fact that Wilson is Mr Don’t Starve and likely loves food in general. Or at least he loves getting a quality meal after so much time alone and surviving off scraps.
Its very important that we all agree Wilson has dad energy. I checked his quotes and I love that there's at least one per kid were he takes on a more scolding tone, like wondering if Wendy has any sharp objects on her. Adding my own thing, I like to think he likes Abigail. Most of the survivors quotes are a bit impersonal, and maybe a bit rude at times, but Wilson just thinks her bow (probably the flower) is cute. Probably treats her like the other kids despite being a ghost on the basis that he doesn't believe in them. Abigail's just a fine young lady in a state of life not know yet by science.
I have a headcanon: Wilson was the one that taught Wormwood english, and all the crafting recipes in game, and took Wormwood down from Hamlet for the events of DST, thus, explaining why he is present. I like this because it explains Wormwood’s nickname for Wilson “Science Man”.
Regarding Willow in this, I really liked how they were portrayed in the "Inevitable Musical/Cinematic" (even though it might not be canon), the characterization of Wilson being the careful and methodic one, trying to make Willow not throw herself into danger, was really compelling. And that does sound like a mature big brother and younger sister situation to me, so you may be actually on point there.
I like to think that Wilson had a tough time getting used to Webber, as he seems to suffer from arachnophobia judging by some of his quotes (While most characters dislike/feel disgust towards spiders, Wilson is straight up afraid of them). But after some time he probably realized that Webber is just a kiddo :D
Klei really needs to go deeper on the characters relationships with each other. Youre meant to believe these guys are surviving together for god knows how long and we have almost no clue what they even think about each other besides the bare-bones mentioning each other on their quotes
methinks you should continue in chronical orderr! that or WX-78, totally not biased or anything.,, im just gonna go with the majority vote. also awesome video!!!
10:38 I do have a couple of suggestions, the first is to cover the oldest and newest survivor in repeating order. So the next episode would be Wanda, next would be willow etc. The next I think would be pretty funny is spin a wheel with all the characters to figure out who’s next! Maybe release a community post when you do spin that wheel or maybe release them as shorts? Idk but I’d think it would be pretty fun to have them determined by a wheel and see people be (Jokingly) sad that their fav wasn’t selected lol
I really like the direction this channel has been going. Fun lore/discussion videos on the story and characters. Its lovely. I hope you have as much fun making these as I do watching them. 👍
I hope you'll do this with every character. Also, in regards to Wilson, even though he hated Maxwell when he first ended up in the Constant, he ended up sympathizing with Maxwell and freeing him after reaching the Nightmare Throne. Then again, once he met Maxwell later on, it was apparently so personal that Wilson dropped the axe he had so he could kill Maxwell with his bare hands.
Good to know "Wickerbottom Time :D" has become a Constant (haha) on the channel. Also, a video for each character? We might have to start calling you "Warly" now! 😁
Probably observing the survivors. Probably not the hamlet pigs since he doesn’t use shakespearean english. Or its just moon weirdness, he already knows some puzzle solutions that no other character knows because of that
@anonymouscausethatshowirol828 yes, I think that wormwood has parts of the knowledge of the moon, and the moon learned from maxwell, Charlie and the other survivors, probably didn't knew much English but learned whit the other survivors like wurt and maybe wortox
3:23 this makes makes me raise the question now that WX-78 knows that Wagstaff is in the constant, are they gonna tell the other survivours that Wagstaff is an asshole or are they just gonna go "not me not my problem" and say nothing. I mean WX-78 isn't the most colaborative one, but are they gonna pass the oportunity to obstruct Wagstaff as much as posible?
My personal favorite characters in order: Wilson > Wormwood > Webber Wilson always has been my to go to pick just because he has a magnificent beard and has no drawbacks, its the base game experience imo
4:34 one of the quotes for something actually implies that Woodie, Wilson and Wickerbottom all helped to make his kitschy idols, I can’t remember which one it is so more likely Wilson sees him as a friend he can experiment on
I have a headcannon: There is one thing in the world that Wilson and Willow agree on and it is FIREWORKS since fireworks are scientific fire that looks cool.
i like to imaging that wilson and willow are like wendy's funny aunt and uncle because of wilsons dad jokes and willow having some similar past experiences with trauma and loss and stuff. id like to think wendy hates the puns but sometimes she makes them too so its very hard to tell
I mean make kinda sense for wortox he say all the time that he can't touch anyone due to is curse and I'm pretty sure he touch Wilson more than ones in the animation
Ok so remember when the Winona and Wurt skill trees came out? Well I was thinking, what if someone started as Wurt and did your usual Wurt stuff but then you decide to character swap to Winona because you remember the Dreaded Mudslinger existes and it ollnly costs 1 Pure Horror, 1 Driftwood and 1 Marsh Turf, and Winona can use her Rose-colored Glasses to obtain Pure Horror in the caves by inspecting a Cracked Pillar with them on, and you can make a spotlight wich is basically infinite light as long as you have a generator with it. So basically you go do all that stuff and then you get the Pure Horror and then swap back to Wurt and then BOOM. Easy Dreaded Mudslinger.
I feel like Maxwell and Wilson Have a friendly-ish rivalry Like after getting a lot of anger out by Beating the shit of him he was in a much cooler state and after bonding a bit over building the building of the I forget what it’s called so I’ll just call it the Proto postern His hatred was able to shift to a passion for fucking with him and same for Maxwell and it’s like their own form of Bonding also, do you think when he says decent day do you think that’s like his way of saying good day but not too good of a day like he’s throwing shade or something Or do you think it’s like saying good day but in the constant the best you can realistically hope for a decent day like the constant version of good day
I mean, he did design some contraptions you use in game though, like the boat pump and magnet. And that's only one of the few things credited to him, imagine how much isn't credited. I'd wager he probably invented the science machine.
I like to think Wilson and Willow wouldn’t get along. Like Wilson would be trying hard to survive, then come back to camp and find all his hard work is on fire.
Why do you forget Wispy? She’s not that new is she? (I’m new to DS/DST so I don’t really know for sure) You’re last couple character videos didn’t include her 🤨
You going through the arc of Wilson and Maxwell's relationship is just why I ship them in a nutshell. Yes, I know it's never gonna be canon (honestly, I would prefer if the only canon relationships are Woodie and Lucy, and past Maxwell and Charlie), but I am a sucker for these kinds of relationships. Like, what went down when Wilson originally built the portal with Maxwell's help? What did they talk about while building and during the downtime? How betrayed and angry did Wilson feel upon learning that Maxwell tricked him? What were Wilson's thoughts as he made his way through the challenges in order to confront Maxwell? How about Maxwell's thoughts? I believe that he had Wilson construct the portal so that he could make his way through the challenges and reach the throne, and that Maxwell's promise of forbidden knowledge was the knowledge Wilson would gain with the throne, and we know that Maxwell wanted to be free, but we also see his anger and frustration turned animalistic fury as Wilson conquered the challenges, so what's up with that? What thoughts went through their heads during the confrontation itself, when Wilson made the decision to free Maxwell? And then their reunion, reluctant teamwork, and choosing to work together once again on a new portal! All told with no dialogue, and yet the feelings there are so readily apparent, anger, betrayal, begrudging teamwork, choosing to trust once again! It's so good and interesting all on its own, but then if you add romantic feelings to it, it takes on a whole other aspect that can also be explored! And then you also add that Wilson and Maxwell are clear narrative foils, and I am eating so good! Sorry for rambling, I just wanted to express why I find the ship so interesting
I dont like as a ship but I can see the appeal. Maxwell is kinda easy to buidl relationship I think because is the character who got more things about him (Willow have more interactions with other survivors too). Also what it means narrative foils? (not a english speaker lol)
@@platinumg.8614 Narrative foils are basically when two characters contrast each other, which can be done by giving them clear similarities and/or stark differences. Have you ever seen the trope in media where the villain goes "We're not so different you and I" and the hero agrees, but responds with something like "But this is where we differ!" that's the most common type of narrative foil. In Maxwell and Wilson's case, they're both ambitious and prideful, but also suffered a lot of setbacks in their chosen field, which is what eventually led both of them to end up in the Constant. Their love of magic and science respectively is another contrast, as the two are direct opposites, yet serve the same purpose as an area of passion and expertise for them. They were both Shadow Kings, although Wilson needed to have been king for a little longer if we wanted to truly contrast that with Maxwell; how they differed and compared as Shadow King would be prime example of narrative foil. And finally, in the current story, they are both allying themself with an outside force that could potentially harm the group of survivors; Maxwell is helping Charlie out of guilt, likely knowing that there will come a point where he has to choose between Charlie and the survivors (and sidenote, Wilson was the one who noticed that Maxwell's flower changed from a poppy to a rose, so Wilson is likely to be the one to figure out what's going on there out of anyone of the survivors, and just imagine the drama there!), while Wilson is helping Wagstaff, whose intentions and motivations I don't think we know yet, but who is giving me serious bad vibes, and whose experiments with the constant has meant bad news for the survivors before (the Moon Quay). The difference being whether Wilson knows who Wagstaff is, what his plans are, what he wants to do, and what effects it will have on the survivors, we don't know. So as you can see here, Maxwell and Wilson are doing two very similar things, but the differences highlight their characters; Maxwell being regretful of his actions, but also duplicitous, and feeling torn between the shadows and the survivors, while Wilson is going headfirst into a situation he doesn't have the full picture of, which could lead to unintentional strife for himself and the other survivors.

Wilson definitely has a petty rivalry with Maxwell. They definitely bicker a lot but they can work together when they need to.
Your comment about Willow x Wilson is so real, they're the absolute siblings energy, mainly because of how they interact in the animated shorts
I'm so glad I'm not alone in thinking that! I just really don't think they have any romantic chemistry, but they have so much sibling energy!
@@Mathee yeah! Their age difference and difference maturity levels makes me a little weirded out about them being a ship tbh... But siblings!? Totally
