Maruti Swift, Baleno, Fronx To Get Hybrid Tech Instead of diving into EVs head first, Maruti Suzuki and Toyota are looking at hybrid powertrains as the more viable and cost-effective alternatives. In India, Maruti Suzuki and Toyota currently lead hybrid vehicles segment (self-charging hybrids with electric propulsion marketed as strong hybrids) with Grand Vitara, Hyryder, Innova Hycross, Invicto and a few Toyota imports. Maruti Suzuki is keen on expanding its hybrid powertrain-equipped portfolio with a 7-seater version of Grand Vitara. However, a recent report mentions that Maruti Suzuki is considering hybridization of its more mainstream products like Swift, Dzire, Fronx, Baleno and other upcoming Maruti Suzuki vehicles. No. Maruti is not just plonking its current Toyota-derived 1.5L 3-cylinder Intelligent Hybrid powertrain in these vehicles and calling it a day. Instead, the report mentions Maruti Suzuki is developing its own series hybrid powertrain, coupled with the new Z12 3-cylinder engine (Z12e with hybrid setup).

Many are saying 40KMPL is not possible. But in city traffic with regeneration without engine support the battery gets charged. The maximum traffic the maximum mileage. So if driven in Bangalore Mumbai traffic. It may go beyond. I own Grand Vitara and my friend from Bangalore owns the same his mileage is way ahead then mine as im frim madurai here traffic is very moderate.
External supportive solar panel can be used to charge the battery
Indian government is not supporting Hybrid as much they are supporting EVs. They should give tax cuts for Hybrids.

Hybrid is a revolutionary tech ahead in automotive industry. Due to Tata and other EV brands influence Govt. Govt is not giving any subsidy to hybrid vehicle which is way less pollutants. I highly appreciate Toyota and Suzuki for taking their innovation next level. Tata will also develop their own tech in future in another decade

Hybrid will always have batttery replacement cost. Unless replacement cost is brought down there is no major benefit on hybrid. Since the cost saved will anyway be vented out for battery replacement cost eventually. This can be corelated to e vehicles as well
Same for ev. The battery cost around 60 percentage of car price, in future it may be increased. No resale value, no reliability, no charging station. Some 5 star marketing brand Service centers are have 0 response 🤣
