Had a buddy buy a box from someone who found a collection in a storage auction. Bought it based on seeing one 1 plateau.... Didn't find any more duals, but it had a bunch of wild hits like a foil craterhoof behemoth, a pile of shock lands, a stack of revised+unlimited bolts, 2 playset of lotus petal, and like 900 more in hits.
When I was a kid I was too poor to buy more than bulk singles from a bin at the local LGS and the occasional pack or starter deck. When I happened upon like $90 I was so excited to go on Ebay and buy a whole booster box of whatever I could afford. This was the late 90s so you can imagine my options lol >.< What set sounded coolest to me, not really knowing what was in any of them? Fallen. Empires. That's what child me selected. So many Hymn to Tourachs, lol...
What a fun video. I love these old collection buy videos. Sad to see people leave the hobby but videos like this will bring in many new hobbyists. Great work.
As a newer Magic player it is awesome to watch you go through a collection this size. Very interesting and filled with minor tidbits about the history of Magic.
The fact you can sift through that fast is insane. I have to look them up one by one. Youre knowledge for card value is through the roof. Thanks for the content. And please do another series like this! I found this channel from this purchase and it was alot of fun
Knowledge like that comes with time, I myself work at a card store and can kinda just eye it when looking through collections like that! Pretty handy skill to aquire
Oh my goodness , a morphling ! Literally hitting all my loves … can literally hear it in your voice , how blown away you are. Congrats again , Matt , you deserve it !!!
I agree on the pauper comments. The sheer volume of killer pauper cards I've seen you pass on this was incredible. My pod plays a ton of pauper commander, and I am always scouring the bulk boxes at my LGS for goodies
Gratulations to all the fetch lands! Holy moly, these boxes were so full of surprises as a grande finale of the collection! It's clearly imaginable how the owner loved MtG, as he really neatly sorted all the boxes.
Wow I actually got a notification about a video as soon as it got uploaded. Great buy by the way. It's been a ton of fun watching you through the whole thing. This is also the first time I've been able to see that the video was posted early enough to possibly get in on the giveaway. Fingers crossed. A shock land is always nice.
@@MattcasterMageThanks. I've been following this and the market mover videos. I see the market video the day of or the next day but this random buy series always pops up on my feed a week late.
That's a crazy collection! I wish I could find the kind of stuff that you've found, any tips on picking out random collections that could have real value?
Awesome last video Matt - that one bundle box was insane with the value - had to be my favorite of the collection cause many of those were from around the same time my son and I started playing at our LGS - thanks for sharing!
Very nice, intensely random collection find! I wish I had sold my first collection to someone who would've opened it on video like this. Would've blown your mind lol. It hurts to think about; having sold it. I swore I was done with MTG. I think we all know how that turned out. I have no plans on ever selling my new collection, even if it'll never be anything like the first one. (It was worth well over $35k, not including any bulk, etc)
I started collecting in Stronghold and sold most of my collection 10+ years ago. I remember owning so many of these cards. Wow, this is a phenomenal blast from the past Thanks for the video.
just made a red and white equipment deck in need of a sacred foundry it is low in power a 7. my strongest deck is animar filled with eldrazis. probably a 9 it pops quick. love all your vids been subscribed for years. keep up the good work.
This collection is nuts. I’ve been seeing the bulk thinking how hard it is to get some of the lower end cards. That was just to many fetchlands. What was this guys pull luck?
Can you share (if you calculated) what the total value of this collection was including just cards $2 and up?? NM...it was at the very end. Almost $5 G's!! Nice.
I always watch you all the way from Lima, Peru. Love what you are doing! You got some great value on this buy. If you pick me for the subscriber giveaway, I promise to take a great picture when I get the card. Maybe I could visit an archeological dig and snap it there. ☺
Oh my goodness , not only the ice age and fallen empires , but it the killer bees !!! I collect those , that would be so awesome to have found. What a find and I would love to get those bees !!!!
Had a real funny thought during this video "Take a drink every time he says "This Collection" or "Collection"" Woulda died lol But great finds in these boxes.
Just getting back into collecting and playing havent been involved in either since alpha and beta WAY back in the day but really enjoying getting back on the wagon!
Winners from this videos giveaways!

20:23 $4 seething song
I have a copy of that unglued island -- fun fact: it's currently worth just over $10 USD
(think that Zirilan of the Claw is right around $10 as well)
Would love to see a follow up with the collection seller! Stories, reactions, etc.
The randomness of some of these boxes is so fun to watch!

The fact the you didn't calculate Skulkclamp, and even had it twice, is criminal
7$ to 11$ card, beeing ban in few format, i agree

Just bought one for a token commander deck... pricier than I thought
Some really decent pulls

I would take that Unlimited Plains, love the old school no tap symbol, glad to see it was sleeved at least!
Yeah, Unlimited Basics and Ice Age snowlands are some of my favorites and these days are worth much more than bulk!
What a great buy! What do you do with all the "chaff" from these buys?

Love how you noticed the revised unsummon the artwork on it is just superb I had the same reaction

Hallowed Fountain! What a collection. Out of curiosity, why didn't you price out the Skull Clamps?
Thanks for going through this collection. It's been a blast to watch!
9:02 Temur Ascendancy should be over 2$ European market is at 4€
We always love seeing the older stuff in a random buy, what a dude to send the seller some extra chedder for helping make us cream our jeans.

Gonna be hard to top this collection. Gotta do a wrap up video to go through all the biggest hits.
All those lands!! So beautiful! I love that foil island
Can you share (if you calculated) what the total value of this collection was including just cards $2 and up?? NM...it was at the very end. Almost $5 G's!! Nice.
Awesome collection and buy on your part. That was an insane amount of fetch lands. Keep up the great work.
Been buying collections like this too. Really love doing it and its been a good side gig.
I’ve gotta say, this was one of the best collections I’ve seen in forever. It’s been fun watching this series.
This collection is unreal and I've loved watching you go through it all

Wow this collection was an absolute journey! Thanks for sharing!!!
This series of videos has been awesome. Hope to find something like this myself one day.
Heck yeah.. I have had luck before with collection buys. But this one has been a pretty close match for content of the collection!
Incredible collection, super fun to watch this saga unfold
im a fairly new player at magic and was wondering where the best place to purchase a collection online would be?
That 2015 box is a bit nostalgic for me. I technically officially started with forgotten realms. But I played a little bit during 2015.
That part with all the value cards back to back was awesome!
Oh my goodness , not only the ice age and fallen empires , but it the killer bees !!! I collect those , that would be so awesome to have found. What a find and I would love to get those bees !!!!
Wow! What an amazing collection to go through, It must have felt great to find all those fetch lands. Really enjoyed the video series!
If you make good pauper decks with the old school lands in them you could probably ebay each one for 100$ free shipping and make good money
Some times it's worth looking at black border mountains for Arabian Nights Mountains, big money.
This collection is absolutely bonkers to watch and discover with you. Thanks for sharing
Love these videos! Hope to see more random buys in the future.
Whered you find this collection!!! Amazing
Man I’d love to get my hands on that collection. I’d want everything from Innistrad onwards. You can keep everything before that. lol.
Do you use software to scan each card?
Insane collection, been watching for a couple of weeks. Thanks!
Amazing collection I have seen most of the collection that you have posted.
wow what a collection..so much depth and variety! thanks for sharing
So many old goodies. Just a good old fashioned Magic collection. Gotta love it
Congratulations on the great random buy
Had a real funny thought during this video "Take a drink every time he says "This Collection" or "Collection"" Woulda died lol But great finds in these boxes.
This random buy has been so much fun to watch! Thanks!
This has been a great collection to watch you sort through. really a dream find!
Does the seller watch this?? If so, is there any seller's remorse?? Great buy!!
I wish they would reprint the old basic lands in foil as is. Even a full art would be beautiful
How many videos is this mini series. I tend to watch your market watch videos
Pauper is indeed amazing! Common Ground MtG is a great pauper podcast to check out if you’re a fan of the format 🔥
Fantastic collection and fun to review!
Im kinda jealous on the stash of fetches there. I never found treasures like this at my collection buys
Looks like a good old time!! Good luck on the contest all!❤❤❤
What a great buy. Great value and content for the past month or two. Thanks
I love seeing all the different cards from over the years. It's like looking through someone else's time capsule
What a ride this has been. Can’t trust the sleeves in this deck. Dude sleeved the most random stuff and then had it right next to heat.
Also, feel free to filter any lotus petals my way. I always need more!
The rush of going through collections! Love This!
Nice man 👍 stoked you grabbed this bad boy 😎
Gemstone mine is reserve list?
What a journey! Awesome Collection. This was a dream come true!
Just getting back into collecting and playing havent been involved in either since alpha and beta WAY back in the day but really enjoying getting back on the wagon!

I do need 1 more sacred foundry for a playset :D, great videos love the collections :)
Wow you have a great patron giveaway this time!!
I started doing goodwill buys because of your videos. Thanks keep up the great work Matt. The magic community loves you. ❤❤❤
Holy moly that’s crazy - amazing for any modern builder for sure!
Awesome card selection! Great find. 😮
Nice video and beautifull cards! I started collecting and playing a year ago.
Well, that was fun to watch and I got to see a couple of cards from my teenhood like that Timmy
I need the foundry! :D
Awesome buy! Huge video series that was very enjoyable!
That was an epic buy! My goodness!
That was an awesome collection you went through.
What a way to end it! Nice collection pick up 🙂
That journey was exceptional, I hope you get some of that luck again and again :D
Ive always wanted to buy an old collection and see what the previous owner had 😅
This collection keeps giving good value!
"200 mile drive to Edmonton" - lol, you live even further from Deadmonton than I do!
Awesome video man, congrats on the great find!
Do you do RUclips full time?
This is all some good stuff very similar to some smaller hits in my collection
