    Daylight, basically the same with few differences in between.
    Ultrawide, day same. Zoom still goes to Vivo for detail but S22U has better ranges. Front camera day, still Samsung. Pro mode is good for adjusting Samsung's profile a bit.
    Night I do prefer Samsung's for their "realism" where night is basically dark since as good as Vivo for brightening up the shot, it makes night mode redundant. It does flip between colours so each may be preferred differently. Video bright on Samsung but fuzzy and dark on Vivo but cleaner. Overall both are equally capable. It doesn't matter which to get. Makes me more excited for the S23 Ultra now.

      lol samsung has better zoom range? try taking a pic at 5x or 9x, it will look unusable, not to mention in dim light it doesn't even use those sensors because that's how tiny they are.
      on night again vivo destroys it, you can darken a pic anytime if you want it darker but good luck brightening up the samsung pic when it lacks tons of details.

    thanks for the review, and also for taking into account the comments on the previous review!
    By comparison, it is clear that Samsung is not a competitor to Vivo. The difference is too big. Samsung is still using their old algorithms from 2014 or even earlier. This results in unnatural faded colors, poor midtones, oversharpening and watercolors. Noise reduction also works very hard and eats up details. However, this approach is sometimes justified and allows, in some cases, when vivo makes a mistake with the focus, to get more interesting photos. According to the video, especially in low light, there’s nothing to even say - the Samsung can’t oppose anything.
    Vivo is another level. However, its cameras also have drawbacks (the focus sometimes does not work correctly and the DR in the video is strangely set towards overexposure of bright objects, especially on night videos).
    To minimize the problem with autofocus as much as possible, I resort to a trick. In the shutter settings, check the "touch" box and when taking a picture, do it not only with the shutter button, but directly tap on the place of the frame that you need in focus. In this case, the phone reexposes and refocuses the picture, and since this takes several tens of milliseconds, during this time the micro-shaking of the phone caused by tapping on the screen will already disappear and you will get a guaranteed clear picture of what you wanted.

    • @b2rdevastator
      @b2rdevastator Год назад +3

      Also, the video is too much oversharpened on vivo. It is necessary to reduce the level of sharpness on vivo in the following firmware.
      Another HORRIBLE problem for video shooting is the zoom slider. This is simply unacceptable. I know a lot of people who love to shoot videos and they will never buy a phone with such a zoom! It's terribly inconvenient. you want to FAST increase to the next physical sensor, say from 0.6 to 1 and you end up aiming at that slider, move it carefully so you don't overzoom and you overszoom anyway. In this case, you lose concentration on the subject! And if you went too far, then you need to zoom back and here you can also make a mistake. Firstly, it's damn inconvenient, secondly, you get a result that is terrible and you will need to cut these moments from the video ...
      Can the problem be fixed? EASY! it can be done in one update. The algorithm of the slider needs to be improved (it is desirable to do this in the same way as an iPhone zooms - this is an ideal zoom), but the MAIN thing is that in addition to the slider, you need to leave buttons for instant switching between modules. if I need to slightly increase the frame within one module, I will do it with a slider, but I would like to do the switching between modules instantly with a button. There is another reason for this. Let's say you shoot on the x2 module. want to switch to x3.5. Now for this you need to move the slider. So, up to x3.4, the x2 module will work for you and the picture will be just a crop from this sensor, and by this moment it will be just terrible quality. And then a sharp jump in quality when you switch to x3.5. Yes, x90pro plus modules are of very good quality and the jumps are almost invisible, but nevertheless they are. If you switch between modules with buttons, then this problem will simply not happen when shooting in 99% of cases (well, unless you yourself specifically do it with a slider ...)
      I really don’t understand - is it really that no one shoots a video in vivo? how do they test and develop their cameras? the feeling that they are doing it exclusively for photos on the social network. And it's sad, because hardware this phone is PERFECT. however, the software does not always correspond to it ...
      I beg you to make a video and preferably with a clickbait title and show on it how terribly inconvenient it is to use zoom in a Vivo camera and show how convenient it is to use zoom on an iPhone or Samsung.
      The quality of the shooting is important, but it is equally important to have the convenience of doing so.
      Interestingly, Vivo has one of the best and most understandable interfaces for the camera, but I don’t understand how they could screw up the zoom slider like that ...

    Another great video comparison, thank you for you hard work!!! Interesting to see how Vivo's strategy of more megapixels vs optical zoom on the S22 stacks up. The 10x zoom used to be the main advantage of the S22 which no other phone could touch. Vivo managed to get close to the point of the difference being negligible - check 4:30. The Samsung cameras might seem sharper generally, but this is just down to processing - in my eyes they are oversharpened. I much prefer the Vivo balance and to do my own sharpening if needed. So excited for this phone's global release!!!!

      I imported it from china! It supports all 4G/5G bands so there is no issue. Origin OS is definitely better than Funtouch OS, but I underestimate how much work it was to get rid of most of the chinese bloatware and get all the settings right. If you want to get rid of everything chinese it's even more work. But it also depends if you have already done the set up process of such a phone and know what to do or if you do it the first time like me! But if everything is done it's definitely worth it. The phone is amazing and at the same time quite cheap compared to most of the flagship phones from other brands

      Android 13, One UI 5 December update which was the latest as of the video. Minimum focusing distance isn't the best like most larger camera sensors.

      s23 ultra will have a 1/1.30 main sensor and will keep all other sensors the same, so more like, try the s25 ultra against it if you want a "fair" comparison when maybe samsung decides to use an 1 inch sensor instead of bumping fake MP to impress the average joe

    • @IncelBoy
      @IncelBoy Год назад

      @@adyady3099 wtf? sensor size is not the only thing that matters, the sensor used in the S23U is much better than the sensor used in the S22U, mainly because it contains white pixels.

    • @adyady3099
      @adyady3099 Год назад

      @@IncelBoy much better, 1/1.33 vs 1/1.30 =)) don't fall like an idiot for fake MP marketing, sensor size does matter a lot, that's why samsung can't even use secondary cameras in low light for zoom so yeah, main camera will be good of s23 ultra won't be able to match vivo or next xiaomi.
      If huawei would have come with an 1 inch ryyb sensor it would have been game over for all phones in camera department.
