    For anyone confused to what he said: in 1958 they had not found the titanic wreck so they didn't know that it had actually split in half. When survivors said she split the people didn't belive them for some reason.
    Edit: thanks for the information in the replies.

      The reason why they didn't believe the survivors is because some people reported that they didn't see the ship split in half, including Second Officer Charles Lightoller, who was the highest ranking crew member to survive the disaster. Because it was so dark, he couldn't see the ship splitting in half. He only saw a huge black mass. Alot of other survivors didn't see the super liner ripping herself apart either. So really, Charles Lightoller is the reason why people didn't believe Titanic split in half. His testimony was seen as reliable.

      Also there was no moon that night and the ships lights had just gone out so it was very difficult for anyone in lifeboats to actually see the ship split.

  • @MerchantIvoryfilms
    @MerchantIvoryfilms 4 мСсяца Π½Π°Π·Π°Π΄ +1

    Wrong: I own the 1912 book published of all eyewitness accounts. They actually have PHOTOS illustrating the ship cracking in half from hundreds of eye witnesses. This was the SAME YEAR it sank, so there is no excuse so now showing it. They knew that very year! And i own the book, so this isn't disputable
