  • In this video I show you how I go about fitting a Quad Lock Waterproof 12V To USB Smart Adaptor to my Honda CB125F Motorcycle. I show you how I went about removing panels, locating and wiring up the battery, routing the cables and testing the unit. I use the weatherproof wireless charging head, waterproof 12v to usb smart adaptor, bar clamp medium, dual pivot small, vibration dampener, and an Iphone 12 Pro Max Mag Case.
    This series will follow my progress from my CBT all the way to getting my full bike licence. Gaps along the way will be filled with product reviews for items I will use along the way to see what works and what doesn't, and what you really do need, and honestly don't need! You can also expect some beautiful rides out around the beautiful Isle of Wight where I call home, and shopping for my first 125cc motorcyle...
    It would be great to have you along for the ride so smash that subscribe button, and I will see you next time for more :)

    Its up to you Tommy but I just use a charged up power bank if I need it :)

      That is always an option. I'm not that organised, it would be run down when I need to use it 🤣

    interesting vid. FYI: what i did is tap into the rear number plate wire, and use it as the switch to a relay to ensure i only have power when the ignition is on. i ran a wire from both battery terminals into the relay, and then put the relay 'live' into a small 4-way auxiliary fure box that cost a few quid on amazon. it all fits snugly into the small space at the back of the seat where the light is. this allows you to connect upto 4 devices easily just using standard electrical connectors without worrying about any load, all you need to do is route the cables. I bought a cheap dual usb charger with battery voltmeter and made a small bracket to attach it firmly to the rear rack, so when my phone starts running down on the move, it goes into my rear bag, quickly plugs in and all's good. I never bothered fitting heated grips or a 12v charger, so i could have just used the relay without the fuse box, but the job all up can't have cost me more than £30 plus a cpl hours of my time. GL

      I wish I had your electrical prowess 🤣 A lot of stuff I don't understand right there but I'm glad it is doing the job for you. 💪

    Nice one always nice when you do the job yourself and it works, and you are learning about the bike at same time

    Nice one Tommy. Think I'd be tempted to chop out a section of that long red/black supply lead to tidy things up a bit instead of wrapping it all up. Phone looks really good in that position and totally practical.

      Hey Rob, I did consider that but a couple of things stopped me from doing so. 1) Hopefully it won't be on the bike for that long, I'll likely have a new bike this year and I may need a longer run on my next bike. 2) I wouldn't have a clue how to do that 🤣

      Yeah they both mention the other video so they went up at the same time. Truth be told, as per usual I was running out of time as I had to go pick my lad up from school 🤣 Also, easier to remove when I upgrade 😀

      Ah, your phone might be though anyway. If not you can buy a Quad Lock 'ponch' that fits over the case. There's a link in the description 👍

      @@TwoWheelsTommy The iPhone XR has a rating of “IP67” which means it is not fully protected from dust and can handle being under freshwater for up to 30 minutes at a depth of 1 metre and no more. If your phone gets dropped in a puddle, a shallow pool, or wet from the rain, it will be just fine….had this phone for 6 years and I never knew 😆thanks Tommy

    With it on auto have you ever drain the battery the way it connected because I’ve been told with 125’s having little battery’s that it mite I’m just waiting for my stuff coming so I’ll have the joys of fitting next week

    • @TwoWheelsTommy
      @TwoWheelsTommy  23 дня назад +1

      Not at all, it doesnt matter how big the battery is it will cut off under the voltage threshold. No dramas with it at all 👌
