@@SillyVoices4ubut after the events of the season finale it was showed how sinners can be redeemed, so she want ignorant, ignorant is not even thinking they don’t deserve a second chance
@HuskerWusker it's not ignorant to believe not everyone deserves a second chance, like if hitler epstein or gangas khan were given a second chance, just cause they did good does mean the bad they did just dissappear life was the test and afterlife was the grade, no one in the hotel has redeeming qualities except angel and even then his sin outweighs the good he's done, and yes they are ignorant emily knows nothing of sin and life and she used a small checklist to prove her point which shows she knows nothing of life and how it effects your afterlife of consequence
@@SillyVoices4u ok to be fair the hitler thing is a lot more complex than the other examples you gave. the assassination of franz ferdinand of germany is what started WWI and the germans were completely fucked over with the treaty of Versailles. the nazi party did take advantage of angry people HOWEVER when most people bring up hitler its in response to the holocaust and that is also not as simple as the nazis killed the jews. the jews literally chose it. first the german government told them they were not wanted and they should leave and the jews refused to go. then the german government forced the jews to live under terrible conditions with the hope that doing so would make them leave and when that failed the final solution happened which was the holocaust. those who did not agree with that solution risked and often gave their own lives in order to protect the jews. those who the nazi party thought might be a threat (such as the rich and influential which included my great grandma and her family) were brought to the camps too. honestly the third reich is probably the best thing to compare the heaven/hell situation in hazbin to. it was a very complex event that a lot of people downplay the complexity of because of morality and my rough and simplified explanation of what happened doesnt do it justice. there are many MANY important lessons to be learned from history and WWI and WWII are the best outlet for those lessons as they were very well documented and MANY easily avoidable tragedies happened along with lessons on what not to do in war (truth is if the japenese didnt bomb pearl harbor the axis forces would have won. america joining the war was the turning point as we supplied a massive amount of weapons, war machines, and ammunition)
"was i too naive to expect you to heed the morals you're purveying?" is COLD asf when you realize it's just a polite way of saying "my fault, i didn't realize you're such a piece of shit"
This one actually was. While they didn't achieve their goal, they did come away with certain advantages. They've introduced themselves to St. Peter, wich is useful. They've made a formal ally in Emily, and she's high ranked. They also shamed Heaven, Sera and the Exorcist by showing that they aren't virtuous.
That line "Do what was required" was an awesome moment of animation. Her expression is sympathetic but the flames of hell are reflected in her eyes. You remember what the road to hell is paved with, Sera?
And for the rest of Emily accusing her, Emily is ba little by the flame but Sara's whole body is bathed in the red glow of hellfire. The animation on this show is absolutely top notch.

Villains get the best songs because they can have the best songs. Their song are usually about what how unapologetically awesome they are, or are going to be unapologetically awesome. Hero's really can't get such self indulgence. Hero songs, even the most selfish of them, tend to be fairly altruistic. Villians have this unabashed confidence hero's can never have. Because to villians, they matter. To hero's, other people matter.
Something that this song makes me realise, is that Emily and Charlie are two sides of the same coin. They're borderline the same person, but just Heaven/Hell reflections of eachother.
1:48 I am absolutely in love with Emily's stand against Sera, solidifying her as the only true Angel in the room. She condemned the Exterminations and stood for what Heaven was SUPPOSED to
Oh, absolutely, but her whole time was incredible. Tone strong, back straight, with all the righteous fury she could muster in every word, gesture, and expression.@@kamado_138
Looks like they started arguing near end of the song after exterminations got revealed. Seems like plenty of angels in the room really didn't like the idea of killing sinners.
Even better... when she makes her stand, she flies above Sera and holy light fills her eyes up, showing her to be, of the two of them, the one that actually IS righteous and is above her sister and her moral failings.
@@JayCayMan Adam is allowed to stay because he's the first man. That's why most of the angels tolerate his behavior, even if they despise him. If Emily showed any bit of disagreement or rebellion like Lucifer, she would get kicked out.
Ikr! as a Christian Though yes I may not agree with some plots of this show because it isn't Biblical(which is the point since this show merges different beliefs) But despite this I still love this show. (the key is differentiating things) And It is absolutely an amazing detail how they said that! Because it is true. Hell is NOT forever (In a Biblical aspect) I mean it literally gets thrown at the lake of fire to be destroyed so... Either way This show is great. I love the extremist side of how legalism can remove what grace truly is (heaven in the show) And how people can counter that with what grace can be or what grace actually is.
@@hiima2860 i agree, i strongly belive in apocatastasis, hell is destined to be empty and all the sinners find redemption sooner or later, even Lucifer himself
@@hiima2860 If you go by purely Abrahamic mythology the Bible itself is un-Biblical. The concept of Hell is a relatively recent phenomenon, before that it was Purgatory where souls got to, and when they were deemed to have suffered enough to make up for their sins then they would go straight to Heaven. The Bible you know is the heavily edited King James Bible, it was meant to reinforce the concept of the Divine Right of Kings and many things are edited to make it readable and transportable since a "complete" version of the Abrahamic scripture would probably be six volumes at least and full of even more contradictions than it already is. For example, Satan is a title that Lucifer once held. Satan means "opponent" and it was the only angel who was allowed to question God as God would smite any other angel who did. The Angel of Judgment questioned the creation of humans and was instantly struck down by God for insolence. Pretty difficult to align "Satan is a title" with the claim that "Satan is real" without contradicting yourself.
What's worse is they don't even know how a person gets into heaven and disregard those who didn't the first try. Adam was the first man created and the first soul in heaven after death, but did they even see that coming?
My favorite part of this is when Sera comes down and the flames in the orb reflect in her eyes…shows that even in seemingly “pure” souls there’s evil. It’s such a sick image.
Something I just noticed. At 1:52, when Emily smacks away Sera’s hands and makes it clear that she won’t let her treat her like she’s been treating her (like a kid), she starts showing more angelic traits. The symbol on her chest turns into an eye and an eye appears at the center of her crown as well. I also believe her eyes start to glow (the ones on her face). These are all signs of how serious she is and she’s also presenting a physical reminder to Sera of who she is, not some kid to be protected and kept in the dark but an angel with power, responsibilities, and a will of her own. Such great attention to detail!
I've also seen the idea of the eyes on Emily's chest and crown representing both her heart and mind can now see the truth and she rejects the awful things being done.
Seems they always thought angels with a will of their own is what started hell and cost Lucifer everything in the first place. Even if that was the case long ago ,Charlie, his own daughter, is giving everyone a golden chance to correct those mistakes while keeping free will and heaven still won’t listen.
0:56 ''what are we even talking about'' GOD LUTE'S VOICE IS THE BEST, i love this part of the song sang by her so much and 2:11 TOP NOTCH love the duet
Through their every part you can tell Adam and Lute know they're not worthy of being up there. Now it's their mission to make sure no one is just to keep everyone from seeing it
That's the point isn't. They showed they wanted more than the status quo (innovation for Lucifer and compassion for the sinners in Vaggie's case) and that's what got them down in hell. Not sin
Yeah, it seems the only "sin" that can condemn an angel to hell is rebellion. As long as you mantain the status quo it doesn't matter how much you curse, abuse or kill other beings. Vaggie showed compassion, arguably the most angelic trait, and she paid for it. Meanwhile Sera can condemn millions of people to damnation without any repercusion. Angels can indeed do whatever they want, Adam says it all the time.

Emily isn't so ignorant. She is just open to Charlie's idea of redemption rather than outright rejectx it. She judges Angel Dust solely based on his behaviors rather than bias, although the criteria is just something random made by Adam. The moment she realizes Sera's plan and Adam's atrocity, she shows complete disgust, but she still asks Sera to explain, who keeps telling "I am older so I will shoulder" to dismiss her opinions. This actually leads to existential crisis, as angels who are supposed to be benevolent are lying and causing massacres while refusing to listen to others' pleads. Emily is similar to Charlie, who are genuinely good at heart, but still stand their grounds.
@@rocbenaa1963and she knows they are sinners, they are not innocent, but she also believes that they can be saved, redeemed (like sir snake in the end) But she is naive you are right, because she trusted sera
Hazbin has a TON of moments that perfectly encapsulate the phrase “Show- don’t tell.” The moment with the flames being reflected in a smiling Sera’s eyes is one of them.
Adam had a point when he said it shouldn’t be a big deal to Charlie that Vaggie is an angel and was a former exterminator, even though he didn’t mean what he said and assumed Charlie would never forgive her after finding out. Charlie wasn’t upset about Vaggie’s past or species, she was upset that Vaggie had *LIED* to her for years. If anything, Charlie would’ve been THRILLED to meet an angel who showed mercy to a sinner, because it would show that some beings up in heaven didn’t agree with the exterminations and that even exterminators were capable of kindness.
Yes! Finally! THANK YOU!! YOU paid attention. Charlie could not give less of a damn about her past no matter what it was. Hell, she was probably under the assumption she was a sinner the WHOLE TIME and yet she still fell in love with her .The past wasn't the problem, the LIE was
Did you have a hammer nearby when you typed that comment? Because you hit the nail on the head! It's even shown properly in Episode 7. Heck if Lucifer knew before the big reveal he probably would've wanted her to tell Charlie, and then try to keep an eye on them both because he and Vaggie knew what it was like to be betrayed by Heaven.
One thing I really like about this show is that, at least for the most part, Charlie doesn't pervay her inner demon form unless she feels genuinely threatened on a physical level. Or even at points that it slips out when shes extremely angry, she regains her composure super quickly. To me its a nice subtle detail that supports the portrayal of despite being born in Hell, she is a genuinely good soul.
The fire reflecting on Sera's eyes only.. You can see how BAD she is, like fr, it doesn't even reflect on Charlie's eyes and she's literally the daughter of Lucifer
It’s hard to say what’s right or wrong, people have a number of biases that justify this or that. Sera believes that it is the best solution to maintain a lasting peace, at worst it is evil done with good intention. And this is not necessarily wrong, some people in hell are really ambitious and could do a lot of damage if they had enough strength to face heaven (I’m not saying it’s right, it’s horrific to justify an extermination, I’m just doing the devil’s advocate, not sure that this expression exists in English). If we consider that Sera deserves to fall, then all the generals, intelligence chiefs and military officers deserve to fall in hell with her and the majority of people do not consider them monsters. If we consider that it is ok to make preventive strikes, by extension, is Sera really wrong? (PS: for me, even with this reasoning, yes, she is wrong, but the no is acceptable and justifiable)
The fire part seemed less like Sera was evil and more that she’s trying to justify to herself responsibilities she feels forced to uphold. Sera’s whole character was protecting heaven from hell’s uprising. She’s working only with the fears and uncertainty that Adam sold to her. Deep down, Sera knows what she’s doing is awful and wrong, and she even clearly holds back comments of disgust from Adam, such as “I never would have agreed to your… yearly activities if I thought it would bring trouble to our doorstep” The scene was more illustrating the struggle Sera has with knowing she’s responsible for countless deaths and attempting to alienate them as ‘it keeps heaven safe from a rebellion by hell’
@@clementinbonnet9773for the record you got the phrasing mostly correct, it's playing devils advocate in English so it exists and you did good. On the subject of Sera though I agree, I think she's trying her best, she's just afraid of war between sinners and angels and was convinced that this was the best option.
@@MageBurger I don't care if she was disgusted by the exterminations. She still greenlit them, hid them from the rest of heaven, and justified her actions when the truth came out. The fact that she knew better only makes it worse. She's every bit as guilty as Adam.
1:45 I have to put on my art/english teacher hat on for this, but I love the simple symbolism of a friendly, welcoming face with fire in the eyes. Everything about the design is inviting and warm - the eyes are even slightly bigger to come off as softer - but since our pov is of the younger sibling looking and seeing the sister she loves as a monster, we have the fire to create the uncanny ambiguity of implied danger mixed with a genuine insistence of necessary evils. It's very obvious symbolism, I know, but it hust happens to be one of my favorite cliches for an antagonist to be genuinely, to an almost wholesome degree, trying to convince an innocent that they aren't awful. The juxtaposition of love and horror is always fun to see done well
@toragic3432 Yup, that's why I:described it as obvious, evaluated the art rather than the narrative, and led with a common joke that implies that I am going to overanalyze something that does not require it.
@@toragic3432 No, but it's fun to geek out over. It's also fabulous shorthand, especially with how little time they had to establish so much about Heaven and the System. Also, it was so gorgeously done.
@@devastator2935 im sorry, when did she do that? afaik the end of ep 8 is Sir Pentius appearing before Emily and Sera. We didnt see her reaction more than the shocked face.
@@chrisyotas5854well to be completely honest, Sera literally says at one point she "never would've agreed" & that "it was such a hard decision" so she's always questioned Heaven but just never TRULY stood by "the morals she's purveying" in fear of ending up like Lucifer, so she's in a bit of a neutral area on the morality scale for me, out of the ENTIRE show Charlie & Emily are the ONLY two who are %100 pure
Angel was giving only half-assed participation in all of Charlie’s redemption exercises, while Sir Pentious was giving it his all. In the show she even called Sir Pentious their first guest despite Angel being there much longer. When you stop and think about it, from what was shown, Charlie didn’t really see him change at all up to this point. Sure he saved Sir Pentious from battle, and she almost certainly heard him begging Valentino not to hurt her, but he was still the same innuendo-filled spider demon he always was, never mind his contractually (en)forced job. She wasn’t there for “Loser Baby,” or the fight afterwards. The most meaningful thing she saw him do was forgive her for interfering with his job (and nearly lighting him on fire). Despite all of this, when she was finally able to present the hotel to Heaven, who did Charlie chose as THE example that the hotel was doing good? Who was Charlie so proud of that she just HAD to show them to the most important people she’s ever interacted with (except her dad), for quite possibly the single most important meeting of her entire life? When they decided to observe them, did Charlie change her mind and suggest anyone else? NO! Because she knew if there’s anyone they HAVE to see, it HAS to be HIM! Angel And he (probably) doesn’t even know it.
I don’t even know if he wants to go to heaven. Because then wouldn’t be able to engage in the same self-destructive behaviors he always has been. He put himself there. And he’s choosing to stay there at the end of the day.
@@spoojimothAnswering so many of these questions outside of the show though kind of takes away from the narrative a little bit, especially if it’s something this important.
I don't think that is what it was supposed to be, we see multiple times in this show that demons have a transformation the more power they draw on. remember Hell is NOT the good guys, every person and soul in that place are horrible evil self serving souls. even the ones watchers like to think are good, they aren't. Just look at the army that Charlie brings in, CANIBALS. listen to their song. Sera is right to want to protect order, and because there has already been two uprising in hells history in this world, first was Lucifer's rebellion and fall. The in his song he talks about trying it all before, he challenged order again. Hells souls already outnumber Heavens and grow every passing second. Emily agreeing with Charlie is mirroring Lucifer's fall you even see Sera fearful of that. she is questioning good and order and will get the consequences of that when she is turned into a demon and falls.
The third AND the fourth, since there is one in her chest and another in her "crown"(sorry i know that's not the name, but i really forgot how its called)
1:31 shows how Emily looks at the sinners and has sympathy in her eyes, but when she looks to Adam and Sera she has no sympathy or respect left to them.
“The rules are shades of gray when you don’t do as you say!” I just LOVE this line, it’s so powerful and it can be applied to SO many different situations too!
It parallels “Hell is forever” song where Adam sings “Rules are black and white” implying that rules are very straightforward and obvious. And then we get this songs that shatters his arguments, showing us that rules are in reality “shades of gray”
@@pen_lord8520It’s less about the rules being grade, and more about them being inconsistently enforced. The rules not applying to Adam and the other murderous exorcist squad.
The moral courage Emily shows in this song is just incredible. She's clearly the subordinate seraphim, but as Sera is trying to dismiss Charlie, it's Emily who breaks in with "but she was right, Sera", clear and true. Then when she hears about the exterminations, she immediately expresses her shock and outrage, and when Sera tries to justify it, Emily's response is "to think that I admired you," followed by a frankly-vicious takedown of Sera's hypocrisy. The whole thing is glorious in the moment, but more than that, it's the sort of steadfast conviction that almost no one in real life can manage, but which we should all aspire to. No wonder Emily's an angel.
A wonderful detail? When Adam is about to spill the beans and Sera goes to warn him to stop, _Em reacts to it with shock._ Em realized at that point that _whatever Adam was about to say, her sister was _*_part_*_ of it._ She already knew that Sera was involved in whatever horrible thing was about to be said, and she just wanted to be wrong which is why she asks 'Tell me, please, Sera, that you didn't know!' She knows the answer already but it has rocked her to her core to know what her sister has done. She doesn't want to be right, but knows she is. This leads to her tiny 'no' when Sera _confirms she was not only aware of this but actively allowing it._ and her view of her sister is shattered forever.
Yeah, at first I had a problem with how quickly she figured it out from so little, but on rewatch seeing that and the angel depicted in the flames, I realized that she really did have the pieces to put together.
I never thought about it until recently but this entire song is a brilliant excercise in exposition. We start out by learning that the angels don’t know what gets people into heaven in the first place. Then the angels figure out about the extermination. We have one piece of info that heaven was keeping secret and one piece of info that hell was keeping secret. And we finish with something the audience didn’t know and that’s the fact that Vagie was an angel. I used to think the song got its name from Emily saying you didn’t know but in reality it’s the song gets its name from multiple characters learning this information in the song. It’s a brilliant way to do exposition.
A good song in a musical can provide more characterization and give more information about the mindset and motivation of characters in a few short minutes than half an hour of normal exposition can. It is a rather neat trick that alot of musicals/plays do. Especially with the show being animated so the imagery of the song in question can be very detailed to provide even more characterization than normal. Basically compressing an entire episode's worth of drama and conflict into a single potent song. It's kinda awesome.
Right? How can so much plot be elegantly expressed in a banger song, and it doesn't feel odd or rushed. Like, I'll play the song and tell the others there's a lot of meaning behind it
An interesting note is that, for the entire song, for every one of Sera's lines, she's literally looking down at everyone. The visual storytelling was great. It doesn't matter how much she preaches about angels being morally superior to demons, and them being equal in heaven, she considers the others beneath her, even subconsciously.
Every time Charlie gets angry like that I get really excited cause it's so rare. She's usually sweet and puts up with a lot of shit so to see her lose her temper is a treat
@@VandriarI love the very restrained anger you can hear in her voice in that line. She's still trying to be diplomatic and reasonable and bites down her anger.
This song is SUCH a bop! Lute's part with the harder rock transition is such a brilliant snap in the midst of the what started as a pretty civil argument that esculated everything in a completely different firsction. The writing, composition, all of it's genius!
And that they wear masks with horns to look like the demons they kill. Also the X over their eye which seems like "turning a blind eye" to the pain they inflict.
Love Charlie not backing down from Adam as he gets in her face, on his turf. She stands her ground, defiant and righteously angry... a beautiful paradox. God the writing in this show is phenomenal.
I really love Emily's singing voice here. There is so much emotion in her singing. Also, the voice crack at 2:07 is amazing. You can really hear that the VAs were really into it. I got a lot of goosebumps from this song, especially Emily's parts. Great job.
Sje is heaven's Charlie. Both a little naive at first, both have their eyes opened to harsh realities, but neither loses the hope they have or the good within them. Both lift others and inspire them without thought for themselves. I think they will have a long and close friendship.
This is probably my favorite song in the entire first season of the show. Such a powerful rhapsody brimming with suspense and drama as Charlie and Vaggie go head-to-head against the high court of Heaven by themselves, and you can tell that things are out of sorts as Sera seems to be hiding her true intentions. I love how Emily is basically just the angel equivalent of Charlie and wholeheartedly wants the best for everyone, so much so that she's willing to make a stand against one of her own kind. And just that huge twist revelation at the end of Vaggie being an angel is the icing on the cake. Like, all of us watching basically already knew that, but just seeing the horrified expression on Charlie's face was like feeling the utter shock vicariously through her

She is so exasperated from constantly trying to do the right thing, with no cooperation from the other side. It feels like banging her head against the wall, but she’s finally got through!
Based on your use of past tense I'm gonna assume you've seen the finale... If someone dying for a righteous reason like love gets them moved from Hell to Heaven, there's no reason someone dying for sinful reasons like petty revenge wouldn't get them moved from Heaven to Hell. I've just got a hunch that we haven't seen the last of this iconic duo.
I love that when she does her angry solo, Emily’s topmost pair of wings flaps on the beat. You can really see it starting at “Was talk of virtue…” when the drumbeat comes in.
I love it when Charlie and Emily sing in perfect sync. It's so satisfying! Favorite lyric is "The rules are shades of gray when you don't do as you say! When you make the wretched suffer just to kill them again!" It's just...NOICE!
1:32 What I find funny is that Adam actually looks a slight bit contrite that he let the cat out and genuinely doesn't seem to get why it matters, while Lute in comparison is smugly enjoying Emily's horror. As much of an ahole as Adam is, he's nowhere near as malicious as his subordinate.

So hard, I've been listening to that part again and again

I love it, the stylings represent the characters and their actions, moods, etc. it’s so good
Something I just noticed.
@@fnaffoxy1987 oh my gosh, that’s such a good idea! I totally buy it.

Emily is similar to Charlie, who are genuinely good at heart, but still stand their grounds.

also the fear when Emily sings with Charlie
Yeah, we just... need more of this.
Charlotte “What about ME says unaccepting???” Morningstar

One thing I really like about this show is that, at least for the most part, Charlie doesn't pervay her inner demon form unless she feels genuinely threatened on a physical level. Or even at points that it slips out when shes extremely angry, she regains her composure super quickly. To me its a nice subtle detail that supports the portrayal of despite being born in Hell, she is a genuinely good soul.
This is Broadway quality music and storytelling. I get goosebumps every time.
(PS: for me, even with this reasoning, yes, she is wrong, but the no is acceptable and justifiable)
seraphim like her as a burning desire to do God's work
The fire part seemed less like Sera was evil and more that she’s trying to justify to herself responsibilities she feels forced to uphold.
Sera’s whole character was protecting heaven from hell’s uprising. She’s working only with the fears and uncertainty that Adam sold to her.
Deep down, Sera knows what she’s doing is awful and wrong, and she even clearly holds back comments of disgust from Adam, such as “I never would have agreed to your… yearly activities if I thought it would bring trouble to our doorstep”
The scene was more illustrating the struggle Sera has with knowing she’s responsible for countless deaths and attempting to alienate them as ‘it keeps heaven safe from a rebellion by hell’

I have to put on my art/english teacher hat on for this, but I love the simple symbolism of a friendly, welcoming face with fire in the eyes.

I don’t even know if he wants to go to heaven. Because then wouldn’t be able to engage in the same self-destructive behaviors he always has been. He put himself there. And he’s choosing to stay there at the end of the day.

Damn, Lutes and Adams voices together go so well 😍

Lmao
I like how Charlie can telekinetically tie up her hair after her bands fly off when she goes demon mode lol
Did anyone else notice that Vaggie's shadow's head lined up perfectly with the eyes and mouth of the mural behind Charlie?
Damn 0:56 hits hard:
Lute with the damn solo and Adam showing the middle finger in the background
Serra’s third eye figuratively and literally opened once she found out the truth before joining Charlie in song.
*Emily but wow I didn't notice that
@@Supaslasher yes thank you! My mind was going faster than my hands 😅
I don't think that is what it was supposed to be,
we see multiple times in this show that demons have a transformation the more power they draw on.
remember Hell is NOT the good guys, every person and soul in that place are horrible evil self serving souls.
even the ones watchers like to think are good, they aren't.
@@luizpaulo1038halo
But damn, Sera's VA sounds beautiful. "Not everything is spelled in ink" gives me goosebumps every time
EMILY: wait!!!
ADAM: sh##
got me 😂😂😂😂
I love how all these songs are so full of detail. I noticed Sera whispered to Adam before Emily said “WAIT!” And then he whispered “shit…”😂
1:31 shows how Emily looks at the sinners and has sympathy in her eyes, but when she looks to Adam and Sera she has no sympathy or respect left to them.
“The rules are shades of gray when you don’t do as you say!”
I just LOVE this line, it’s so powerful and it can be applied to SO many different situations too!
When they say "did you forget that hell is forever?" It's kinda haunting in a way, like I think about that line in particular a lot
I absolutely love the part where Emily break’s away from Sera and rises above her, like she’s, unintentionally, being better than her
2:10 I just realized this is a reprise of Hell Is Forever.
So that's why it hits to damn hard.
Damn, Lute's voice from 0:55 to 1:14 is FIRE!
That part is awesome!
Lute...
*I can't fix her but, damn!*
A wonderful detail?
When Adam is about to spill the beans and Sera goes to warn him to stop, _Em reacts to it with shock._
Em realized at that point that _whatever Adam was about to say, her sister was _*_part_*_ of it._
She already knew that Sera was involved in whatever horrible thing was about to be said, and she just wanted to be wrong which is why she asks 'Tell me, please, Sera, that you didn't know!' She knows the answer already but it has rocked her to her core to know what her sister has done. She doesn't want to be right, but knows she is.
This leads to her tiny 'no' when Sera _confirms she was not only aware of this but actively allowing it._ and her view of her sister is shattered forever.
Nice analysis
i thought sera was her mother 💀
i’m so happy i’m not the only one who realized
Yeah, at first I had a problem with how quickly she figured it out from so little, but on rewatch seeing that and the angel depicted in the flames, I realized that she really did have the pieces to put together.
@@Lunarcreeper OMG I THOUGHT I WAS THE ONLY ONE
Like, I'll play the song and tell the others there's a lot of meaning behind it
Well, the audience DID know Vaggie was an Angel since It was revealed on the episode prior to the song, but yeah
It's not fair sera >:(
Omg 😂 not here as well hahahaha
Shes in RUclips now😱
Disney wish they’d written this banger
I see whut u did their
An interesting note is that, for the entire song, for every one of Sera's lines, she's literally looking down at everyone. The visual storytelling was great.
It doesn't matter how much she preaches about angels being morally superior to demons, and them being equal in heaven, she considers the others beneath her, even subconsciously.
If Sera does consider everyone beneath her, then maybe she SHOULD be overthrown.
If we talk about visuals, this is swapped when Emily refuses to listen to Sera. All of Sera's shots become about her being looked down from everyone.
Charlie really went ">:/ It'S nOt FaIr SeRA."
Her and Emily are the epidimy of those emoticons lmao
Every time Charlie gets angry like that I get really excited cause it's so rare. She's usually sweet and puts up with a lot of shit so to see her lose her temper is a treat
@@VandriarI love the very restrained anger you can hear in her voice in that line. She's still trying to be diplomatic and reasonable and bites down her anger.
@@Syurtpiutha Same! Makes her telling Vaggie that no, she will not calm down and she is gonna say how she feels even better.
@@FrostBytePlayz7 epitome (no judgement)
The fire reflecting in Sera's eyes make sure you don't feel any sympathy for her position. It worked
This song is SUCH a bop! Lute's part with the harder rock transition is such a brilliant snap in the midst of the what started as a pretty civil argument that esculated everything in a completely different firsction. The writing, composition, all of it's genius!
This song is an absolute banger, like the entire shows soundtrack
I mean, not in its entirety, I could do without "Welcome to heaven" they could remove it suddenly and I wouldn't care, a 4/10 song imo.

Kind of ironic if it forever why kill souls
"If Hell Is Forever Then Heaven must be a lie, If Angels can do whatever and remain in the sky!" That line alone makes this series fucking golden! 🤘🖤
Anyone else realize the Exterminationers are shades of gray. The shade of gray line in song more... something I don't know the word I am looking for
And that they wear masks with horns to look like the demons they kill. Also the X over their eye which seems like "turning a blind eye" to the pain they inflict.
This entire part might be one of the most important parts of the show so far it’s SO intense
Great job.
I love the exasperation conveyed by that voice crack
Lute and adams part gotta be the best verse
1:34 lmao lute and adam's grins here are so bully behavior
Emily is my favorite by far. She honestly cares and wants people to succeed and doesn't like hypocrisy
Like, all of us watching basically already knew that, but just seeing the horrified expression on Charlie's face was like feeling the utter shock vicariously through her
Well said

Based on your use of past tense I'm gonna assume you've seen the finale... If someone dying for a righteous reason like love gets them moved from Hell to Heaven, there's no reason someone dying for sinful reasons like petty revenge wouldn't get them moved from Heaven to Hell.

1:03 Adam's shit-eating grin here is my favorite in the whole show.
