very cool ! lots of neat interaction ideas within that with the spawns and traps , looking forward to explore . i wonder if possible to have a lootable item that if placed is an interactive , for example if you looted a strange dragon egg or obelisk that you could save for later when meeting up in group , to then place and initiate the interactive event quest .

I wrote a mod a whole bunch of years ago that incorporated a similar idea with crates and such being searchable, but this is well beyond anything i ever attempted. Looks fantastic! I like the idea of special bosses tied to it as well, nice touch. I miss writing systems for uo now that i see this lol.

Oh that's awesome! Yes, it really is a start of some out of the box thinking and new generated content. What was the mod for? UO?

@@ultimaonlineforever I wrote a rather extensive system for a server called dark crusaders. The system was titled Shadows of Malaug and basically it would add shapeshifted mobs to spawned groups that would basically transform into a tougher monster on death. Defeating enough of these "Malaugrym" would eventually drop one of four scrolls that could be combined to teleport to a boss fight against "Malaug", a shapeshifting boss that would drain skills from players over the course of the fight. The searchable crates etc were an alternate method of getting the scrolls, but I kept them super-rare. There was much more to it, but that was the jist of it.

@@ultimaonlineforeverI'm 44 and have played UO since I was 19, or even 18. I'm amazed by how creative custom shards have become. And literally the amount of coding that has been done by the whole community of shards had got to be worth a million dollars or more, more than EA has spent on its development lol. EA really didn't care about the game but the Fans did and have kept this Icon alive for 20+ years.

It sounds good in theory.. but because something CAN be underneath anything, that would mean I would HAVE to check under everything or I might miss something. It sounds like it'd be like a Zelda game, but instead of being able to break pots and grass, you are able to break most things; chairs, tables, beds, walls, bushes, etc. So I'd come across a town and think: "*sigh*..okay. Time to destroy every house systematically to make sure there isn't something hidden." (12 hours later and the city is reduced to rubble) "Okie dokie, found some trinkets and a cave not bad.. time to raze another city to the ground!" I like the concept.. but it sounds incredibly tedious.

Although we could and there may be situations where it calls for it, not everything will be breakable, usable or harvestable. But when there is something, you can see it on screen almost instantly. Keep in mind we can change anything on a whim if there are issues that arise. What you see isn't always what you get. It is not static content.
