@051262LILI Yes, Play Dead are rather unheard of, I'm so glad that I brought them to your attention, it's always exciting when you find new bands out and their music! No need to thanks haha, I love sharing music with passionate peole like yourself!
....good stuff....thanks....this sounds familiar for some reason....there was a radio station WDRE in the NYC area in the 80's early 90's that played this type of music, and we could just barely get it on the radio here....I wonder if this was on their rotation....you would have loved that station Guy.....
I've got this album and all their 12" singles and bootleg tapes from the 80s!!! never saw them as they had already split up but was my favourite Goth band along with Chatshow!
@guyfromnewcastle Je suis très , très contente que nous puissions partager notre passion de la musique et ceci grace à l'Internet ! Donc un grand merci à la technologie du monde moderne !!!!! Le monde actuel n'a pas que des défauts !!!! Bye , bye !!!
They were on to something with their sound - they seemed to be on a path towards a melodic metal/post-punk hybrid that was less chaotic than Killing Joke. It's a shame they didn't stick around longer.
@@guyfromnewcastle I reckon Steve must have had an interest in the NWOBHM scene and 70s metal. I can't think of another band that did it quite like Play Dead.
There were too many great bands around at the time...and now there are minimal great bands ....so sad...I loved Play Dead...this was their best track, closely followed by Pleasureland...
Most under-rated band ever anywhere? If you agree click thumbs up.
One pf my favourite songs when i was 17.. 51 now. Damm i miss those days.
We all miss those dayz+bands, gigs etc.
Me too, danse society, skeletal family, sex gang. The best era in music. Sadly we’re all old who remember it now
Love Play Dead..... right from back then.
Memories, used to sing this to my mum(called Isabel, ) while dancing around the house as a young lad.
finding this is great; it takes me back to seeing them live at Rock City in Nottingham so many 'many' years ago... happy days!!! :P
Great band! listen a lot to this in the 80`s
I always loved them
There are alot of underpreciated goth / post-punk bands they're oversadowed by the others
Saw these on my 18th birthday, am 46 now... still love their music : ))
Love play dead very powerful band & sound awesome I have lots of great memories
I met Rob Hickson, when volunteering at a community centre in Brighton. He's a very good painter and decorator now.
He came up with most of his material when in prison for drug dealing. He read because he didn't like the other prisoners.
Definitely underrated, but a must for those that never heard these guys!
Unique entity among all!
Beautiful beautiful music.
have this vinyl! :)

BROTHER,
"TIME WAS RUNNING SHORT..."
CRASH IT...AND MOBILIZE...
The best goth songs are always girls names, alice, evelyn, louise, marian, amelia, cristine, ......
Amelia is a disgusting pedophile song.
Laura by Fields of the Nephilim, Madeline by The Shroud, Judith by The Cult. Lol.

Totally agree, mate.

@@JCridford I think some members of The Marionettes came from the NWOBHM scene originally. Interesting connection.
Goddamn I love this
Best from that era/genre
whoever turned me onto play dead from a response to the cult thanks old man using my sons comp
I will name my first daughter Isabel

It's because bands like Play Dead sound authentic. Modern bands just sound like they're running a formula so the material has no spirit.
Hardd
damn fine.....
Did anyone press "play" and not cry at 00:13? Thanks dude - I have the LP upstairs but that is harder to share on-line...
I have this on vinyl. Anyone want to buy it?
Just discovering this band from a video called goth is a four letter word.
@73mandala Oxford, England mate.
nightmoves in glasgow 83 what anight
I think that might have been when they supported Alien Sex Fiend, they blew us off the stage.
There are several hundreds of those bands on those forums😂😂😂
great track respect mick reed
oy slammantha what happened to the banbury lot then...........?.
Me and my former co worker had a lustful fling on the breakfast shift after my nightshift was finished and her name was Isabella, lol, not isabel,
Get in...proper music....named my 2nd daughter after this Track ( I did add an extra L & E tho...but this was a big influence...)
