Overpriced bland food. Only true morons go there for "good food", the reality is you pay to sit next to some interesting artifacts you can stare at while you eat, the food is secondary, and the kitchen definitely knows it.
Since the point was to be profitable for Arnie and the other investors, of course the kitchen budget would be lower than at an actual nice restaurant - otherwise where's the profit for them.
That made sure you only went there when cousins were in town and were curious - you'd humor them, but once you had been once yourself, you never had even a tiny temptation to go back. As to the Star Wars hotel - if they wanted to charge what they did, needed to put it in Dubai. In Florida, you could maybe charge double normal rate for a very themed room, possibly triple or quadruple for an entire bespoke building such that it has the feel of being inside a star cruiser... yeah that might even fly. This is just more of the chaos Disney has been dealing with since the days when Michael Eisner was in charge. So many false promises were made in the 1980s and 90s of attractions that never came to fruition. Eisner became known as the face of false advertising.
The Galactic Starcruiser had the potential to be great, but Kathy and her dislike for the Star Wars George Lucas created got in the way. Also, the ridiculous pricing. Seriously who was this hotel for? It certainly wasn't for average familes living on a tight financial budget. When Uncle Walt built Disneyland, his goal was not to make it an experience only rich people could enjoy. The current people in charge seem to have forgotten this very important thing.
I'm so happy the Starcruiser will be remembered as a 2-billion-dollar failure and a galactic embarrassment for the company. At this point Disney is like a dying pet that is in pain and needs to be put out of its misery.

Eisner was a figurehead who benefited from the labor and talents of people who to this day have not received the credit they deserve. The animators, imagineers, and cast members whose names have been lost to history.

Just think: They could’ve taken this exact same hotel (building) but based the aesthetic on the very first ship we saw in Star Wars: Princess Leia’s ship. They could’ve had an animatronic C-3PO at a Help Desk responding to customer inquiries… and he could auto-detect languages and speak to customers in that language. The staff could’ve dressed as Rebel troopers. A couple R2 units could’ve served as bellhops pulling a luggage cart. You could’ve let guest play a game of laser tag: Rebels vs Imperials. They could’ve made a big stunt show around Jabba’s Yacht and the Sarlac pit. This is the kind of stuff Disney used to do. If a technology didn’t exist they would invent it. If it came to a question of cost vs entertainment, they would go entertainment.

I was actually going to go to this, until I saw the commercial that they released. When I found out it was based on only Disney Star Wars I did a hard pass. I cancelled my reservation. Contrary to popular opinion there are a TON of people who can afford this insanely expensive trip. Most of us die hard Star Wars fans (older people who are well established in our careers) would never give a dime to the Disney Star Wars story line. This is another example, more proof that the majority of Star Wars fan are fans of the George Lucas Star Wars arc. THERE IS A MAJOR DIFFERENCE!! Another proof of that statement is look at how few people tuned in to the Star Wars Celebration. Heck, one of the actors said that the greatest thing about Star Wars is there isn't good or evil!!! GEORGE LUCAS SAID STAR WARS WAS ALL ABOUT GOOD VS EVIL. But Disney wants to push their own agenda. They destroyed/cancelled all previous story lines in the Expanded Universe. Now they tease characters from that Universe trying to get the main Star Wars fans back, but it's way too late. If you look at my house, you'll see Star Wars life size figures, and a ton of Star Wars stuff all throughout. I do not buy anything Disney Star Wars related!! I did buy a life size Grogu, but that was for the first season, which was good. I stopped watching Mando because it was too agenda driven, and no longer felt like Star Wars. Disney as a company used to be known for customer service, customer always being right, and providing their CUSTOMERS with what the customer wanted. There were books written that were required reading for managers that talked about the Disney model which should be followed. But then something changed. Disney no longer cares about the customer. Management feels they know what is best for the customer, and they push it hard! They allowed wokeness and children inappropriate themes to permeate every aspect of their products. MANY Parents no longer think Disney is a child safe brand! I am one of them!!! Universal is growing and has amazing plans for the future!! Universal listens to their customers and their park is thriving and growing!!! They have Super Nintendo Land coming soon. Their Harry Potter park is 2nd to none! Immersive experiences like Dining, interactive wand experiences, and real world feel!! I was a life long Disney fan, but no longer. Disney's immoral leadership, twisted world views, and greed is causing them to collapse. Oh, they will be here for a while, but if they keep doubling down on agenda driven content rather than good and child safe stories, they will eventually collapse.

I had heard that they would tear it down and put something else in it's place. But it's been running at 25% occupancy, so what can you do? It has a large staff (regular hotel staff plus all the character players) in relation to the number of guests and probably wasn't making any money. I doubt the feedback from the guests who did stay there was not all that positive, either, and the return bookings (coming back again) were undoubtedly low. All hotels consider REVPAR (revenue per available room) to gauge how well they are doing, so 25% occupancy is bad.

In a world of creation and art,
One woman sought to play a part.
    Arrogant and full of pride,
She set out to take the reins and ride.
A franchise once so bright and bold,
Now in her grasp, it soon grew cold.
    Jealous of the creator's fame,
She sought to make it her own game.
But in her quest for glory and might,
She lost sight of what was right.
Firing those who dared to disagree,
She ruled with an iron decree.
And as the profits slowly fell,
She refused to listen and couldn't tell,
That her self-insert characters were just a ploy,
To make people love her and forget the joy.
Now the franchise lies in ruins and disarray,
Thanks to the woman who wouldn't stray.
From her path of ego and disdain,
She caused it all to go down the drain.
So let this be a lesson to all,
Who seek to rise but then do fall.
Humility and respect go a long way,
And can make or break a franchise any day.

They earned around 2 billion for TFA, 400 million for RO, a billion for TLJ, a loss of around 300 million for Solo, and 600 million for ROS, minus the probable numbers for all the shows on Disney+ and spent 2 billion for this stupidity and I seem to recall a cost of 1 billion for Galaxys Edge...
Under the assumption that this would be around the net income Disney has had for this franchise...
They would still be almost 4 billion in the red for Star Wars...

It cost 250 million to make.
It was at least that for marketing costs.

      TLJ maybe 400 million
RO less because they had to re-shoot so much of an almost finished film.

It couldn't have also been the outrageous $5,000.00 price tag for a simple "three"-day, two-night stay in cramped accommodations with sub-par experiences, no amenities, an average dinner show experience, and overpriced merch? Nor could it have been the Actors/Actresses and Directors publicly berating and name-calling fans? Surely not! Especially since Twitter, Facebook, Instagram, ABC, CNN, The View, etc. ALL reviewed it and publicly stated 5/5 Star glowing reviews about just how phenomenal and worthwhile the experience was. I also thought all the fans unequivocally loved this version of Star Wars and were flocking to it in droves! So, how on earth could this happen!? :'( (
