Imagine what will happen if they add a test fixture for SMD devices and the functionality of a curve tracer for matching semiconductors. Every engineer would mention this as part of a fundamental engineering toolkit. So they are almost there...

I was thinking the same thing when I first saw this item on eBay - why not incorporate a transistor curve tracer functions? But to make a proper transistor curve tracer you'll need a plus and minus 50 to 100 volt supply. Or I guess if you just used two 9v batteries (+ and -) that would tell you something about your transistor profile. But I guess I'll have to fall back on my Jud Williams Model A for now ; )

OpenSource component tester in nicer case is great idea. Bundled SMD tester pincers and another menu item for LED test (extend diode test with added polarity switching in runtime to lit backward soldered LEDs) would be a bomb. Oscilloscope is redundant here.

Why would I want that when I have a multimeter? Just curious, really.
I also want to test sliding neodymium magnets across coils of wire and reading the oscilloscope readings that way. I see the TC2 doesn't have a button or setting for MAX or MIN readings. Perhaps can it record the data to download to a computer as a data logger?

    • @TechCornerTV
      @TechCornerTV  2 года назад +2

Hi Jacques, let me be honest, I don't work with that voltage in my projects and I'm self tought person with already some knowledge, but light years behing any engineer. That said, i *think* you'll be ok measuring AC if you use the 10X probe. The thing of measuring with the oscilloscope is not normally to measure the voltage, you can do that without a sweat with a multimeter as you mentioned. But with the oscilloscope you can analyse the signal, the sinewave, if you have ripples/noise and stuff like that.
The oscilloscope can give you also vpp (voltage peak to peak) that I don't know if the multimeter can give you that, probable some high end can... really don't know. The DSO-TC2 oscilloscope part is (as far I can tell) heavilly based on the DSO-138 (PRO) that is one of the more basic oscilloscopes that you can find, consider the oscilloscope a bonus, it works ok, but don't expect any other functionalities other than what you saw in the video. The DSO-PRO (5Mhz) also from FNIRSI as lot more functions that this one and for almost the same price, BUT, doesn't have the multi-tester.
Hope that my comment in some way helped, thank you so much for watching and for your input on this video! 👍

If you do sliding magnets and set the triggning and time scale right you should be able to catch a max min on the osc. Won't be many significant figures.
Just noticed that when trig is "AUTO" you can increase the time unit to 500s! And it does show a Vmax & Vmin.

The deal killer is the 200KHz bandwidth ... I instantly think man a 1GSPS osciloscope with 2 channels start at say 300€ ...

Hey John, exactly, the idea in this device is to join to cheap/low cost devices in to one, I don' think they even thought in ramp it up a bit, with all the work on the shell and the overall quality, it deserver a bit mode speed on the oscilloscope, but I get it, they have to sell low to sell a lot. Thanks for watching! 👍

@@TechCornerTV I mean it's indeed very handy no doubt since one get's to have a component tester and a (very limited) dso ... I would not mind to have no doubt especially for the price. But the sampling rate on a digital oscilloscope is (almost) everything ... :)
      Nice video btw, congrats.

Hi Jeamel, what's up with yours? It stopped working? If so, go to the www.fnirsi.cn/support and use the QRCode to join the whatsapp channel and ask for support. They probably replace that unit or give you a solution. Thanks for watching and good luck! 👍

Such a pity you do not see ohms when you test caps, and for me it is then a no go, you also have to see ohms,
because a lot of times the uF and Vloss is good, but the ESR/ohms is bad, and that means it's a bad cap, and you
cannot see that with this device, such a pity, i wanted to buy it, also because of the Oscilloscope, but i will stick
with my BSIDE ESR02PRO, that is a great accurate device.

Hi, it's on the way the DSO-TC3 that already has ESR and it will be reviewed here pretty soon! Stay tunned... thanks for watching!

@@TechCornerTV OK that would be great, i look it up, and i will wait for your review.
Do you know 100% it will have a ESR meter in it that does omes?
