I came across your story here after seeing the found documentary. My heart absolutely broke for your birth mom when she said she was afraid her daughters wouldnt forgive her. I am so happy to see you have such a compassionate view of the situation she was forced into. I hope you get to meet your biological family, and hope that your birth mother is able to begin to forgive herself and heal. And I hope you get to connect to your birth sisters too!

Hi Amanda. Through 23andme my 17 year old found a sister, who was also adopted. They finally met this summer. It's very exciting. I wish you all the best.

Thank you for sharing your story! I learned about you from the Found documentary! I’m a fellow Chinese adoptee and I’ve never tried to find my birth parents. I always grew up believing I would never be able to. It’s very heart warming to hear about your success story here!

Hi Amanda, thanks for sharing your story. I’m a Chinese adoptee myself and this is very inspiring for me to find my birth parents. If you want help translate your Chinese dialogue with your birth family, I’m happy to do it for you. I know I sound stupid by saying this since I’m a complete stranger, but as a fellow Chinese adoptee, I understand that there’s a lot of mixed emotions in finding your birth family.

Thanks for sharing your story. I'm an adoptive mom of 2 girls from China. You stated in your video that adoptive parents may feel threatened that the newly discovered birth parents may take their daughter away. I don't think the fear is that they will take you away in a physical sense. In my experience knowing and talking to other adoptive parents, I think some adoptive parents fear is that the birth parents will emotionally take their children away. It is as if they think that your love is finite and if you open your heart to your birth family, that you will close your heart to them -- as if love is a zero-sum game. Of course, we know that's not true. For example, it sounds like your parents adopted a younger girl - your sister. Their love for you didn't diminish when they added your sister to the family. Instead their heart grew and they loved both of you completely. As you help your mom navigate this new situation, you may want to use the example of her love for both you and your sister to assure her that the emotional bonds you have with her won't change -- even if you eventually build emotional bonds with your birth family too.

Fellow adoptee; middle school was the hardest for me too. I also was told “it’s no wonder you’re adopted”. Kids are awful.

They most likely found you on GEDmatch. Since people primarily use that to connect multiple DNA companies and services with one another!

Your story is very interesting. Especially since you didn't recall uploading your data to a Chinese DNA site. That was lucky, I guess. Thanks for sharing. I realize this story was from more than a year ago, but I just saw it.

Hi, I am from China. As far as I know, many parents also want to find their lost daughters, but it is very difficult. There is a high probability that they will not know that you went abroad later. If they do a DNA comparison someday ,it's possible, hopefully one day you will find your family,

Thanks for sharing! I have to do more videos explaining my journey to finding my birth father and then later meeting my birth father. I also always knew i was adopted, I'm so glad my parents did it that way. I was really proud of being from Guatemala. If you get a chance I have this short video about it. ----> ruclips.net/video/FS8rZ9npmmo/видео.html

Hello, May I share an Old Testament Verse with you from Daniel 7:14 "And there was given him dominion, and glory, & a Kingdom, that all people, nations, & languages, should SERVE Him; his dominion is an Everlasting dominion, which shall not pass away, and his kingdom shall not pass away, and His Kingdom that which shall not be destroyed."
God the Father loves you so much that He sent Holy Sinless Jesus (His Holy Son) to earth to be born of a virgin. Then, to grow up and die on a cross for our sins. He was in the tomb for 3 days, then Father God raised Holy and Sinless Jesus Christ (Y'shua) to Life! He appeared to people and went back to Heaven. We must receive Sinless Jesus sincerely to be God's child(John 1:12).After we get saved by grace through faith in Christ, if we truly love the Lord Jesus Christ, then we will obey Jesus(John 14:15). Mark 1:15 "And saying, the time is fulfilled, & the kingdom of God is at hand: Repent ye, and believe the gospel." Jesus said in John 14:15 "If you love Me, keep My commandments. "There's a real hell. It says in Revelation 21:8 "But for the cowardly, & unbelieving, and abominable, and murderers, & immoral persons sorcerers & idolaters & all liars, their part will be in the lake that burns with fire & brimstone..." Please sincerely receive Holy Jesus & put your true faith and trust in Him today & please repent. Will you have a Real encounter with Holy Lord Jesus (Y'shua is His Hebrew Name) and stay in a Genuine relationship with Him daily please?
