@@jhn146Aand yet it still manages to completely get the Catholic view of Mary wrong as well. As a Catholic, trust me, none of us are supporting this film. My parish even had a talk about it being heretical in its portrayal of Mary and the birth of Christ.
In the trailer when the angel tells Mary that she will have a son, she says, “This is not possible.” This statement indicates doubt. However, in Luke 1:34, she actually says, “How can this be?” She didn’t doubt that God could do it, she just didn’t know HOW God could do it. It’s a subtle but important difference. In the scriptures Mary is shown to trust God, but in the media she is shown to doubt God. For the Truth, we must read the Word and keep our eyes on Jesus! Edit: As someone in the comments below pointed out, the word “can” does indicate doubt. Apologies for using a different translation. When looking at the KJV, Mary asks, “How shall this be.” Shall indicates something will definitely happen, so Mary did not doubt that God could make her conceive, she just didn’t know how. Please see my response below for a more thorough explanation. God bless!
I read Luke today also and unlike John the Baptist’s father, he had doubt when told about John, but when the angel came to Mary, she had no doubt in her heart
How can this be is undoubtedly a form of doubt. There’s no question regarding this. She is asking this because naturally she could not have a baby, she was a young virgin woman. I’m assuming the comments here are from a Roman Catholic perspective. But the reality is that she doubted the news she was receiving. 🤷🏻🙆🏻
We tried watching Mary last night. We turned it off 20 minutes in about where Mary was in a convent and Lucifer comes to her along with Gabriel. Non of this is in the Bible. And it felt very blasphemous. We will stick to The Nativity movie. So much better and accurate.
Yes so true so sad how this movie has many part are so out of scripture’s 🥺 and i just think it’s demonic. My spirit didn’t sit right when i was watching the whole movie. Jesus have mercy on these people who made this movie.
I did the same thing and wrote my comment. I turned it off in 25.minutes. it was packed with lies. No angel.came to Mary's mother. No angel came to Mary's father. She wasnt living in the convention to see through her destiny. No one knew about this. She was a simple girl. I think they are trying to esteem mary more than she was. She wasnt holy or immortal.
My gut tells me ,just based on this trailer alone, that they're going to play up the 'girl power' element here, and not in a Biblically accurate way, but in a modern 21st century way.
God does work in mysterious ways. Perhaps a Netflix movie about a biblical story will spark someone to read the Bible and find God. All things are possible with God. God bless. ❤
@@AnnaBellaChannel yeah we love mary but mary is not about feminism, go watch the movie and i think you will see it also than this movie is not scripture
I was moved by the reality if what Mary must have gone through as a pregnant woman unwedded in those times. It must have cost her, Joseph and their families deeply and emotionally. Sometimes we should just enjoy and take something from it, and stop being so critical and divisive. Be blessed 🙏🏻 ❤
Just watched the movie. While I applaud Netflix for producing a movie on this topic, this is a bad movie because it adds fantastical elements to the biblical story, it leaves parts out of the biblical story and it flat out gets part of the biblical story wrong.
You can tell from the trailer that there are lots of scenes that are not biblical and only based on speculation of what "may have happened." It is very difficult to make an entire movie just about Mary based on the Bible because the Bible actually has very few references to her. By the way, "Love will save the world" is a very New Age thing to say.
"And now abideth faith, hope, charity, these three; but the greatest of these is charity." (1 Corinthians 13:13 - KJV) "And now abide faith, hope, love, these three; but the greatest of these is love." (1 Corinthians 13:13 - NKJV) "So faith, hope, love abide, these three; but the greatest of these is love." (1 Corinthians 13:13 - Revised Standard Version Catholic Edition)
Well, Gods love will save us, through Christ, but aperently the earth must pass away, for the new earth? I could be wrong here, but their should be an end time before the ressurextion
Yes it is. Jesus will save the world, not our human idea of what love is. All biblical movies and shows take a lot of liberty to fill in the blanks and add personality and fluff to the Bible. The Bible isn’t entertainment.
Any film or show based on the Bible will obviously have scenes not from the Bible and will be based on speculation. That’s basically almost like any movie based off any book.
I am watching the movie and in awe, that they were able to distort history so badly. I believe Mary's testimony is so precious why make such a creepy mock out of it?
I love that God does meet with us to show us the truth if we come before Him and lay down our pride and humbly ask for Him to show us. God delights in revealing truth. Maranatha.
Mary was a tool, just like all of us are, in God's story. She was chosen to bring our Savior into the world. She should not be worshipped but admired immensely 🙏
@@ec2487 .. Mary definitely fits the definition of a tool aka something used to carry out a particular function. You're giving the word tool a negative outlook. God does and use people for this Story🙏
Mary was blessed by God among women, but she is not a Queen to be worshipped. In Luke 1:28, Mary is called “favored one” (literally, “endowed or filled with grace”) but only in the sense that God, by grace, chose her to be the human mother who would give birth to the Christ child. This same idea and word is used of all believers in Ephesians 1:6. We have all been endowed with grace. To say any more than this is to add to what the text of Scripture says.
@@_prodbyjc_ The woman and the dragon? There was no queen in that. I thought it was talking about Israel as a whole, because sometimes or cities are referred to as "she" I think Isaiah did that alot. I also thought it could be talking about creation too since the dragon, the devil, turns his attention to humanity after he could not destroy the woman. I dont think alot of us will understand the mysteries of Revelation.
@@Heather_no_numbersShe is mentioned as a woman crowned with twelve stars and is the one who gives birth to the savior. Also absolutely no Catholic worships Mary 😂. I really don’t understand how you are that ignorant to Catholic doctrine with the internet available. I can forgive you if you just didn’t know, but please do not spread or feed into this false belief that we have of Mary. Bearing false witness is a sin. Mary is the mother of our Lord and Jesus entrusted her to humanity right before he died on the cross. She is blessed and deserves our respect just as any other person who played a role in salvation deserves such as Moses, Noah, etc. John 19:26-27: "When Jesus saw his mother there, and the disciple whom he loved standing nearby, he said to her, 'Woman, here is your son,' and to the disciple, 'Here is your mother'". Luke 1:39-43: At that time Mary got ready and hurried to a town in the hill country of Judea, where she entered Zechariah’s home and greeted Elizabeth. When Elizabeth heard Mary’s greeting, the baby leaped in her womb, and Elizabeth was filled with the Holy Spirit. In a loud voice she exclaimed: “Blessed are you among women, and blessed is the child you will bear! But why am I so favored, that the mother of my Lord should come to me? Luke 1:46-49: And Mary said: “My soul glorifies the Lord and my spirit rejoices in God my Savior, for he has been mindful of the humble state of his servant. From now on all generations will call me blessed, for the Mighty One has done great things for me-holy is his name.”
Explanation that was given in this video is exactly why there’s so many different denominations. Having the original founding father’s teachings explained through the oral traditions is the best way to understand what these stories are about to say that Jordan Peterson doesn’t understand the Bible is a silly conclusion. He has interviewed bishops from both Catholic and orthodoxy that has come to a very solid understanding of what the stories mean.
Mark Driscoll for real? The trailer alone should alarm the Holy Spirit in you! It implies Mary's parent's "promise" (which is not Biblical) has something to do with the Messiah being born to her? Adding a bunch of weird stuff like Herod seeing visions of the crucifixion - or that he saw or met Mary at all. Then glorifying Mary about being "far more powerful than words"... leading to imply something that is entirely not found in scripture. Some modern fem perspectives about having an issue with marrying Joseph. The angel Gabriel depicted as some creepy cloaked shadow figure. Everything about the trailer alone screams perversion and distortion and deception. Mark, Netflix is not "getting interested" in Biblical themes as you seem to say here. No, they are deliberately making Biblical themed movies targeted at Christians in order to misrepresent core truths. It's a deception scheme. And the target audience here is Catholics. So they venerate and center-stage Mary while all the while perverting and warping the central themes and truths of the gospel in the process.
This movie sucked. I had to take several breaks while watching & still didn’t make it to the end. More Bible believers with the fear of the Lord needed, with knowledge & wisdom.
This movie moved me, I felt it in my spirit. I feel closer to Mary for some reason. I don’t know how to explain what this movie made me feel.. maybe added another layer of love? A layer I didn’t even know could exist…Actually, that’s exactly what it gave me ❤hope that makes sense!
This movie is basically an inspiration from the immaculate conception which I like, I also appreciate your commentary about Mary. A lot of Christians tend to dismiss her role in the bible with Jesus' ministry for some reason. I don't think this is completely biblically based, and I will DEFINITELY be treading with caution when I watch this.. but at the very least it DOES make me want to revisit what I know about Our Lady, the Immaculate conception and the Gospels.
Thanks for your insight Pastor. I'm definitely not going to watch. I just don't trust secular mainstream entertainment to do any justice to anything Biblical. That being said Merry Christmas to you and your family!! God bless you. I appreciate your ministry. Praise the Lord our Savior Jesus Christ.
I raised 75k and Kate Elizabeth Becherer is to be thanked. I got my self my dream car just last weekend, My journey with her started after my best friend came back from New York City
I know that woman (Kate Elizabeth Becherer) If you were born and raised in new York you'd know too, she's my family's Broker for 3yrs till now and a very good one if you asked me. No doubt she is a good woman.
If Mary's father ever said that to her, is not in the Bible do not add to or take away from what God has given us. You create all sorts of odd stories and conjectures and reasons for this and that. This is quite possibly harmful. Because people will see this movie and take it for reality.
This isn’t the Bible and I think that anything which Glorifies our Lord and the Bible can lead many to Jesus! We NEED more Godly content and I am very glad for these kinds of movies
No mattet what sort of movie it is, Netflix always finds a way to turn them into crap. Can be really great, and then the ending just ruins the whole thing lol
It wasn’t completely accurate, Some things were taking out of context and for entertainment purposes only, but I do respect the accurate things that were in the movie, As a Christian I give it an honest 7/10.
I don’t think Joseph and Mary knew each other or at least all that well. Joseph was from Bethlehem which isn’t that close to Nazareth especially in that time period. So an arranged marriage for the two. Then they have to travel to Bethlehem for the census because he is from Bethlehem. Then they have to travel to Egypt to avoid being found by Herod.

Honestly...i started to watch a few minutes and i stopped because the Angel Gabriel gave me weird vibes...like I want to know if the actors are Christian. It matters and it affects the delivery. Gabrial felt off to me...
Angels are otherworldly and godly they are meant to have an odd vibe. It is meant to be hard to tell the difference between good and bad angels. A mortal person can only do it by the having the help of the Light of Christ within them or they hear the still small voice of the holy ghost & follow the guidance from the holy spirit.
They might have forgotten about Elizabeth, that she's pregnant with John the Baptist in her 6th month of pregnancy. Mary heard this from the angel and was already pregnant when she heard everything from the angel himself. That would make Jesus 9 months apart from his cousin John the Baptist. And the time of first blue moon ever appeared in the sky, and the first meeting of the kings from the east. Started in their journey to find Yeshua(or Jesus). They all found Jesus as 2 years old boy, probably on the real birthday of Jesus. It wasn't the month of December that anyone might think that. It was when the time of new lambs to be borne as in springtime. And since Jesus was already the age of 33 years old, his time was getting very short. If anyone tries to find John the Baptist birthday, minus 3 months. You will find the real birthday of Jesus.
I miss your sermon about Esther From probably a decade ago Any chance you still have that and could put it back online?Since?I didn't download it the first time The one line that always stuck with me is that you said zerksies is a jerksey's
I miss this sermon series too but it was also like....a year long I think? I found some of the videos on his channel, mostly clips from one of his Esther series which is from 12 Years ago, "Jesus Is a Better King (sermon preview)" is the start of the series. Not the same one you're referencing but this was way after the original Esther series and provides even in clips some great Bible teaching.
Mary was a teenager e.g 13 yrs plus when she was with child with Jesus and Joseph was much older like 45 plus when she was married to him. Joesph was a good man who loved her.
I have a problem with a creeping, underlying theme of "girl power" in this series just like almost every other movie. And when Mary talks to the angel she says what Zachariah says which was it was an impossibility. Also i worry that with this series, people will get the wrong idea and start to pray to Mary and worship her rather than the only one who deserves praise and worship, Christ Jesus. The Bible says that He is the only way to the Father God and ONLY HE can intercede for us. Not saints or Mary. It is like the Israelites worshipping Moses for the miracles instead of God.

So the movie trailer show her in labor pain. However, some people, specially Catholics believe Mary never felt pain. “ before the was in labor pain she deliver a boy”. Not sure 🤔
Looking forward to seeing how they portray Mary. Will they present her as the mother of Yahweh, or, be more biblical and present her as the mother of the human messiah/son of Yahweh? If you read the birth narrative in Luke it's fascinating how Luke doesn't mention incarnation at all. That theology has to be brought to and read into the text. But for Luke to claim to be passing on a trustworthy account (1:1-4) to Theophilus but leave out the fact that the agent of the genesis creation entered Mary's womb from the outside is unfathomable because that is a fantastic piece of the story. Would not as storyteller (in an oral culture) mention such a thing in his more formal account if that indeed was the narrative he'd heard and that had been circulating? If Luke believed incarnation then he certainly wouldn't then mislead Theophilus by writing something rather different--that the reason the child will be called the son of God is because of The Most High's (Yahweh's) supernatural begetting of him in Mary's womb (1:35). There's nothing there about Jesus being a preexistent spirit-son who is the alleged second person a a tripersonal God who somehow transformed into a baby. There's the straightforward story of Yahweh's power over her miraculously creating her son Jesus. If Luke believed the incarnation story then what he does say is so incomplete that it amounts to a lie because he's claiming to be presenting a reliable (and more complete) account of what all happened. Luke's story is what we should trust. But it cannot possibly be reconciled with the mythic story of a preexistent being of some sort coming into her from the outside. Luke's narrative cannot be reconciled with the later ideas that Mary changed God's (Yahweh's) diaper. That Yahweh-passes-through-a-vagina story would've been blasphemous to both Luke and his audience. It's time to drop the myths and get back to apostolic tradition.
Bruh that's the secular Israeli flag not a flag for Jerusalem. Jewish people dispersed all over the world during WW2 and the modern day isreal are not originally from that land
I just finished it and I must say that it was amazing. I didn’t notice any sort of extreme feminism during the film although I did expect it considering…. Netflix. All in all 👌🏼
It is cute, but has nothing to do with the real Mary, the one who became the Mother of Jesus. It is a fantasy, with a resemblance of a historical character. Then it turns boring
All of the angels are all brother and sisters and lucifer used to be good b4 the fall and when God created him with the other angels. It's not far fetched if the word brother was still used. If u had a black hearted sibling on the way to hell due to their life style, u urself might still call them brother or sister while disagreeing with their choices. All I'm saying is its not that big of a deal.

Bethlehem is in the West Bank and under the control of the Palestinian Authority. The Palestinian Authority welcomes pilgrims to Bethlehem because it is a tourist attraction for them to make money off of. And you are going to be safe there as the Palestinians that live and work there do not want any trouble that will impact their livelihoods.
What concerns me the most about the trailer alone is that there sure seems to be a great emphasis/admiration/fanatic obsession with Mary but what about Jesus? Isn’t He the Savior of the world?! Where is His glory? Where is His praise? (Malachi 1:6) It just baffles me that we (humans in general) will bow down to so many different idols but not to Christ who died for us and gave Himself for us. I just want a Biblically sound God-honoring movie about Christ Jesus, my Lord, and precious Redeemer that will glorify Him in His diety and humanity and edify me in my faith. Is that so much to ask? 😭
Mary is the new Eve, the new Tabernacle, the Mother of Jesus (God), Queen of Heaven, conceived without sin. Amen. This movie is greatly misleading at best and not Netflix’s story to tell. I mean Netflix, amongst its normal cinematic debauchery, made a TV series about satan. The enemy! And it’s apparently a hit. And, we’re (“Christians”)going to entertain supporting Netflix in a “movie” about Jesus’ mother. Come on people! Mary, refuge of sinners, pray for us that have recourse to thee! Oh sacred heart of Jesus, have mercy on us!
Only Jesus was sinless, Mary herself said she needed a savior. Also, Jesus is the only refuge of sinners. I won’t even get into the Queen of Heaven thing. It maybe another title for Ishtar, she’s mentioned in the Bible. Merry Christmas🎄💖
@ This is Protestant Tradition going against 2000 years of Christian Tradition. Even the Protestant founder, Luther, would disagree with your assessment of Christian teaching. But, I do appreciate your well wishes. Merry Christmas! And a blessed Advent. Sola Scriptura has caused so much confusion and division and is completely non-biblical.
When they said that her birth was a miracle, that is because it is hewing to the Catholic churches non-biblical theory that Mary's birth would also have to be in immaculate conception. Something about only someone sinless could give birth to someone sinless? Extra biblical non-biblical nonsense.
Having watched the movie with my daughter here are our conclusions: The movie is nicely done, cinematically. If you know absolutely nothing about the Christian faith, you can watch this movie and say it's worth the money you might have paid in a movie theater. That is the good part. Now the bad part, if you are a knowledgeable Christian (Meaning you actually know your Bible -- the true canon accepted by all branches of Christianity -- not just the ones you pick and choose for your sectarian purposes), and you know actual Christian history, not legends. Then you will be horrified by this movie as a complete Christian history disaster. Top of the list that this movie should be watched and recommended with extreme caution, the story is based on the false, non-canonical work called the Protoevenagelium of James. This work has been condemned by the early Church multiple times. It's a late work, composed some time in the late 100s A.D. And it purports to be written by the brother of the Lord, James. But James (The Brother of the Lord) was martyred between 64-67 A.D. Some near 100+ years earlier. The Earliest reference we have to the book from a Church Father, Origen, in the 250s, condemned the book. The Bishop of Rome (Pope Innocent in 405 Anathematized the Book) and Christian councils condemned the book. The Orthodox Church declared the book apocryphal. That said, for some strange reason, some say it has some "useful" things in it, which makes absolutely no sense, such as the names of Mary's parents Joachim and Anna which are found nowhere else in the writings of the early Church but only in this condemned book). To the point that the repeatedly condemned work has wormed its way into certain church theologies and liturgical parts. Bottom line, the movie is not based on the Apostolic Witness. If you want to let your older Children to see it (as I did with my daughter), sit down with them and enjoy the cinematic quality but you should be able to point out all the timeline errors, outright fabrications, falsehoods and artistic license run amok. I agree with those who condemn the portrayal of the Angel Gabriel -- he looks extremely creepy and not in line with the Apostolic Witness. The movie essentially butchers the nativity story found in the gospel of Luke and Mathew. There is no Magnificat even alluded to by Mary, no shepherds in the field sung to by the angels, nothing but a hint at the Magi from the East, and there's no Gold, Frankincense and Myhr. Even the scene of the presentation of Our Lord in the temple is butchered in, as to the Torah, word and sequence. Finally, Joseph is a violent man in this movie, not even close to the "righteous" cautious man described by Luke and Mathew.
Why doesn't the title read "Pastor Mark watches the TRAILER for the Netflix movie "Mary?" I get it when the world uses clickbait, but it's a shame when Christians deceive people with click bait. The title of this video is a lie, either intentional or in ignorance. We should do better.
Mary was a big role in the scripture, And most certainly she's Jewish from the tribe of Judah, from the line of Jacob, A lot of Catholics are big on Mary, A lot of them are in error though they pray to her and ask her to pray for them Mary doesn't hear their prayers she's in the grave; Mary shouldn't be worshiped she needed GOD. As a former Catholic who Jesus saved out of that false gospel, everything about this movie creeps me out and makes me feel so convicted. Also, why does Gabriel look more like a demon than an angel? That makes it seem like part of the message in this movie plays into the atheistic trope that is that God/Jesus is evil. But then again, this flick is straight up pagan. So much false doctrine to choose from -- yikes! Remember Galatians 1, brothers and sisters! JESUS (not Mary) was the ONLY sinless person to ever live -- period. Praise our Lord Jesus Christ! ✝🙌And merry Christmas, y'all!
As with all movies, Netflix or any platform everybody needs to remember its just a movie!! This movie is so blasphemous. It take a lot of artistic liberties and adds so much stuff that is not in the bible. I could not get through even half of it do to how unsettling it was to watch. It feel very dark and demonic. If you are a new Christian or someone wanting to know more about Jesus, please open a bible and read the truth. It speaks God's words to us and will be the only true authentic source you will need to turn to daily. Talk to Jesus in prayer. He wants to have a relationship with you. I love just to talk to him out loud like he is next to me, and I am talking to my best friend. He want you to turn to him. Seek Jesus!
Hi! I don’t think what he meant was not to listen to other Christians but just to be careful where you take your doctrine and foundational beliefs from. Our ultimate authority is the Bible. And its important to be built up in our most holy faith through Biblical (not emotional) teaching and preachers who preach the Word of truth with sobreity and soundness. I hope that makes sense and I hope that you continue to be encouraged and edified in your walk with Christ!
Mother Mary is not a tool. For so many years, all virgin of Israel waited, which one of them would be the chosen one. So many come and go, come and go until Mary the daughter of Joachim and Anne. Mary was in favour of The Almighty God. His Will not ours. It’s sad that so many people say so much against Her, don’t forget it was God’s plan. If we’re not happy about it, that means we are not happy about God’s plan. What I don’t agree about this Netflix movie, it doesn’t match with Mother Mary story that already in the Bible. I understand not everything is in the Bible. But I believe the Holy Church does preserve our Holy Mother Mary side of the story. I think only Matthew and Luke excess little about Jesus when He was a boy through Mother Mary as part of her side of the story. This Netflix movie is confused about the difference between Sheperd and Magi and when these two different group pay their visits to see Jesus. Of course, we must honour her. Catholic never been told to worship her but God alone Mary pray for us sinners
I'm actually surprised at your response to this. Watching false gospel will only fill your head with false gospel. You will end up rejecting the truth. This is not a biblical movie at all.
No doubt the agenda to keep us all divided against each other, remains alive and well :' (

😂😂😂 yes in red!! Red is a very expensive clothing to have back then. So to have her wearing red is wild. She came from a poor family.
Not gonna trust Netflix on this movie
Critics and historians will have a lot to say about the movie for sure, and then we'll know one way or the other.
Right!
Netflix not a good source for any biblical stories
You are so afraid of netflix that you refuse to accept some people are eager to make a biblical movie! 🤦🏼
@@ContendformyFaithNetflix isn’t a good place for any stories they turn everything woke
God does work in mysterious ways. Perhaps a Netflix movie about a biblical story will spark someone to read the Bible and find God. All things are possible with God. God bless. ❤
To search for the truth. The movie left me wanting more and I definitely felt the spirit. And my eyes were opened to a whole new world.
Ya ❤
amen
Exactly!
This trailer screams "feminism"
Mary the Mother of Jesus is a women so it is going to be female centred film. Jesus respected his mother maybe we should too.
@@AnnaBellaChannel yeah we love mary but mary is not about feminism, go watch the movie and i think you will see it also than this movie is not scripture
It's definitely not that way. I watched it 2 days ago.
If it's not about God then it's not from God
Just watched the movie. While I applaud Netflix for producing a movie on this topic, this is a bad movie because it adds fantastical elements to the biblical story, it leaves parts out of the biblical story and it flat out gets part of the biblical story wrong.
You can tell from the trailer that there are lots of scenes that are not biblical and only based on speculation of what "may have happened." It is very difficult to make an entire movie just about Mary based on the Bible because the Bible actually has very few references to her.
By the way, "Love will save the world" is a very New Age thing to say.
"And now abideth faith, hope, charity, these three; but the greatest of these is charity."
(1 Corinthians 13:13 - KJV)
"And now abide faith, hope, love, these three; but the greatest of these is love."
(1 Corinthians 13:13 - NKJV)
"So faith, hope, love abide, these three; but the greatest of these is love."
(1 Corinthians 13:13 - Revised Standard Version Catholic Edition)
Well, Gods love will save us, through Christ, but aperently the earth must pass away, for the new earth? I could be wrong here, but their should be an end time before the ressurextion
Yes it is. Jesus will save the world, not our human idea of what love is. All biblical movies and shows take a lot of liberty to fill in the blanks and add personality and fluff to the Bible. The Bible isn’t entertainment.
Deus Caritas Est ("God IS love")
Any film or show based on the Bible will obviously have scenes not from the Bible and will be based on speculation. That’s basically almost like any movie based off any book.
I am watching the movie and in awe, that they were able to distort history so badly. I believe Mary's testimony is so precious why make such a creepy mock out of it?
Well said, Pastor Mark! God bless you and your family!!!

-And not only admired but also seen as a great inspiration 🙏✝
We are not tools. We are all destined to be a son or daughter of God!
@@ec2487 .. Mary definitely fits the definition of a tool aka something used to carry out a particular function. You're giving the word tool a negative outlook. God does and use people for this Story🙏
Overly harsh language for no reason. Scripture counts unbelievers as tools used by guides. Those who have submitted to Christ are sons and daughters.
We Catholics don't worship her. Y'all don't know anything.
Amen, let the Holy Spirit guide and explain the Scriptures.
Netflix is a completely woke company like Disney.
Then who is the Queen mentioned in Revelations 12?
Luke 1:46-49: And Mary said:
“My soul glorifies the Lord and my spirit rejoices in God my Savior, for he has been mindful
of the humble state of his servant.
From now on all generations will call me blessed, for the Mighty One has done great things for me-holy is his name.”
She's a queen whether you like it or not. The mother of the king is the queen.
The Bible cautions us to watch what we expose our "eye gates" to. I will pray to see if the Holy Spirit leads me to this program.
I probably be more comfortable if Mel Gibson was the producer. 🤔
the director described himself as catholic in an interview recently, and directed the "Book of Hosea" as a western movie "Redeeming Love."
Mariology themed movie
She is the queen of heaven and loves us very much
@@MRix732does the bible say worship Mary?
This movie is basically an inspiration from the immaculate conception which I like, I also appreciate your commentary about Mary. A lot of Christians tend to dismiss her role in the bible with Jesus' ministry for some reason. I don't think this is completely biblically based, and I will DEFINITELY be treading with caution when I watch this.. but at the very least it DOES make me want to revisit what I know about Our Lady, the Immaculate conception and the Gospels.

It will be a miracle if Netflix does not destroy the Biblical story.
I have a feeling that is their intention
Why does every bible movie have to use English actors?
Because most people watching it will be English speakers. They found Jewish actors. That's great. The whole thing does not have to be in Hebrew.
The actors are not English. Where did you get that from? There are European actors and American actors. Where did you get "English" actors from?

I miss your sermon about Esther From probably a decade ago
Any chance you still have that and could put it back online?Since?I didn't download it the first time
The one line that always stuck with me is that you said zerksies is a jerksey's
I miss this sermon series too but it was also like....a year long I think? I found some of the videos on his channel, mostly clips from one of his Esther series which is from 12 Years ago, "Jesus Is a Better King (sermon preview)" is the start of the series. Not the same one you're referencing but this was way after the original Esther series and provides even in clips some great Bible teaching.
I just wished they stuck to the Protoevangelium of James. But it was a good iteration. Nothing disrespectful.
Mary was a teenager e.g 13 yrs plus when she was with child with Jesus and Joseph was much older like 45 plus when she was married to him. Joesph was a good man who loved her.
Proof? Why do you assume Joseph was 45? That's highly unlikely.
Mary the Mother of Jesus has always been a girl boss. Yo'veu just not thought about her that way and no one disrespects Jesus's mother.
This is for people to drink milk get them in the door if they choose to drink solid food they quickly learn key gospel
I will never watch any "religous" movie netflix puts out, period!

Yeah,it’s the new Mary and the Seven Dwarves.

@ I’m o.k. with tradition as long as it doesn’t conflict with scripture.🎄⛄️
@ Indeed. Agreed. Cheers and may the blessings of our Lord be with you and yours this approaching Christmas season.
He watched the trailer, not the movie.
Why doesn't the title read "Pastor Mark watches the TRAILER for the Netflix movie "Mary?"
I get it when the world uses clickbait, but it's a shame when Christians deceive people with click bait. The title of this video is a lie, either intentional or in ignorance.

As a former Catholic who Jesus saved out of that false gospel, everything about this movie creeps me out and makes me feel so convicted. Also, why does Gabriel look more like a demon than an angel? I watched it , there was a lot of add ins. Not a fan
Mary 's mother blonde???😅
Yeah.... The musical from the Journey to Bethlehem movie was a lot better than whatever this was....
I was interested to hear, right up until you started saying don't listen to others😢
I didn’t like how they portrayed Joseph
They made it look like some handmaids tail crap
Catholic never been told to worship her but God alone
Mary pray for us sinners
I'm actually surprised at your response to this. Watching false gospel will only fill your head with false gospel. You will end up rejecting the truth. This is not a biblical movie at all. The thought of it "peaking interest then they will turn to the bible and read" that thought is the devil deceiving you. I have been there, they won't.
Very Roman Catholic vibes coming off of this clip. Mary...her birth a gift to her parents. Mary...very powerful. Hmmm...
You titled this video Pastor Mark Watches Neflix's Mary Movie. This shows you only watching the trailer. I thought I would be getting your insight for this movie based on what you know about the Bible, the truth, and what this movie portrays. I'm really disappointed. You didn't address anything about this move...except, some facts you know about the subject and... "I hope Netflix gets it right." I've watched 2 minutes of the movie and I can see it's not based on scripture. It's Hollywood being dramatic and trying to portray beautiful cinematography..
