Happy Birthday. I can’t understand why people get so upset about people modding their bikes. If you don’t want to, don’t. It’s that simple. In every comment section of change reviews there is always someone saying “if you want ‘X’ you should have bought a different bike”. That’s probably true if what you really want is a 200hp superbike, but there’s nothing wrong with smoothing out the engine at higher speeds, or anything else you want to try for that matter. I prefer to keep my bikes mostly stock, but I enjoy seeing what people are able to do with their motorcycles. I don’t even really consider sprocket changes to be a performance mod. It just changes the riding style.
Thanks on birthday wishes 🥃😁 I have been more interested in making my bike look and sound older than it is - it will never sound like an old cast iron bullet but it rides trouble free daily and been bombproof reliable 😁👍👍
Bike sounds great no matter. Happy belated Bruce ! Tack on another 12 years as of last May and I also was gifted a bottle of whisky ! Received my 1st old guy cheque this month. Maybe I'll buy another bike. 😂 Cheers.🥃
Happy birthday Bruce it was my 63 on Monday and I was out on my Meteor 350 around the borders and a pub lunch at the Victoria Arms in Norham. Have a good one
I love the way you rev it out through the gears. I do the same on my classic 500 and i think it goes all the better for it. My bike has over 10k on it and doesnt use a drop of oil either.
Happy Birthday 🎂 the bike sounds great 👍 I bought a 350 Meteor 4 weeks ago and ive done about 400 miles on it , weather permitting , love the bike , i go round where i live mainly country lanes the note that reverberates back to me is wonderful , i thought at one point there was a plane landing somewhere close to me , then relised it was the bike , gret little video . 😊
Thanks, great your enjoying your Meteor around your back roads 😁👍 i have had the same thing thinking i was getting buzzed by a plane with the echo off walls! 🤣😁👍
If anyone were qualified to give a good opinion on the gearing, it'd be you Bruce 👍 Engine sounds much slower than usual for sure, shame they don't do a 15 and a half maybe 🤪 Happy Birthday too
Happy birthday Coasty! In ma younger days I'd usually put a tooth less gearbox sprocket on ma bikes to make them easier tae lift the wheel in 2nd, but now ah'm auld the idea of a a tooth more to make the bike a bit less buzzy at the speeds ah cruise at appeals to me more. Part and parcel of gettin auld ah suppose.
Happy Birthday! Its worth noting that the indicated speed may have altered too. I put an extra tooth on my honda 125 to try and stop it screaming its nuts off at 55, which it did but it also changed the speedo reading. It used to run about 3 mph faster than gps speed, now with the extra tooth it runs about 1 mph slower than gps. Its probably no bother to you up there, doesn't look like there is too many camera vans... different story down here.
Thanks Ashley, we have speed aware coming into some villages but they don’t book you just show your speed and slow down most folk ignore them now in the 20mph zones we have had over a year now 🤣😁 I noticed some of them are not that accurate when in cars, but good point you make about the change to speedometer that may happen 👍😁
Warhorse is holding speed well with 16T. Sounds great too. The weather been so changeable 😢. I got so burnt at Powmill, on Sunday past. Top of need, forehead and nose, are red raw and sore. It’s affected my right eye. Which has been semi closed and weeping since Monday. ( am just an ole bugger now…lol)😂 Keep up the good work.
Mark, as you, me and Ferg where sitting in Bridge of Earn on Sunday I was regretting not having a hat to cover my head. On Monday morning there was a loud knocking on the door, a fat guy in a red suit was shouting "rudolph, get yerself home I could see the glow of that nose from the North Pole!" Geez I was red, my nose is peeling now, lesson learnt, carry factor 50 and a hat. Hope yours clears up soon.
Another wonderful video, thank you. I love the bush fence lines, but do you every worry about animals jumping out in front of you? It seems like you wouldn't have much time to react.
Hi, yes i tend to sit out 2 3rds on my side as the odd Roe Deer or Hare can indeed run out, another reason this bike is fast enough for country roads 😁👍
Many happy returns Bruce, enjoy your whiskey 🥃. I bought the Kent cam but have decided not to fit it. To me, the bike is in the sweet spot where it is, a subtle alteration to power delivery, gearing etc will just change the character. I was lucky enough to recently buy a Moto Guzzi V7 so if I want faster or more power it’s there, designed into that bike.
Thanks 🥃😁 Your line of thinking i totally get and i will be doing my 2 year review film soon and will mention is it worth spending an extra £800 on extras for same top speed etc, folk should find it interesting when you think what else you can buy or where you could go on £800 😁
Happy birthday young man 🎉 many more to come i am sure. Just a question about the speed limiter on the Enfield? Is it speed related or revs? Back in the day when we had a bike wouldn't pull top we put larger rear sprocket on to give it a fighting chance, obviously it increases acceleration in lower Gears and increasing fuel consumption but being young and feeling invincible we didn't care. All that matters at the end of the day is that you are happy with your motorcycle. Having lived in the two stroke era 70s owning many kawasaki, suzuki and yamaha adjustable clip ons and rearsets were derigour then fairings if you had better paid job. One of my favourites was an early RD 350lc raced tuned by stan Stephens i owned it for 3 years 17mpg no matter how you rode it. The legendary flat spot between 3-5000 rpm was made worse but omg when you kept it on the pipe it would wheelie at 70mph under hard acceleration it was geared for 120mph Happy days. My friends on moving up to kawasaki 1000 and gs 750 ect thought they would annihilate my little 350lc how wrong they were, i could stop faster corner faster. Keep up the vlogs if you can i know its hard to find time editing etc and we truly appreciate it when you can. Take care all the best Rod and Jan
Thanks for birthday wishes! 😁 the J series has a rev limiter on every gear and approx 73mph top speed limiter, you feel it cut in and out if nailing it, the gear ratio makes it impossible to hit the rev limiter in 5th which makes that noise when on it, like constant misfire, My friend had a Stan Stevens stage 2 tuned Lc350 it was nuts! It needed a few rebuilds i remember and thirsty on fuel but what a noise on Allspeed pipes! 😜👍👍👍
@@Coastriderscotlandlol oh yes new pistons twice a year was average in the end was running modified TZ pistons rattled like pit lane racer but extended pistons life, as you say complete hooligan tool..thanks for info on limiter seems very sophisticated. Ride safe
Happy birthday, Bruce. Slainte Mhath. With the different sprocket, is there much difference when you pull away in first from a standstill? Especially uphill.
Thank you 🥃😁 The bike pulls ok higher geared with i think the air box mods being the most noticeable in low end pull 😁👍 be good to go back up to Applecross etc and see how it pulls there 😁
Many happy returns 🎉 🎂. The bike sounds good, more relaxed, more elastic, if you see what I mean. I’m thinking of raising the gearing a bit on my 350 (standard, no mods) what’s it like in 5th?
Thanks 🥃😁 5th gear is ok on flat or tail wind/ down hill and real lazy so you need to drop to 4th to overtake etc But it does kind if suit the Classics relaxed character
Happy Birthday Bruce. Enjoy a dram tonight. Bike seems alot better with the extra tooth. Be fitting my one this weekend. What gloves were you wearing, design on top looks like what ghost protection gear use.
Hi Phil thank you 😁🥃🥃 My summer gloves are Revvit! And i really like them here is a link; www.sportsbikeshop.co.uk/motorcycle_parts/content_prod/568623
At 6min 40...just a question? Do you leave the junction and accelerate and only use 4 gears.... not getting why... surely more relaxed will be slipping into 5th..using it as a 4 speed isn't making it sound relaxed to me , but maybe it's the video that is making it sound like that.... Good to see though
Think its the video sound maybe? On tight winding roads i often now ride in 4th if only up to 40mph with the taller gearing, with less gear changes that’s a bit more relaxing 😁👍

One thing I like about watching your rides on the 350 is you don't baby it. It's nice to see how it goes when you work it a bit 😂.
Thanks David, these engines look and sound classic but can be opened up and take it no problem!, still never had to top up oil between services 😁👍
