  • When a local viewer saw something in the middle of a sidewalk about a block from Allegiant Stadium that would make it impossible for some people to pass, he asked, "Darcy, what's the deal?"

……the placement of this hydrant exemplifies the lack of education by MANY people in the Las Vegas valley.

      Wrong
Nevada proudly ranks 49th out of 50th in education😂😂😂

Ya'll got stats on how many wheelchairs speed through this hydrant on a daily basis?
And wouldn't just be easier to built a little sidewalk around it going inside the property line by couple of feet? I'm sure the city can afford to pay for a few feet with all that money they made from F1.

Did the ADA rules exist before or after that fire hydrant was put in??

some of the idiots at planning commission spend huge amounts of $$ on needless things while ignoring the smaller basic items that make everyday life easier for people.

When the building is on fire, you will miss that hydrant.

While they're at it, perhaps they'll update the hydrants to that new version?

Bollards should have never been installed in the right of way.

It did have ADA clearance before the bollards were put in

Good catch. Why not just move the bollard inward another 10"?

Probably just repainted along with the hydrant 20 years ago

    So where do I begin?
On the opposite site you can clearly see there's more than one way to enter that parking lot next to it. A small detour won't hurt a wheelchair operator.
As for "barely" able to walk next to it without stepping out, dude. Really ? You'll have to have some pretty wide hips to say anything.
As for the leaking. Check seal and done.
Y'all remind me of north Koreans and chinos. Y'all wanna get micromanaged....

The News patting themselves on the back like they are heroes. What they specifically don't show you is that you can easily use the parking lot to go around if you have to and no handicapped person in history has let that hydrant stop them from going to the stadium. But good job maybe we can put a plaque up with this lady's name on it so she can drive by and point out to her family the positive impact she has had on the community. She did have to make a few phone calls and get down on one knee for the closing shot. What you think people should do this out of kindness or maybe we should just let handicapped people who run into problems call them in and we fix the ones that are actually a problem first or something? Where's the photo opt in that? Tune in next week when we get a fire hydrant removed for being a traffic hazard after it was found out it was the favorite of every dog in the Neiborhood. But first buy stuff from our sponsors.
