This playlist and Psydub in general is amazing!!! It's great to know that this music has grown and flourished. Some may not know but Bill Laswell was a big part of pioneering music like this. Back in 1993, Nicky Skopelitis released an album called "Extasis" Bill Laswell produced it and when he wasn't playing bass, he had Jah Wobble on the bass. This album might give you some insight into where the roots of Psydub come from. I've seen other artists sighted for pioneering this sub genre but Bill Laswell was pure fusion of dub, world, rock and jazz into an ambient vibe.
That's awesome to hear Ken. I was into a lot of his work that he did with Pete Namlook back in the day as well as the Dub Chamber releases. His influence is as immeasurable as his catalogue is vast. A real deep rabbit hole for appreciative ears.
I remember, back in the 70s, owning 12" singles by Bill Laswell's band 'Material'. I don't think many were pressed. Still fewer coming here to the UK. Wish I had them now! This is a terrific mix.
