My memory is terrible ..few things I remember..but I remember my Uncle Eddie playing this album..and hiring this song was like Wow!! I never forgot his name or the name of the band and never forgot this song..Thank you..Rest in Peace.
This is still the Baddest Cut Going on after all these years.... Donald Smith sings like he is out of HEAVEN SENT..... YOU Can feel Gods Hand on this ONE.....Go on Cosmic Echoes....!
The memories behind this cut....ah man. Lonnie's brother doing the vocals. And his range is unbelievable. Seen him live back in 1985 but Howard Rumsey's Concerts by the Sea and Redondo Beach. He put me in the audience in a trance with this song. And with all due respect to Lonnie and this particular song, I could only think of one female artist that could pull this one off, and that would be the late great Teena Marie in her untouchable style. May she rest in peace. God, to see him one more time would be such a blessing. Thank you for all that you have done for music Lonnie! Love and respect to you my brother. ❤️🎵❤️🎶❤️🎼
Hi Damon & Happy Holidays. Had to hear me some Starlight & You. Still got my LP & I heard it also in my Teen years-my brother played it at my Sweet 16 party & I was hooked since. I had the suburban, Westchester County NY grooming for Jazz
My theme song for the early morn. The music I first get to play on my 64th Birthday.Hip Hip Hooray!Music is such a wonderful gift.Thank you Lonnie Liston Smith
Joyce, Happy Holidays & I feel you soooo much. They would have had to pick me up if I was there with you. I'm melting here in my rocking chair now. Such a masterpiece of a song & will never grow old in class & style.
Simply a beautiful expression of both spirit and love...
