Kate was phenomenal in this role! Seriously. I grew up not far from that area. The best series I have seen in years! What a dysfunctional town. There was really no sad crime omitted. Dysfunctional families, murder, drug addiction, suicide, physical abuse, abduction, kidnapping, rape, incest, priest pedophilia, planting evidence, PTSD.....why did I like this??? LOL! This explains the weariness, emotional trauma of life's oppression on the lead character, Mare. Emmy! Emmy! The entire cast was terrific! Love Jean Smart! Love Julianne Nicholson! BTW- Kate, HBOMAX crashed during the start of the finale episode. HBO did not crash for the finale episode of Game of Thrones! ; )
What a powerful series this was, full of twists and turns, and with some chuckles thrown in, supremely acted by all the actors, but Kate just shined here, what an amazing performance, that I really didn't want it to end. I did shed some tears at finale, yes. Well produced, supreme stuff. On another note, I would like to thank Kate for donating that money to one of my compatriots, which just goes to show what a sweetheart and lovely person she really is, but at the same time, I'm disgusted that she had to do so, instead of those who should have done it. Wow. Kate looking gorgeous! Kate has always exhibited such strength of character as an actress and it's that strength and determination that is the core of Mare. She was such a compelling character because you always knew she would harness and exercise that strength in service to others, to advocate for those weakened by circumstance. I think one of the most moving and tragic things about the finale is that ultimately it wasn't about a serial killer, it was about a young boy who acted out because he felt threatened that he would lose his family and the death itself was accidental, a consequence of his parents' dysfunction. It's what makes the series so rewatchable because knowing the outcome brings all of the other characters' motives and intentions into focus, and their struggle to find love or maintain a sense of personal security for themselves or their family is a primal objective of life itself.
Yeah, the interviewer wasn't very good at all, it was like she was only half-listening to what Kate was saying. I'm so glad I'm not the only one who thought so! lol
I enjoyed this interview so much ...i have heard it a few times ... this series was fantastic in every aspect. kate Winslet is a legend and the most talented actress around . this interview shows kate to be so committed and hard working ,yet still so humble ,grounded and very articulate in her explaining her behind the scenes role as an actor and producer , no wonder she won so many nominations throughout her career , she truly deserves it all .love her ❤️

Mare of Easttown gave me goosebumps! In fact, I just subscribed HBO to watch it and it was an amazing experience! As for Kate, she delivers amazing performances in every part she plays because she takes the risk SHE is the character and that's one of the most important qualities for an actor.
I was completely blown away by Kate Winslet from the opening scene of the first episode and then throughout the entire series. My husband and I became semi-obsessed and couldn’t wait to tune in from one week to the next. I spent waaayyyy to much time trying to come up with different whodunnits than I care to admit. None came to fruition but I had lots of fun trying. Congratulations to the entire cast and crew on a gigantic JOB WELL DONE. I’m so sad it’s over😂❤️

Interviews with celebs live are way more interesting than the ones on tv. Half the interviews done on tv have someone in the background telling the person to say it differently and they are told what to say but they edit it out. I'm sure they still have some agreement here on what they Will talk about but it doesn't feel so planned out. And it's cool to see celebs In there homes like normal people. Not all dressed up with heavy makeup . With distractions with kids or family at times. There's just something about it thats better than pre filmed. This the one good thing that covid gave us. Way more lives. And from celebs that don't normally do them.
