This kind of video saves so much hassle. Washers fell out and I had no idea what to do. Figured I’d RUclips check it and this video was spot on. Liked and subscribed, thanks.
Maaaan I just got a bike from a guy saying he changed the clutch and all this stuff. So I took a look and no washers at all on that gear. I was trying to get the crank case cover back on and can't so I was checking videos and found this...getting those washers before I reassemble. This saved me!!
Thanks for the vid. Even though my goal is to change the cam chain guide and shoe(which there exist not one single video of the entire internet) your video was the closest thing to helping me out😂😂 seriously, thank God for you
There is no need to drain oil when removing this cover. During stand oil level is below covers. Anyway thank you for video. I have leakage through sensor gasket and your video helped alot. I would also not push cover on the thread of oil filling plug. On the outline of cover there are special places with allowance where you can push cover off with screwdriver or piece of wood. And one more thing just unplug socket of sensor which is ubder side fairing not under tank and take off cover and put on table. You can easily clean it and put sealant on before instaling it back...
That exact washer fell in that exact place when i took it off.I bent a magnet rod and got it out.Went crazy about it.Glad it didnt just happen to me.Thanks bud, tour vid was great
SnowDrift I Mirror that statement as well. Like Edison said when they asked how it felt to fail 137 times before figuring out that tungsten was the correct material for light bulb filaments, “I didn’t fail 137 times, I learned 137 ways not to make a light bulb.”
My oil on my bike was over full and I see now RUclips video where do took like a the top of a hand sanitizer pump part and pumped out the excess oil I thought it was a fantastic idea till the straw of the pump fell off into the case! Can't see it to fish out you think I need to take off the clutch case or just let it get chew up and change the oil
Full Metal Heli that doesn’t sound like a great idea, the plastic can clog up your oil passages and cause issues with oil flow, can even cause spun bearings. Definitely do the work to get it out before starting the bike.
I had my washer fall Into oil pan I got a magnetic on a stick. Bent the stick and was able to extend it and was able to retrieve washer. Very simple and I didn't have to pull oil pan
You need to shine a light on where you are working buddy, can’t see what you are working on. Apart from that, great job mate, learn by others mistakes. Keep up the good work but use a light on your workspace please👍🏻
I’m not sure man but I don’t see why it wouldn’t be. As long as the triggers are the same it shouldn’t matter because a crank position sensor is just a glorified magnet.
@@yuberispiron308 I pulled the cover off originally to fix an oil leak. The washer fell into the oil pan from the Clutch cavity. I had a cruise I had to be at so I reinstalled everything and rode. When I got back home I made this video.
I’m working on my friends bike and don’t think this has ever been removed. Should I use a heat gun to loosen the seal between the cover and casing? Or would the way with the flathead be fine and just have to use more force? I can tell someone has messed with it because most of the bolts were already lose.
Jonathan Hall in my experience heat is never a bad idea to help persuade things. If it does have the original Honda sealant then it will be very difficult to remove.
i removed it because it was leaking from when the timing chain and guides were replaced, i was resealing it to stop the leak and thats when the washer for the starter gear bendix fell off and into the oil pan.
hello sir I want to have how to test the cdi of the motorcycle cb 1000r Honda ABS *** year motorcycle 2014 because I have more sparks in the boujie and how to test the sensor also thank you I am Tunisian
2006 CBR1000rr, its all over the channel. no real way to prevent it. just have to take it off slowly. I also filmed this in January of 2017 so my memory of the situation isn't exactly fresh.
There’s no full proof way. But I have had success with loosening all the bolts for the cover and tapping the general area where the washer is with a rubber mallet before pulling the cover off.
@@SnowDrift cool. I’m going to reseal my ‘07 today. Noticed some oil seeping and I don’t want it to get worse. The prior owner smeared some grey rtv in that general area in front of the pulse sensor grommet so I’m crossing my fingers that it’s not hiding any damage. Will report back with my findings!
@@SnowDrift so I got the cover off and back on without dropping anything in the oil pan. It took me a long time to get the two shafts to line up; the RTV began to skin over by the time I got it together. I hope that doesn’t cause any issues
07 CBR1000RR..from everybody to RUclips videos I’ve been watching ((07CBR1000RR noise in motor)) saying it’s the can chain tensioner, day it’s making that noise cause of slack. Then I heard it could be the cams heads..well my first motor ((not in the bike that we’re talking)) acted the same but it turn the motor off, not saying my lights turn off. Started it, then running...then something was in between something made a noise, so we turn it off. Long story short, I took that first motor n open top, bottom, side covers, exhaust, spark plugs, starter motor, and water pump to see if anything got caught or stuck but couldn’t see nothing wrong.
Giovanni Merino sounds like you could have had a spun rod bearing, not likely but possible, does the noise get louder or faster the higher the RPMs go?
Giovanni Merino I would definitely check the cam chain tensioner, I will upload a video of what to do this weekend for you, I hope it helps. I’m sorry to hear you are having trouble
This guy coming up CLUTCH 😂😂 good lookin out on this i was literally just messing with that washer
Awesome that my old videos are still helping people.

I am really thankful that this video is uploaded 🙏thank you .
So glad it could help you.
If you spin the starting cluth will it mess up engine timing? I had to move mine a little to fit the gear back in and now my bike doesnt start
that should have nothing to do with the timing. does the engine turn over?
👍thanks for the tip on getting the cover off! Didn’t wanna try it until i seen you doing it in this video thanks again and great video

So what is the trick to not lose the magic washers? Im not seeing it
no trick to making it stay on really. just have to be slow and gentle like with your girlfriend.
What the bike was doing when the washer fell off??
I don’t understand the question
@@SnowDrift I asked if you put cover on when you forgot to put washer, and if the bike made any noise or anything?

SnowDrift another question. The bike isn’t wanting to stay started. It will start with influence but won’t stay on. Any ideas to check first?
Jonathan Hall I need more information. When was the last time the bike started and ran as normal?
Hey bro so why did u remove the cover? Did u change ur clutch pack?
i removed it because it was leaking from when the timing chain and guides were replaced, i was resealing it to stop the leak and thats when the washer for the starter gear bendix fell off and into the oil pan.
It’s an inspection window but you use it to turn the engine over without the starter it’s like a 20 mm I think
Great video!
Didn’t even know about the second washer. Huge help, great video
Mr.Elwir glad the video could help you out.
What did you use to seal the rubber piece on your position sensor to the clutch cover?
Richard Ricau the same ultra black sealant that I used for the cover itself, it’s been on there for over a year and I’ve had no issues.
SnowDrift alright cool. I just installed my cover, waiting on it to dry. I’ll put some oil in it tomorrow.
Richard Ricau word, good to hear man
