Should of gone east not west...98% of the homeless are in east London. As a londoner for 42 years of my 48 years it's sad to see downtown as bad as it is remember galleria mall Eatons it used to be so great old Covent garden market dave London ontario Canada ❤ 🇨🇦
I'll go back further.... Ready for a timewarp? Simpsons, Seaguls shoes, Kingsmills. But yeah, Eatons and the galleria with movie theater was great. Market Pet Shop.... With Mac the parrot. A donut shop that made the absolute best massive apple fritters on Saturday mornings. This might be going back to the early 80s. It felt fun and safe..... Such a shame that department stores, Simpsons, Eatons, Sears took a nose dive.
LOL Just yesterday I bailed on something I needed to do downtown. It took an extra 20 minutes to get around the construction and the only place to park was around hordes of homeless people so I had to bail. London SUCKS!
This was taken back in 2021 during the pandemic if I read the date right not many people out and about yet most of the taping was taken on Dundas but near Budweiser Gardens alot of businesses closed down over that period. The person, as mentioned, didn't go down to East of Adelaide Street and just before it . Since this was taped, businesses have opened up East End of Dundas Street have been revitalized, but the homeless problem is still a huge issue as of 2024 it's a shame with a country of our size and a population of around 42 million.
I am from London originally. It is such a shame what London has turned into! It used to be a safe haven for families and students, yet it is now overrun by the homeless.
It's a different place there these days. I visited friends there awhile back and I couldn't believe the number of homeless. It's disconcerting as well, because some will literally make a straight line to your car and beg for help. I admit that I lock my doors. They look angry and distraught at the same time. Understandable and London needs to make more social housing, or reopen the old psychiatric ward in Saint Thomas. Having these homeless on just about every single major intersection in London was a shocker and not at all, the London I remember. Simpsons, Seaguls shoes, Kingsmills..... To what? Fanshawe campuses..... Downton London used to be attractive....
I’ve lived downtown on Dundas right across from the music hall since 2016, it’s crazy to see how much it’s declines in such short of a time. Most of the homeless are friendly humans just trying to survive. I once had a 15yr old ask if I wanted any meth tho, that was sad and fucked at the same time. I constantly am walking over bodies trying to get in my front door too. The first time I finally ordered food delivery , I came outside to a guy bleeding from The neck after being stabbed. Ive seen people fingering their own assholes screaming to get the demons out. I have a treasure chest of videos from outside my kitchen window of the most wildest shit humans are capable of.
I'm living in London for almost 5 years. The last 2 years is a disaster - covid lockdown and unemployment and high housing price forced many onto the streets. It's a beautiful city - city has to do better handling homeless people.
This is a great video and thank you for making it. I am in London about twice a year and I always tell certain homeless people that they can utulize free trains that go to Toronto and Windsor.
Always keep your windows up travelling downtown. That was crazy hearing hearing some regular guy get stabbed on Oxford and Piccadilly while waiting for train to pass. Than homeless person got on the bus stole it and rammed into White Oaks Mall.
should make one of Dundas and Adalaide thats where it really is. cant even walk with your kids without having to worry about weather or not they are going to inhale junkie fumes or homeless people are all over the side walk its not B.C but its gotten bad over the years
You must have been there when they were eating. This is 75 percent better than usual. The market downtown has homeless people in the bathrooms. On Adelaide and Queens there are tons of homeless and Dundas art district is teaming with homeless. You have to careful when driving , they just walk in front of cars. I have seen them passed right out at Tim Hortons, the police station, churches. It’s no fun for our kids
Dundas st East, Wellington and Hamilton road... Richmond Row is students.... I Have been in London for 33 yrs, it's a shithole. It's bad, 8f and when I am able to....see ya....
I am somewhat one of those people that are somewhat fearful of going downtown London Ontario. But what annoys me the most or a better word to use pisses me off the most anywhere from the area of Budweiser gardens all the way eastbound on Dundas east of Adelaide I get hit up for money or cigarettes anywhere between 8 to 12 times a day or I should say when I do go downtown. That’s what annoys me. One of the things that annoys me I should say. And a lot of these panhandlers are very young between the ages of 25 and 30 that appear to have absolutely nothing physically or mentally wrong with them. But no matter what sad situation all around for London Ontario
It's definitely uncomfortable when multiple people ask you for money on the street. Makes you feel unsafe at times and more or less, want to avoid the area
There’s no nicer urban areas really. Nicer neighborhoods maybe but in terms of somewhere where you can go and do stuff in pretty much everywhere has the same problems with homelessness and drugs.
Westmount area is nice lived here for 3yrs not a single problem. I go for daily walks or jogs along walking trails it beautiful everyone always says hi or good morning or does some acknowledgement. Makes me feel better about living in this city.
For someone who has lived in this city for 65 years I watch this and can't believe the state of downtown...all the money spent on Dundas Street for what???!! To look pretty? This is unbelievable. Our city went to hell after the closing of Wellington Square Mall..this is embarrassing.
this is what now 3years ago now over 3years its gotten worse , Like a derelict empty except fpr bums, shit pee puke and trash and people doing drugs or selling drugs or begging and sleeping drugged out in doorways and it stinks !
You were filming on a good day its gotten so much worse as of September 2024. The number of homeless you seen in this video multiply that by maybe 4 or 5 and that's what its like walking the same exact paths you walked.😢
So I have to ask..what was the point of taking pics and video of random homeless people? It kinda comes across as shaming them. I'd just like to mention that you walked by 2 people who I know, and they are homeless but weren't sitting on the ground or standing around so you walked right by. No one wants to be homeless. I hope on your way out of London you stopped and made a donation at one of the many places that helps them.
I asked them if it was ok to film and they said yes and trust me I know them 2 iv been homeless and in and out of jail most of my life I also buy them food and more I'm not making any money off them and it cost me money to make the video and iv never got one dollar and I was born in London
I wasn't trying to come across as a b*tch. I'm very grateful that you exposed the issue in the right way. Bless you for buying them food as well. I've also been homeless and too many people look the other way or say get a job. My son just moved to London and it breaks my heart to see what it's become in the years since I lived there. Hit me up if you ever want someone to go with you to hand out food or other stuff. have a great night.
