I watched the Nuggets game last night and it doesn't look good for the celtics. Tatum could never hit a clutch shot like that.
It's most likely to be Denver and Boston in the finals as they are both the most well constructed and talented teams and this is coming from an OKC Thunder fan. They both play solid basketball and are very well coached also.
The Celtics shall WIN IT ALL! They need to continue playing team ball! They need to stay consistent playing the right way! Defend and have curve balls.

Until someone demonstrates that they can stop Jokic from doing whatever he wants, I got the Nuggets.
The Celtics are the only team with the prototype to do it imo. Everyone else it’ll require more luck than execution to win (Denver misses shots, injury, or you shoot 50% from 3 for a whole series like Miami did to teams last year)
You have to gaurd Jokic 1 on 1, you can’t double. What he wants to do is pass, so that’s what you have to prevent. If he scores 40 or more in a game, you’re actually statistically more likely to win than if he scores less than 40 because that means he’s trying to carry the offense because people aren’t getting open.
The Celtics have all the individual defenders necessary to be able to do this, and their offense is so loaded that they should be capable of not only keeping up with Denver, but putting up a huge lead on them if Denver struggles on offense.
Do I think they’ll do it? Idk. Denver and specifically Jokic have the “it”factor where you know they’re gonna show up every night. Idk if I can say the same about Boston, however on paper Boston is just as hard to guard as Denver is. Idk if Denver has a better defense than Boston.

Well last year we shot abysmal from the field, Rob Williams and brogdon were hurt, jaylen brown was on a bum hamstring, and we still only lost due to an injury to Tatum at the start of game 7.
So add in a healthy JB, but also add in KP and Jrue in place of Smart 😂 different team, different roster, different style of play.

Porzingas led the league in points on postups. Tatum, Brown, Holiday, and White post up smaller players. just lazy commentary.

"How are they going to respond in games when the 3's aren't falling?" is definitely the biggest question for the Celtics in this playoff run. That is the one thing that scares me the most about them (as a Celtics fan), but all they have to do is get to the freaking paint. Tatum and Brown are All-Stars & are great at generating points in the paint/shooting the mid-range jumper, Porzingus is freaking 7'3", can score down low/shoot anywhere on the court, Derrick White is pretty damn good at getting to the rim/shooting the mid-ranger as well, and Jrue Holiday is no freaking stiff offensively either as the 5th option. When the 3's aren't falling, the Celtics have more than enough talent to make it work down low/score some 2-point jump shots. It's just a matter of making that in-game adjustment instead of ride-or-dying on the 3's that could end up costing them a title. But this team has been very good, and I'm confident they learned some lessons from last year and make those in-game adjustments this go-round. At least I hope they did 😂😂
Denver is just as good if not better. They will be a tough matchup for Boston.
Yeah I'm worried about the Nuggets too. The thing is, I'd be shocked if the Celtics don't come out of the east. The Nuggets might lose in the west. The T-wolves or Clippers (if Kawhi returns) might well take care of them.
Having a real MVP candidate helps.

Players more deserving of MVP this season over Tatum (in no order):
Luka, Jokic, Ant Edwards, Brunson, SGA.
The biggest gripe with the “if they don’t shoot well from 3 they can be beat” argument is, yeah…name me one team in the history of basketball that has a better chance of winning if their 3’s aren’t falling? Obviously the Celtics can be beat if they don’t shoot well, the same came before said for every single other team in the history of the game 😂
I'm shocked that I actually agree with Shaq here. Its feels like for the last 5+ years, the Celtics have lived and died by the 3. The only thing that separates them this year from previous years is that they have a much better defense, an elite defense really.
JB can go to the basket and post up. JT can go to the basket and post up. Holiday can go to the basket and post up. And they now have the most efficient post up player in the leauge in Porzingis.
And still people are absolutetly convinced that this team will not win "when the threes stop falling".
We just have to wait and see it seems.
Boston are the best team and should cruise through this year's weak East. I think only Denver can likely challenge them, but I'd still say Celtics in 6 with their superior depth.

@@timgimmy609 yeah it’s a problem when Marcus Smart and Grant Williams are taking the 3’s. The Celtics have 5 guys that shoot 40% or better from 3 and outside of Jaylen no one shoots worse than 37%. Celtics went from having a bench that couldn’t score to a bench that can bomb 6 3’s in 2 minutes and open the game up to a 20 point lead.
Last year there were multiple stretches in the regular season where no one on the Celtics could hit a 3. They haven’t even come close to doing that this year. The odd game here or there where the 3’s don’t fall but the next game they shoot 50% collectively. You simply can not guard everyone on this team someone is going to be open for 3 and if they’re open these guys are gonna hit them

As a Celtics fan I feel Denver’s tandem of Jokic and Murray is better than Tatum and Brown. That said, Boston is deeper with the remaining starters and bench. Mazzulla needs to make sure close games don’t come down to Tatum or Brown dribbling 20 times in isolation before heaving up a last second shot. Denver would have the advantage in a tight game as Jokic seems to always make the right decision. No guaranty either or both teams make the finals but would love to see it happen.

Any one team is much less likely to win the chip than "the field". Especially in a year like this when 6-8 teams are seen to have a good to outside (but realistic) chance to win it.
Shaw’s comments are based on teams from previous years. Celtics shoot and make a lot of 3s because they have good to great shooters. But their offense is based on ball movement that leads to wide open 3s. But they score in a variety of ways. No weaknesses

NBA Championship not World Chuck... America has better individual players for especially for exhibitions (Olympics for example) which highlight Individual talent more than teamwork bc most of the players there have never played together and the coaches havent coached them as a team before, but Euro has better teams bc of teamwork with developed chemistry and better fundamentals. Lakers 2010 Champs lost to a Euro team (Spain? I forget) by 4 points, beating them by 4 a few years prior. Similar cases with the Mavs 2013 and Duncan's Spurs losing as well..
