This makes me remember when I was in my youth...let’s say 6-12 grade when I would listen to the radio all of the time (Casey Kasem), watch Solid Gold on Saturday nights, buy music magazines, and buy a magazine called Song Hits that contained lyrics to popular songs. Mind you, this was all during the 80s, an amazing time for genuine talent and music. I’m also a 70s music fan. I have three significantly older siblings who left behind their 45s, LPs, and 8-tracks which I discovered in the basement. One of my favorites to come from that is The Doobie Brothers. Paul Davis is very talented and was a part of many successful musical endeavors. I like to research artists and groups, as I always find surprises. I recently found out that Bruce Springsteen wrote Fire by The Pointer Sisters 😮😊

I remember this song came out when I was 14. I would hear it on Casey Kasem's American Top 40 radio show. It turns out that it peaked at #6 on the Hot 100 so it was his biggest pop hit. The song reminds me of being young and wanting the world to be caring and inclusive. A guy can dream can't he! 😆

One of the most important songs ever written. Energy and fantastic musicianship throughout. Paul was a fantastic song writer and had about 10 Top 40 Hits including Bop that he wrote for Dan Seals and songs for Tanya Tucker. Cool Night, Do Right, Sweet Life, I Go Crazy, Love or Let Me Be Lonely, 65 Love Affair, I Don't Wanna Be Just Another Love In Your Heart, Bop. Doesn't get much better...

I was 11 years old. My softball team went to state finals… I was just along for the ride. So fun…after the softball game they took us to the waterslide park. I don’t even remember what we placed in the tournament. My grandfather died… all a blurr. However this song brings me back to this time❤️ thank you for covering this.

OMG!!! Back in the 80s, that genre of music is THE BEST!!! That music made anyone feel fantastic. You got up to dance -- even if you didn't know how to dance.
My mom ( RIP ) and I used to dance to this song, and so many other songs. I really, really, really wish I had more time with my mom. I miss dancing with her.
I've got tears in my eyes remembering just how much fun I had with my mom. I know that one day, I'll meet her again, but that doesn't mean that I cannot be selfish and want her back.
This, and so many other songs, is a feel great song!!

This song is his more upbeat song, he is more known for his love & sad songs like ''Sweet Life'', ''Cool Night'' and ''Do right''but I love Paul's song ''I go Crazy'' it always gives me a sense of melancholy, most of us have someone who we 'still go crazy' over, The heart and mind can never forget a romance that unfortunately fizzled out. Even years later it can bring back vivid and profound bittersweet memories.''I go crazy''is that song for me

Was 15 years old in 1965, junior high school. Song reminds me of a couple of girls i had "a crush" on, and good times with the family and my neighborhood pals. There was also lots of political & social unrest during the sixties and i was coming of age to pick up on this and participate in some of those activities. Music was great, whether you were a Motown fan or a British music fan. Paul Davis's 65 Love Affair brings back some great memories of the fun of that time!

My thing about music is being 61 years old and growing up in a very abusive home I would love to sit in my room and listen to music all day because music was a healing process for me, it could take me to a happy place or anywhere I needed to good to survive. In the 60s and 70's so much music was positive and happy. My way of dealing with my childhood was God first and then music.

You hit a bullseye with the feel-good tempo and harmonies. I was 11 and a half when this song came out...not quite into the teenage years, and basically a favorite target of bullies (forgiven, now...in fact, one of them has been helping my mom with some electrical odd jobs, along with my brother-in-law, my talents are more along the analysis spectrum). When this song came on the radio, I just felt better about everything, and it STILL makes me wanna sing along😀

The song was originally titled "55 Love Affair", but his label (Arista) made him change it to appeal to the baby boomer demographic. Davis changed ONLY the title, and kept the rest of the song intact. That experience of record company interference caused Davis to sour on this song, and thus this was his only album for Arista.

This song, came out when I was in my teens, however, it reference a time when I was a baby. To me, songs like this tend to temporalize themselves which makes a person think back with nostalgia, or indifferent if they weren't around at the referenced time frame. For me, it's a neat song that harkens back to a gist of the time of MY life, which was much later. I can associate with it, but not the mentioned time frame. I think any guy can relate to some girl who made him jump through hoops, to get her attention.
This song is a nostalgia song, not really a love song, so it wasn't high on my list of songs to play with my then girlfriends. It makes you think back, not the here and now.
