I was on New Faces about 1974/75. Aiden J Harvey and Tam White were on the same show. Aiden J Harvey went on to win the series. Judges were Mickie Most, Tony Hatch, Arthur Askey. Would love to see if there is a recording of the show. I was a young Australian female vocalist named Diana Dalton. Any help?
Does anyone have any footage on 26th Feb 1977, series 5 episode 25? My dad who has recently passed was on the show in a band called heritage - Ken butler. I would love to get my hands on this 🙏
Wheeltappers & Shunters and The Comedians have survived the march of time, but New Faces most definitely hasn't. It's exactly as I remember it. End of pier meets provincial club circuit on a drab Sunday early evening.
Marcel King. He released a single on Factory Records in 1984 called Reach for Love in conjunction with Bernard Sumner from New Order, which he wrote. He sadly died in 1995 aged 38.
@@michaelreid4140 Correct Michael,,, Marcel was my cousin, he grew up in Whalley Range Manchester, we were so close growing up, I never tire of playing this song or his other hit from early 75,, purely by coincidence ,,
I'd forgotten how good Sweet Sensation were, and how excruciatingly bad and unfunny Lenny Henry was. He must have planned to end on a high note, but he even managed to suck the wit and charm out of George Formby. I suppose it's a gift.
Lenny has Just put out his Autobiography. This whole BLACKFACE Justin Truadeau shit........ Lenny was on stage and he said he is the BLACK Justin Trueadeau. Give him a break. Imagine been a Black Comedian back in the Day. CHRIS ROCK has it easy
I agree. I'm reading his autobiography. I respect Lenny and glad he has made a career out of performing but he's never said a single thing I've found funny. 🤔
Good Question! I find him very unfunny ...Now He's strutting around Like some great actor , which he isn't and don't get me started on fucking Red Nose Day Appeal shows...
Sweet sensation - Marcel King on lead voices - What a VOICE Wow!
Was later signed to Factory Records too, how mad is that?
Lâu lắm rồi mới được nghe lại bài này. Hay lắm ạ 😘
New Faces 73-78, the ITV talent show hosted by Derek Hobson. It had Lenny Henry, the late Marti Caine and Les Dennis.
ooh wow wow ooh wow wow ooh! Love you Marcel!
Sweet Sensation-superb stuff
My left ear feels left out 🤣😂
Beautiful Patti, a beautiful and very kind lady. ❤️❤️❤️❤️
Yes, she's an inspiration. Would love to meet her someday.
How do you know she was kind?
😂😂😂
just amazing!
Vốn những bài hát ngày xưa đã rất hay rồi mà thêm giọng hát giàu cảm xúc của Phúc nữa thì đúng là cực phẩm cover😍

Apart from Ali and Formby who else is Lenny doing impressions of ?
Exactly
Why did the compere introduce Lenny as house-trained? I wonder what Lenny thought?
At best it's because he was a teenage comedian from the suburbs, at worst... well I'm sure we all know.
Brilliant Lenny Henry first stage appearance on new faces is what i wanted to see and its on here after seeing his 3 shows on the Gold channel tonight
My auntie Barbara Hermans was on the 1975 show - can anyone find her?

A rare clip of when Lenny Henry was actually funny
Thanks for putting this up... I'm looking for 1975 with Al Dean?
Lenny henry was absolutely brilliant and superb and so funny at 16 why did not lenny henry win
Sweet sensation - 4 Marcel King was
Who the heck is the guy with the glasses? He sounds exactly like a young Michael Jackson.

@@anthonynolan8251 sorry for your loss what a lovely voice he had x
@@1lifeobit213 Thank you Sarah for your nice comment, he had a lovely personality to match his voice xx
Marcel King about the only real talent coming off New Faces. So sad died so young
Lenny’s bit was like an SNL audition. In a good way. Great impressions and props.
The best thing Lenny did was to marry the talented Dawn French.
Roger de courcey was the worst ventriloquist ever. He was so funny because of this. But Nookie was adorable and the jokes were funny.
How awful was Roger Decorsey?. He grew the moustache for a reason.😂😂
Funny as a cry for help....
Lenny obviously

Lenny Henry
Lenny using his skin colour to get laughs, now he plays a victim......
Wow, Lenny Henry was *never* funny then
Lenny Henry was mediocre, how did he become famous after this lukewarm performance?

Darren, he got top marks for embarrassment and box-ticking!
Lenny Henry was never funny
Crap.
