Chapels drawing looks like your field map going around potholes😂. Great content Mike.
Maybe if he doesn’t want to go into farming he can be a cartographer.
Exactly what I was thinking. 😂
The technology you’re using on your farm is mind-blowing. Farming has come a long way!
That ain't no surprise Mike I've been askin bout it for a few videos now you could see it in the video when they was in the tractor with you and the video when yall was walkin around together in the field but I will say congratulations I'm sure little man will be very happy
Yep, I noticed the surprise quite a while back!
One of the #1 things I like about this channel is how Mike starts each video with a quiet ‘good morning’ or ‘good afternoon’. 👍I just simply DESPISE the “cold open” that everyone else uses, followed by that raucous blast of music and the montage of clips showing the farm’s logo and all that!
me too!
Same here ✌🏻
Yeah, there’s not exactly any extra pizazz added to Mike’s videos, other than basic edits cobbling everything together. Simple, yet effective. 👍🏼 We’re here for the farming (and the demos/opinions), not faux drama and glamorization.
Fingers crossed 🤞 for your winter wheat mike.
I'm more into the livestock end of farming but you are so entertaining I follow what you do. Love to see more fall seeding. Thanks for the fun, Have a wonderful time to you and entire family this weekend.
Beautiful organic soil bed!
Not organic.
Best part of the video is to know the son draws a picture for Pop. That is awesome.
Cheers, Carry On!
Wonder what the neighbors are thinking watching the new guy seeding in the fall? Thanks for sharing Mike. Love your son’s drawings.
Good luck seeding your winter wht Mike
The real surprise this year is the calmness and sanity in Mikes videos. The last couple harvest years seemed to take a lot out of Mike.
That's because there's nothing left! 🫣😆
Many years ago like about 60 we first started winter wheat in north central South Dakota. At that time it was hit and miss for winter kill most was seeded into black summerfallow ground. Anything north of us was considered no plant for winter wheat. Most successful used single disk drills or hoe drills leaving the plant down bellow surface more for protection.
Nice drawing Chapel
Chapel is drawing the design of the new round baler you'll be picking up next summer
🤩👍👍fall seeding looking great,take care.
Hi Mike I love watching your videos on RUclips God bless
Great video Mike
Chapel says “Dad I don’t want to be a farmer,I am going to be an Artist”👍
Seeding into moisture is the first step to success.
Mike, your upcoming surprise .... Last time we saw Mrs Mitchell in the tractor with you and chapel, i think i can guess what your surprise is, i just thought you were staying quiet about it for privacy reasons, congratulations from Scotland to the 3 of you , soon to be 4 i suspect ❤ 🎉😊
The air coming out sounds like the space shuttle taking off
Thank god for insurance 🙏 😊
Love the content Mike maybe time to have a crew camera so can go back and forth see what everybody is doing
One thing you can say about those drills, they didnt skimp on the metal. That is some beefy hardware.
Morning
Have hauled many loads of Potash out of Rookanville.
That's nice á that drawing from Chappell.😉
We call it a 15 min fallow, nothing like drilling into the soil tight behind the combine.
Hi Mike is it worthwhile to tile plough the slews . Take the small ones down into one large pond
You have plenty of Horse power for the job 😊
Watching some of your videos sound off is entertaining in a vaudvillian sense. 😊
Salut Mike magnifique vidéo et le tracteur et le semoirs est bien équipés 😂😮😅😊
Can't wait to see how well the winter crop works for you. If you don't try you don't know.
Actually you need a solid seed bed for winter wheat. So solid it should take a little effort to drive a plier handle in the dirt
It would be nice to get a update on how a 715 really is in the hills of Canada.
'' ... and this one wheel here is MISSING GONE... '' ;) LOL that's a CHECK STRIP issn't it??? mark it on the map and see if the yeild map shows a difference?? eh...
Mike have you considered drain tile?
They make farming so much nicer and have great improvement on yields
Not really worth the investment. It would take several lifetimes to see any return and there’s really no where to drain the water to. Best option is to make surface channels to drain one slough into another
@@clearskiesranch1362If you can make surface channels 3 fi deep you can tile 3 ft deep a lot cheaper
Their problem with tile is that they have very little slope to work with and nowhere to outlet!
@@kevinmeyer3884 from the videos he’s put on seems they would have lots of water ways or slews to drain into. talking exclusively for the north farm
Good day Mike, how do the 800 r46 lsw tires compare to the 800 r38 michelins?
Mike, you take your shoes off in cabin, but you touch everyting (soil,...) without cloves and get back, are you washing hands?😅
agree sun screen is really a "screen" and not a shade - useless
👋😊
Years back another RUclipsr I follow, Mark Brock, planted winter canola, whereas canola pays more then wheat, have you ever considered hedging bets with other winter crops like canola or barley?
They aren't as winter hardy as winter wheat
How you liking the big Case tractor. I like the green ones but it’s not my fault. I started watch Zach first and he runs green machines but I enjoy all the colors.
Tell us how the 2 new Internationals are doing performance wise ???
Still waiting on a review myself. But I tell you what, mike Mitchell helped me decide to try a case 620 and I went from a 9620rx to a steiger 620 and besides a few minor complaints I think I made the right decision.
I’d really like to see Mike try a big bud (when they start popping up on the market) for a seeding tractor but it’s good to see him in anything but a deer
@@Doubie. I get up in the morning get in my tractor and don't get out till late at night. So I really prefer a nice cab and idk if that big bud has it. And the case cab is already behind Deere and if the big bud cab is even worse I know I personally wouldn't be interested along with lots other people. You can talk with whomever you want and 1 thing that'll always come up is the cab, and JD almost has them all beat in terms of that and I believe that's why so many people prefer john Deere.
Did nobody else hear Mike say he needs to introduce someone
John deere? Never!@@sheldonwollman3840
Do you do a pre emerge spray on the winter wheat, or can it wait til the spring post emerge?
Hey Mike when is your new 715 coming in
How have the red tractors performed as compared to Fents and John Deere?
Surprise chapel is getting a little brother ?
Not doing any ditching this year?
That is some dark soil sir.
👍
No Nitrogen in fall? Putting that in with the seed?
Is it like ur in a public bathroom drying your hands off with one of them things lol
did you all get any of that HURRYCAIN RAIN up there that far north??? any ''popup moisture for the storms down south'' events???
Is that white winter under contract or selling as CWSP?
How long does it take to travel from the South to the North Farm in your truck?
Pick up truck about 6 hours which is a long drive to work!
350 Miles roughly
Are there any colonys near you
Ya there's a few in that area, more north though
What is the percentage chance over 10 years that this winter wheat will not freeze ????
Why don't you channel these puddles or kettles with a drain that empties them, a tile drain in fact, or catchment????
thank ,you farmer of Orleans in France
It’s extremely hard to make the economic return on that kind of investment.
HOWS THAT CASE YOU GOING FOR THE BIG ONE
He's had s 715 on order for a long while.
Great videos. Like your positive attitude :)
Do you have a lot of problems with erosion on these huge fields?
CHEAPER BY THE DOZEN wink wink nudge nudge congrats
That farm land cant be profitable without insurance.
