Great, thanks! Must say I lived in Indonesian many years and I wouldn't travel without rabies vaccination.. the thing with rabid /dogs is even if you're careful.. they're not. I've been bitten by a dog that came up from behind me and many people I know have similar stories.
Hey boy, there are tuk tuks everywhere…you don’t need to book them , on every street corner and outside every hotel . Just negotiate a price before you start.
I'm sorry, Justin...Hotel Zing is the most atrocious hotel. Mattress was rock hard. The entire decor is stark white and bright purple. The convoluted way that we had to get to our room was bewildering, outside onto a balcony overlooking the seedy back laneway at one point. No rugs or wall coverings so it was extremely noisy. We heard chairs moving on floors and TV all the way down the hall. My sister was 3 rooms away from us, my partner and I had a tickle fight and she came running, thinking I was being murdered. The only benefit to staying at Hotel Zing was the ever-so-interesting transport depot across the road. Facinating to watch how much stuff can be piled on moto's and into vans. Breakfast was a nightmare, sun streaming into windows and blinding us, bouncing off the stark white walls. We went back up to our rooms to get our sunglasses. According to the map, Cambodia is NEXT to Vietnam, and below Laos and Thailand, NOT below Vietnam. You forgot to mention MALARIA! If you do nothing else, you MUST take medication for malaria. Siem Reap is so much more than Angkor Wat. Yes it is impressive, BUT there are many, many more ruins to see - Neak Poan, Ta Som, West Mebon, Preah Khan, Bayon, Banteay Srei, to name but a few. The floating villages are mostly populated by Vietnamese, paid for by the Vietnamese government to re-settle there. The reason for the change from a $20 in Reil is because the Cambodian government has removed $1 and $5 dollar notes from circulation to strengthen the local currency. Lastly, "Everything you need to know" in a 10 minute video? Not nearly enough time. Sorry if this is too harsh, but we have the experience of 5 trips to Cambodia, and felt the need for clarity. P.S. Just curious, where did you film this? Is that Coles supermarket in the background?
Hey! Thanks for the feedback I'll respond to some of your comments here. I found hotel Zing to be very cheap and cheerful. After staying in other budget hotels, Zing had far superior facilities and I was happy to have a nice hot shower and a clean room, the firmness of the mattress was fine from my memory. And I found the rooms to be well sound proofed. But two people can stay at the same place and have vastly different experiences haha. Please feel free to reccomend some other options where you had better experiences! Yes I realised I had a slip of the tongue whilst I was editing the video, but hey after a long days work these things happen. It wasn't crucial information so I let it slide. I do try to be 100% correct but mistakes happen. On the Malaria front, I was advised by my doctor before I left rhe UK that Cambodia and infact, South East Asia as a whole posed a very low threat of Malaria. It was mainly Africa and South America I was told were the main danger areas for this. I was advised I didn't need any precautionary treatment so I followed the advice. I made it through fine so I can't complain! Yes I am aware of the Vietnamese and the government trying to remove the $1 & $5 notes, still odd to be in a dual currency country hey? Maybe Bitcoin is the future for Cambodia! The aim of this video is to give all the basic necessary information to anyone seeking to travel to Cambodia so they can hit the ground running and get exploring! No it's not too harsh at all, it's good to have genuine feedback, I want to produce the best videos for my viewers so Thank you! I headed to Australia after Cambodia to do a working holiday, that's just the local Coles in the Background! Innisfail - Queensland is the location! Have a good day!

I've read articles about flying a drone in Phenom Penh that you must to pay $1k for a permit? That's a bit steep just to fly a drone in the city. I appreciate any advice. Thanks
Hey! Yeah you can fly prety much anywhere apart from Phnom Penh and Siem Reap where you will need to get a permit. It shouldnt be too expensive but they say up to $1000 because they need to include potential use for commercial filming etc. The best bet would be to apply and see what they say, or just not fly in those locations 😃
