    Last year I went to guitar center and there was a 7 string (my preferred guitar) tuned to A standard and i picked it up and I'm insanely nervous to play in front of people because i never really have, well out of spite i just played the first few note of blind by korn figuring out what to play and the employee was like "Oh my God blind haven't heard that in forever give me a minute i want to play it with you" and we ended up playing most of the song it was awesome

      I’ve only tried out guitars in a store once, a few weeks ago, and it was a much more terrifying experience than I expected. Nervous, hands sweaty and shaking, forgetting every song or riff I know-and to make matters worse the guy plugged me into an amp that I didn’t know how to use and walked away (I’ve never used a real amp). Not pleasant.

    Hmm the first riff that i learned was smoke on the water 2 years ago when i started playing guitar but the first whole song that i learned was Lick it up by kiss that was my riff when i were in guitar stores. But now it’s almost anything from Cinderella or any of the old metal bands from the 80’s like Lizzy Borden, autograph, quiet riot, White lion, twisted Sister or Yngwies old stuff from eclipse and those albums with real songs.

    I never learned the one string version of Iron Man. I didn't even know there was one until now. I learned to play it with two finger power cords. It was the first song I learned to play all the way through.

      @theccarbiter 3 года назад

      I think you’ve been playing the song wrong then because only the verse is played with power chords. During the chorus when ozzy starts singing iommi isn’t playing power chords he’s just playing single notes.

    Back in the day I tried so hard for a few years and just sucked at playing the guitar. I never had lessons and just got stuck and could not get better. Now with RUclips there is enough information I think I could have gotten over the hump. I have learned so much from RUclips in other in devours. Let that be a lesson, use the internet for good not evil. Thanks for a fun video.

    I went to a GC in Texas and there were a bunch of teenagers banging on guitars not really playing anything recognizable. I got a Charvel off the wall and plugged into their BOSS display and dialed in and played Damage Inc by Metallica including the leads and next thing you know I had an audience. It felt good. I'm a washed up80s metal guitar player.

    Yesterday I went to a guitar store and I tested out an amp for the first time I was so nervous to play my foot was shaking looking back I know I shouldn't have been but I was, when I played that Epiphone on the Boss Katana the sound just made me smile when I played the Wherever I May Roam riff and Symphony of Destruction. Ended up buying the boss Katana amp and now looking to upgrade my guitar possibly getting a Bronze Series Warlock and upgrading the Humbuckers to possible KH Bone breakers!

    Tbh. as a bass player striking those 3 riffs gives me a pretty good idea of the guitar- they cover playing down the neck, up the neck, slap, pick... summed up they also cover all strings (I'd probably go for a different slap song. Forget me nots by Patrice Rushen for example)

    Great video, many people are intimidated playing guitars in music stores & not just because the guys that work in these shops are pretty tasty on guitar but if you only know 3 chords or none it doesn't matter because we've all gotta start somewhere & these music shop guys know this, so my advice is just have a go & bollox to what anyone else thinks

    In 98' or 99' I went to Dusseldorf for company business. I was missing playing so I stopped in a guitar store, sat alone in the amp room, and began playing stuff my band was currently covering - AIC, STP, and probably some Smashing Pumpkins. The door opened to the guitar lesson rooms and one of the instructors approached me. I thought I was in trouble. He said, "You must be American because nobody comes in here and plays those songs." We talked as he kept watching and listening to me play. He enjoyed hearing something different for once.

    I calling on all guitar store guitar heroes to arpeggiate "House Of The Rising Sun" on your next visit to honor The Animals guitarist Hilton Valentine on his recent passing. This is the grand daddy of all guitar store anthems. This is the tune your father and his father before him played when they abused to-die-for vintage guitars in 1960s guitar shops.
