This video is great and it helped a novice new owner of this gun. I was able to break it down and lube it in just minutes. Thanks Kriss!

It's nice to see the company making instructional videos. I would add my vote for a cleaning, lubricating video. I think there are others online now, but I would still like to hear what the factory recommends.

How about a video on how to clean & lube the vector? Nothing out there on the recommended cleaning procedures and hardly even touched on in the owners manual. Thanks!

You gotta love how in the owners manual they tell you how to clean the upper receiver and then say just clean the lower receiver just as you did the upper. I was like really! considering all the moving parts are in the lower they should have reversed those instructions. I just cleaned everything they said to lube in the manual and lubed those same parts afterwards. took it out to the range in 0 degree weather and had no issues. ran it wet of course, and got 200 rounds out before my fingers went numb and I quit for the day.

James Alann you can’t be serious??!!
Like how to complicate a jellybean!!
Wipe it down like any other gun, run a brush through the barrel, so on.
Only thing you might want to consider, but really goes for all guns, slidy parts like grease n pivots like oil.

morris4069 Thanks for your input....Of course, I know and have practiced common sense maintenance on dozens of firearms over the years. I happen to like details and specifics. I was only commenting because I feel that if someone is spending $1,500 on a novel firearm like a Vector (referring to the pivoting recoil mitigation system), the manufacturer should give better instructions. I’ve seen better instructions included with toys. The gun had to go back for warranty service (FTE) but runs like a mouse with slippers now!

It's just a bumper for the slide so it doesn't have metal on metal contact at the bottom of its travel.

Not sure if it's normal or not but I have a Gen 2 and when I load a new mag and pull the charging handle, the first shot never fires. I have to pull the charging handle again to eject the 1st round, then every round after that works fine.
If I use the button on the left side to close the slide, I don't have any issues with the first round. Why does this make a difference? Shouldn't it work the same, weather I use the changing handle or the button?

    • @Orcinus24x5

The manual very specifically says to load the magazine into the firearm on an open bolt. This is because most people baby the charging handle on the return when cocking it and the bolt doesn't close fully. This is mitigated by letting the bolt drop closed entirely under spring pressure from the open/locked position, or if you really want to, completely let go of the charging handle once it's fully drawn back.

@@Orcinus24x5hello fellas. So after watching this being field stripped. Just clean the inside of the upper and lower receiver and spray everything with gun oil. Boom cleaned and lubed. The dirtiest parts are the action and inside of the lower and upper. It ain’t hard. Idk what u guys are looking for specifically. Am I missing something. I own a lot of firearms and just field strip and clean and spray is 100% all I do. What are u guys doing different. Y’all pulling bolts and adding loctite. Y’all adding aquamarine grease to springs. Idk but y’all need jepus
