In this video, we dive deep into the comparison between the BF Goodrich KO3 and its predecessor, the KO2, to see which tire sets the bar higher in terms of performance and technology. The KO3 rolls out with a refreshed design, featuring enhanced aqua channels, angular lugs, and a more refined pattern for superior grip and minimized hydroplaning.
    Key Highlights:
Dry Performance: The KO3 showcases superior braking and directional grip due to an optimized contact patch and improved tread design, leading to smoother motion and enhanced safety.
Wet Performance: With advanced sipes and grooves, plus a softer, more flexible rubber, the KO3 offers a 15% improvement in wet braking and a 10% increase in wet handling compared to the KO2.
Snow Performance: The KO3 edges out the KO2 in winter performance, with a 5% better snow acceleration and braking, thanks to its refined design featuring a higher sipe count and aggressive tread patterns.
Noise Comfort: The KO3 is slightly quieter than the KO2, with more closed-up shoulder lugs and a tread pattern engineered to minimize noise reflection.
Off-Road Performance: The KO3 shines on sand with optimized sidewalls and lighter construction, while the KO2 performs better on rocks due to its durable build and full-depth sipes.
    Verdict:
The BF Goodrich KO3 represents a significant leap forward in tire technology and performance, setting a new benchmark for all-terrain tires with its advancements in tread design, performance across different terrains, noise reduction, and off-road capabilities.

Can you compare the K03 to the Bridgestone Dueller Revo and the Firestone Destination AT?

Had Ko 2 on my Ranger. Good traction off road. Not that good in muddy conditions. On road, slippery on wet surfaces and noisy as they get older, and irritating harmonics sets in. However, they lasted for 150000 km. At witch point the thread remaining about 45 to 50 %. Never had a punture of a flat. Even on demanding offroad tracks. re
Replace them, as i noticede cracks on the sidewalls. That could be very dangerous. However, inspecting the inside, after removal, there was no damage at all inside. Looked brand new. Suggesting the rubber compound has lost its flexibility and became hard. Another probleam is picking up small stones and gravel. a sensually sort of sand blasting everything behind it. Clearly the so called stone ejectors didn't do their job. However, quite happy with the durability and distance i got. But hope the Ko 3 would solve all these problems.

KO3 will be a good tire, but there is a clear shift to driving on asphalt and it loses its off-road characteristics. I don't think it will be the same on mud. The KO3 reminds me the Pirelli Scorpion AT or the Falken Wildpeak AT4W. .... The market still lacks a rougher AT, something like the Cooper ST Maxx.

Theres plenty of rougher ATs, theyre called hybrid terrain tires. Almost every major company has a model.

More refined pattern.. just wish it looked like an off road tire. The narrower tread pattern really is pretty blah vs the older deeper wider tread. I do like the sidewall of the newer generation. But let’s face it… BFG is less worried about being the best off road all terrain and meeting lighter, less roll resistance and better on road ride and traction. Why? Because they want the Ford, RAM, Jeep etc OEM contracts. This means meeting the EPA mandates that these manufacturers are being crushed under. Pickups, Jeeps etc all are being forced to be so clean and produce so few emissions that the manufacturers are looking for efficiency even for the Bronco, Jeep, Raptor F-150, Raptor Ranger, Raptor Bronco.
No doubt the tires I’ll do better on pavement as an all season tire. It will not do well at all in mud. It the BFG really hasn’t done well in mud since the 1980’s.

They are not lighter bud. They are notably heavier than the KO2 in the current minimal sizes offered.

Yes, I know what you're saying, but the averaged weight of Ko3 is lighter considering all sizes.

Hopefully they arent skiis in the wet when they get half worn like the KO2s

    • @comparethetire
      @comparethetire  2 месяца назад

Ko2 basically uses a dual compound with harder layer of rubber beneath, that's why with wear they loose wet traction.
