    Good job. Just a tip for you. When doing a sound comparison: play the EXACT same loop, or same part of the song for each speaker. Also, play 3 very different styles/examples for each speaker...classical, hip hop, jazz, etc...this will test the range and dynamics of the speaker, and allows your audience to 'taste' more with them earlobes..lol.

    The video made it easier for me to enjoy both products. It was a bit frustrating that the music played so long on one speaker then almost at the end of the present passage or song the speaker was changed. Made it a bit harder to compare. I did not notice it on the other video I saw of yours. I like your overall presentation and hope you keep producing.

      Finally got the Flex too. Decided to stay with the flip 6 though. With adjusted EQ settings it offers more bass at lower volumes, it’s 50 bucks cheaper and way more portable. At high volumes I liked the Bose more, but I don’t use my mobile speaker that loud usually. The Buttons also annoyed me and the fact, that the Bose looks dirty so fast! I saw every fluff and fingerprint on it.

    We had a 1st gen Echo in our master bathroom for listening to music in the morning ruclips.net/user/postUgkxABghAEkaIDGZfHRBH3D3rBrlraNmnC71 and while in the shower. I didn't realize how tinny and awful the sound output on the original Echo was until we replaced it with the Studio. It was a sonic upgrade far beyond what I was expecting. Just wow. I love it because it's like having speakers IN the shower. My friend likes it because the music is so loud that she can no longer hear me singing. So that's a win-win.

    I own two bose soundlink flex’s in a stereo pair and think they are great and loud. 2 combined is definitely louder than one and sounds overall fuller. I went with the bose over the JBL because it has deeper bass. They say the Bose SoundLink flex sounds better if you lay it flat. In my testing this is true but it doesn’t make much of a difference. Like maybe slightly clearer vocals and a little bit deeper lower bass. Bose uses position IQ technology which is cool but you cannot disable it even if you want to. I actually own a Sonos speaker that has a similar feature but on the sonos it will let you disable this feature if you’d like. Well back to the JBL, the JBL has a tweeter that the bose does not for better track separation and potentially better vocal clarity. And it has an equalizer in the app to adjust the bass, treble and midrange to your liking. You cannot do that with the bose soundlink flex or on the bose connect app it runs. I find myself having connectivity issues a lot when trying to get the two bose soundlink flex speakers to stereo pair but hopefully/maybe bose will do software updates to the app to improve that if that’s possible. But i believe it’s been like 3 months since they updated the app.

      I prefer my Flex flat. I find a big difference in instrument separation on its back. You can hear hi-hats and snare drums much clearer. Guitar sounds much cleaner and realistic. It just sounds more open. Standing up sounds very compressed to me. It’s fine for songs with not a lot of instruments. And it’s more convenient on its back too.

    • @joelf5565
      @joelf5565 5 месяцев назад

      The Flex does sound more muffled/compressed when upright. On its back it has a treble boost and get brighter with louder and clearer drums, cymbals, and vocals all the while maintaining its deep bass. Really best of both worlds. It’s pretty much how I exclusively listen to my Flex. Bose has a thing called position IQ and it actually changes the EQ based on its position.

    • @notinterestedx
      @notinterestedx 10 месяцев назад

      it’s because different manufacturers determine their battery life differently. for example, Bose may(i don’t know their actual volume) measure their battery life playing at 30% volume, whereas JBL(again i’m unsure but i think it’s 50%) may measure it at 50%. neither measures it at 80% or above therefore playing at these higher volumes will deplete the battery quicker than advertised. listening and going off the advertised battery life is not accurate. not only this, but different music types have different battery drainage, such as bass heavy music will drain faster, louder recorded music(disregarding what volume on the actual speaker is at) will drain faster, whereas quieter music will drain slower. when a company says “x hours battery life” it will never realistically be that long as you will most definitely play it at volumes above their testing volume and other music types to them.

    • @notinterestedx
      @notinterestedx 10 месяцев назад

      as for your point, it’s likely that bose tests their speakers at a lower volume in order to keep up with JBL’s advertised time, meaning the JBL speaker will last longer in real-world usage as its battery life was tested using higher volumes.

      @@nokiazeiss9999 don’t forget that Micro was released in 2017. At that time there was nothing that could compete in sound quality that Micro is able to bring. All the other speakers which had the more or less the same performance were bigger and costed more. It’s just too old tech for 2022. I sold my Micro and bought Marshall Willen instead mainly because of battery life and power (10W). To be honest, there’s still something about Bose Micro that brings good memories, I’m not as satisfied with Willen as I was with Micro when I bought it 2 or 3 years ago. Willen surely sounds good but it missing something. Probably the lack of bass for it’s size and power compared to Micro. I had Flex as well and sound if that speaker is definitely great but again, I sold it because it’s simply a bit too weak fir me. Indoors it’s amazing but outdoors 20W isn’t enough, that’s why I bought Charge 5 instead. Same price, much more power/loudness and better battery life.

      One cool thing with the Flex that nobody really reviews or demos is that Bose has a position IQ that adjusts the EQ based on its position. When on its back the Flex has boosted treble. It gets more bright (cymbals and vocals louder and clearer) and more similar to the JBL, but not as harsh as the JBL. And at the same time it maintains its deep bass. Best of both. I prefer it on its back for that reason cause I also like a more treble rich speaker. Cool thing is it still has some warmth to it even being bight. It’s truly a great balance. If the only EQ sound profile was the one upright I wouldn’t love the Flex. But on its back it sounds amazing, and is frankly a more convenient position since it gives you 360 sound when moving around. Never off axis that way. There is a third EQ for when it’s vertical (typically hanging with its loop). It seems to be in between the other two.

It’s really the only way I listen to this speaker, cause upright it is definitely more compressed sound. Particularly you can hear a difference with the snare drum and cymbals. They pop nicely on its back but are quite recessed upright. Vocals are also brighter on its back. Plus on its back you have 360 sound when moving around. I really wished people would demo it that way. Even in the stores you can’t cause they have the speaker unmovable.

    I bought both to compare at home, JBL I had to adjust the tone with their app, was way too much treble for my taste out of the box. Tried all kinds of music. Once adjusted they were very comparable to my ears. I ended up sending the JBL back for other reasons: don't like 'fabric' as a cover, not a fan of the open sides that just invite it to fall off a table and land on a pointy rock or little kids fingers or pets to play with that bouncy rubber wall. I'm very happy with the Bose, even at very low volume there's a nice bass.
    Both are great though, since I have other Bose mini speakers I just stuck with what I know in this case, but you can't really go wrong with either.
    Blutooth version is no issue for me, I'll never be far away from the speaker while using it.

      @adventureawaits3646 - I bought the Bose Flex a couple weeks ago as well right after Thanksgiving 2022. I watched a few online comparisons of the Flip 6 and the Flex, and it just seemed that the Flex sounded better out of the box. You mentioned the treble issue on the Flip 6, and that was something I noticed from several sound comparisons - the treble is too harsh on the Flip 6, at least for what I like, even if it can be dialed down with the EQ in the app.
      Many reviews on the Flex were critical since it doesn't have an EQ in the Bose App. Listening to the Flex for the last 2 weeks, it does a great job with all types of music without the need for an EQ. I also own an older Bose SoundLink Color 2, and have paired that with the Flex in stereo - that makes the listening experience even better.
      I also don't like the exposed dual passive radiators on either side of the Flip 6, they are great to watch in action, but I prefer all the components to be behind a protective grille or covering.
      I agree with you, both the Flip 6 and Flex are good options, we go with what works for us. The other issue I have now is I also bought a 1st Gen Marshall Emberton a couple weeks before the Flex, and the Emberton also sounds great. Debating on keeping them both.

    • @joelf5565
      @joelf5565 5 месяцев назад

      I’m not a fan of those exposed radiators either. And the Bose loop thing is actually quite handy. And if ever wanting more treble on the Flex you can position it on its back and the position IQ boosts the treble, but I find it more controlled than the JBL treble. So gives you best of both worlds.

      Put the Flex on its back and listen. The treble increases and it sounds much more open. Bose has position IQ and it adjusts the EQ based on its position. If you are still hearing a hollow sound then yours is either defective or a fake (surprisingly they’re out there). I do find the Flex upright to sound a bit muffled as well. Particularly the snare drum and cymbals sound diminished. But on its back they pop.

      Bose has position IQ that changes the EQ based on its position. On its back the treble is enhanced and sounds perfect. It sounds more open and bright, but not out of control like the JBL. Hi-hats and snare drum pop whereas upright they don’t. There is a big difference and nobody talks about it or demos it. Mind boggling.

      When the Flex is on its back the EQ is adjusted and there is a treble boost and the speaker opens up. Sounds wider and brighter. It’s Bose’s position IQ and hardly anyone demos it that way on RUclips and in the stores they have the darn things unmoveable. But it does sound much better imo on its back and not muffled. Standing upright sounds much more compressed. Particularly the snare drum and cymbals diminish. But on its back they really pop. There is a big difference. If it wasn’t for that I would not be as happy with my Bose. Never been a fan of the “warm” Bose signature sound. But man does it sound great on its back. Best of both worlds, crisp highs and deep low bass.

    PLEASE TAKE THE TIME TO READ THIS.
    Just a thought on the JBL Flip 6 vs the Bose SoundLink Flex. They are the same size and according to the internet the bose has a larger transducer than the JBL but the JBL has a tweeter and an adjustable equalizer within the app where as at this time on the bose connect app there is not an equalizer to adjust the sound. But I have another bose speaker and it uses a different music app and it runs on the bose msuic app and in the bose music app it has an equalizer so you can adjust the bass and the treble to your liking.
    And in the JBL portable app you can do the same thing except you can also adjust the mid-range. Bose could add an EQ to there app in the future/near future. Bc I read on the internet that when the JBL flip 6 was released it did not have an adjustable eq within its app for its speakers. But now it has an eq in the app.
    I think with the equalizer off on the JBL the bose sounds better but with the eq on I think the JBL sounds better. So if bose added an equalizer that could change things. I know the speaker has position IQ technology where it’s supposed to adjust the sound depending on which way you lay it but it would be nice to be able to turn that off if you wanted to.
    A similar portable speaker called the sonos roam has a similar feature but in the sonos s2 app you can turn that feature off. In the bose app you cannot do that or on the speaker itself either. And also Sonos has an adjustable EQ within the app like the JBL. The bose is behind the times with that but I bet they’ll change for the better. I would turn position IQ off and have an equalizer set to my liking if I could.
    I prefer my bose soundlink flex to sit upright so it’s pointing at me but they say it will produce more bass if you lay it flat, in my testing this is true. A little more bass for sure. Which I like. But I shouldn’t have to lay it flat to get maximum bass output. And the speaker needs better rubber feet on it because sometimes it will move it self. Or vibrate itself off the table. So I would recommend not placing it near the edge of a table if you don’t have to. Thank you for whoever actually takes the time to read this.
